I am not a morning person naturally, but I absolutely LOVE waking up early to dedicate toward self-care & the things that fill my own cup. In my own experience, the key to having a consistent morning ritual is to have a strong evening ritual - and that includes going to bed around the same time each night. It may not seem exciting to be in bed by 10pm, but think about how many hours are maximized by this small habit?
Waking up early has become one of the foundational habits that keep me centered, healthy and on track with my intentions & goals.
Give it a try for a few days and see if you notice a difference 😴

As I spent time reflecting on my journey this morning, I remember my years spent at the gym. I remember not knowing anything else. I went for the classes and there I was introduced to yoga. It never quite fit in my schedule but I would make an evening of it. Pack up my bag, go to the gym, check in, change, wait for class to start, work out then rush home.
Something was a miss.
Fast forward to now. I wake up, work on me through a little personal development and devotions then walk downstairs into MY gym and push play with a certified instructor right there on my iPad. No driving, no waiting and no rushing. This allows me to focus fully on taking action, because without that, nothing happens.
So, I'm glad for the gym and it's introduction into a favorite practice of mine, yoga. This brings peace and comfort to my body and makes me feel energized and strong. Where ever your journey has brought you, reflect on on it and grow from it- good or bad, you are a better person because of it. .

I didn't sleep well last night, tossed and turned all night. I was wide awake at 4:30 waiting for my 5am alarm and when it went off it was still pitch black out. ...
Sure, it's hard to get out of bed early each morning but it's important to me. And really, once your feet hit the floor it's not so bad anyways.
I know I will soon have to get used to this lack of sleep and being up all hours. But I would love to resist before the babies get here. Every night for the past few nights I've been up in the early hours. Sometimes indigestion, sometimes hip pain! Sometimes I just need a wee and then anxiety takes hold and I just can't settle. I'm filling my time rewatching #johnothancreek on @netflixuk any other "light" watching recommendations???

First official day of summer vacation according to Jayme (Friday was a P.A. Day) so not only do I have the kids home, the hubby is also home today! That means there are LOTS of distractions and excuses for me to not continue with my health and fitness journey until the normal routine picks back up in September! ⠀
BUT I refuse to give up on myself! Alarm went off at 6:30am today, I got up, got my workout in, got some work done, and some caffeine into me all before the kids were up and mobile! I am ready to take on whatever today throws at me! First up planning a Jeep Adventure!⠀

This is what health and fitness looks like. Getting out of bed on a cold winters morning to exercise because it's the only time you've got and you know you should. It's been many years now that I've trained outdoors in the early mornings with a head torch and it's got me to where I am today. Shoutout to all the amazing people that get up at 5.30 every morning to train with me.
