I was tagged by @robrou19 for #currentread tag! Currently neck deep in Duma Key and I LOVE IT!!! Ive had to take a break for about a week because work is INSANE and I'm dying to finish it! I love all the descriptive text on the house and the sound of the shells! The characters and amazingly done! Can't wait to start again!
Also found this awesome display for J and I's wedding cake topper! I've been on the lookout all year and finally just came across this one at hobby lobby! It was a piece of the wedding that I thought I wouldn't care about and kindof fought my mom on even doing in the first place (my wedding was a SUPER non-traditional NYE extravaganza!) then I came across the lovely French woman that acually used pictured of us and my dress to make a perfect scuba theme of us and it's one of my favorite keep sakes now! It helps that Jordan actually proposed while we were scuba diving 😉
Last thing - shout out to all the Bookstagrammers that don't flat lay because IT IS NOT MY COMFORT ZONE AT ALL!!!!! Lol
Day Nine: “What an excellent day for an exorcism.” (possessions) #didyousayhorrorchallenge I had to really put my thinking cap on here. I wanted to pick The Exorcist; it’s on my TBR list but I don’t actually own a copy. (yet) And THEN, I remembered Duma Key (I won’t spoil, if you’ve read it, you know). Also *please* appreciate my Ouija Board. Note that is not some Parker Bros version from the toy store. I found that in a yard sale in college. It’s the real thing. It’s huge. And it’s awesome. And it will probably kill me or possess me at some point in my life. 🤷🏻♀️ After I saw the movie The Exorcist I did put it away, it used to sit out on a table in my bedroom in college and that just felt like bad juju. 😈🙅🏻 But it was perfect to share a photo of it for this horror challenge. And then this little photo bomber sat on it. 🙄 Magick may be possessed now. Hard to say, he’s always crazy. #dumakey#stephenking#muchomachacho#ouijaboard#ouija#williamfuld#magick#constantreader#fictionreader#bookstagram (this is probably my favorite pic I have taken so far)
Ok, I'm on a roll... I've finished 3 really good books this week. #thedreams by @matthewrflemingauthor (check him out if you wanna learn more about his horror novel), #dumakey by #stephenking and #moonlightmile by #dennislehane
If you ever read or watched #gonebabygone and liked it then this was a phenomenal follow up to Patrick Kenzie's story finding little Amanda... All three of these books this week were a blast to read! 👌📖 #readmore

🔸The Devil Crept In - Ania Ahlborn ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4
this was my first Ahlborn's book and I loved it! Hopefully I'm going to read another one in October.
🔸Twilight Eyes - Dean Koontz ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5
First Koontz book as well, I'd like to start Odd Thomas series soon, this one was excellent! Great description of characters' physiognomy!
🔸Duma Key - Stephen King ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5
My favorite this month! Excellent description of west coast Florida, great story, Wireman is my fav character ever! I would recommend this book to everyone. Especially Floridians 😁
🔸Greener Pastures - Michael Wehunt ⭐️⭐️2.5
Interesting ideas, I didn't like his writing style although it is very unique. I can understand why so many people like these stories, but they are just not for me. I would say that people should definitely give it a chance. I really liked "Greener Pastures" story. And "behind scenes" part at the end of the book is awesome! Maybe I'll pick it up again and like it, who knows... 🔹And I covered Oregon, Florida and Pennsylvania for my #50statesOfHorror challenge 😊
“Life is like Friday on a soap opera. It gives you the illusion that everything is going to wrap up, and then the same old shit starts up on Monday.” #DumaKey#StephenKing
To Edgar Freemantle and his itchy phantom arm.
So excited to get my hands on Sleeping Beauties, Steve's latest book written with his son, Owen. Pretty sure the bookstore near me will have the US cover. But I want to have the UK cover!
#weallfloatchallenge - Favorite Friendship (excluding Loser's Club members)
Usually I would go with one of the DT friendships, but I feel like I should venture out of Mid-world this time and go with a book I haven't used for this challenge.
Edgar and Wireman are my favorite kind of friendship. The kind that happens so naturally and easy that it fits like a puzzle. The kind that's not afraid to call bullshit. And the kind that is there through thick and thin and some crazy other stuff that you'll just have to read to find out.
And since I live in the middle of the Midwest, a book selfie infront of the fish tank in my living room is about as close as I get to God's waiting room and talking shells.
I'm going to do Day 27 and Day 28 of #weallfloatchallenge at the same time because I don't want to bombard your feed with a lot of Duma Key. I could do that cos I love this book so much, but you guys might shoot me down for flooding. LOL!
Childhood fear: drowning, especially at sea. When I was little, we used to do a lot of sea travel (the Philippines is an archipelago consisting of 7,107 islands) during summer and Christmas vacation. There's something about the open ocean that gives me the creeps, more so if you're on it. What do those dark depths contain? And I fear sharks, too.
Favorite Friendship (excluding the losers club): This is a no brainer. Wireman and Freemantle forever! I love these two muchachos. They, along with the spooky plot, are what made this book so special. 🔸🔸
Goodreads Challenge 9/20... Duma Key by Stephen King - Set on the Florida coast, this book was a super read with some very eerie moments. Loved the characters Edgar and Wireman, I'd love to see a film adaptation of this with Viggo Mortensen as Edgar and Jeff Bridges as Wireman 📚 🎥 #StephenKing#DumaKey#GoodreadsChallenge#Goodreads
