Some good things stay, as does this wonderful #WashingtonDC institution. But others don’t, as has disappeared Vesuvio’s, a popular pizza takeout place from a corner nearby. Back in the Dupont Circle neighborhood, briefly home ages ago. #timetravel#dupontcircle#kramerbooks
#ONSUNDAYSWEBRUNCH —- REVIEW TIME. Things considered:
Mission is a Mexican Style restaurant and bar located in Dupont Circle steps from the Dupont Metro station, North exit. Normally, when something is metro accessible finding parking is of course DRAINING. I had to have driven in five circles before I found a spot...Luckily I found parking only 3 minutes away walking. This restaurant is pretty popular so reservations are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED but super easy. You can call or reserve online. Now let’s get to the FOOD! Brunch begins at 11 am on weekends and is sometimes even offered on Holidays! What I loved the absolute most about Mission is their bottomless options!!! Mission offers your choice of bottomless Mimosas, Margaritas and Bloody Mary. Bottomless Margaritas, can you say DRUNK!! But wait, how could I forget the complimentary shot El Jimador (Silver Tequila for my non-drinkers) Brunch for each-table is timed at two hours and the option to swap is available!! The Bottomless Brunch is a flat fee $36.99 (TOTALLY WORTH IT) taxes and gratuity not included. In total one may spend about $41 dollars. However, if you purchase the Bottomless Brunch you have specific options to choose from but À la cart is also available but for a different price. With that being said instead of a flat price you would have to pay for each drink (except if you purchase a pitcher, also an option available) and entree. Who doesn’t love guacamole and salsa! I was so full of the chips and guacamole I could barely finish my entree! I decided on the Quesadilla! DELICIOUS!!! Overall, I enjoyed my experience and was delighted with exquisite meals. You could never go wrong with complimentary shots and bottomless margaritas! A+ Mission!
Breakfast of champions! 💪🏼
Today’s breakfast was local eggs, local bacon, stir fried mushrooms, onions, zucchini, and kale with a side of kimchi!
Most of the ingredients are local as be bought a majority of it at the DuPont farmers market.
This is also a lower carb breakfast that includes all delicious gut healing, low inflammation foods! 😍
Healing foods are beautiful! 🥓🍳🥒🥗

June 1963. Eddie Hicks was arrested at Dupont Circle for vagrancy, for playing his guitar, which was considered a nuisance to others. The police were targeting the “bohemians” who were moving into Dupont and transforming the Fountain area as a meeting place. Hicks showed the officer a $20 bill to prove he “wasn’t a bum,” but was arrested anyway. The @aclu_nationwide helped defend Hicks, and musical protests quickly commenced around the Fountain. #dc#washingtondc#dchistory#localhistory#newspaper#guitar#protest#aclu#citylife#dupontcircle
Good morning furiends! My name is Seneca aka @senegrams. I’m a low-rider black lab mix who turns 1 on Feb 16 and I’m so excited to have you follow me around...even if my resting sad face doesn’t show it 😉
My parents adopted me from @citydogsrescue in May. Back then, I was a 10 week old puppy named Mrs. Potts, from the Beauty and the Beast litter. Everyone knew who I was because I had the shortest legs compared to my 6 siblings. As fate would have it, I never got an application...until my mom finally got my dad on board to adopt me! He has no regrets (even if I ate his MacBook cord). Today you’ll see my neighborhood (Dupont/U street), some adoptable furiends from #citydogsrescue and my own pack 😎
Farmer's market at #dupontcircle . Highlight was a big white guy in a football jersey selling six dumplings for $9. I don't think @dintaifungusa even charges that much! So they must be amazing, but I wasn't about to find out...
