Mango sago @wcdcafe is thick and creamy. I'd prefer it with a little more texture and contrast in flavours via more tangy pomelo pieces, but overall its good. It's one of my favourite desserts to have at home, which is probably why I have higher expectations, but its an overall good dessert and a chill hang out spot. It was our first time there. And my friends and I enjoyed reliving simpler times laughing over (failed) games of electronic darts and just enjoying each other's company while having something to do.
THIS THURSDAY! Join travelling troubador @wesleyattewmusic for a cosy winter's evening of rich indie folk lyricism and sounds. Also performing in the intimate setting of @kingscafe.winebar is Irish folk artist @garyoneillmusic, electro-acoustic duo @vvolvesmusic and loop artist @instabeebe

Wesley Attew is an English singer/songwriter now based in Vancouver, Canada. He draws his style from a range of influences – mainly composed of modern day Indie folk-rock and 60s & 70s folk music. He displays a refreshing honesty through his hard-hitting poetic lyricism and expressive melodies.
OK. So @theamericanvancouver was not quite what I was expecting. It was Friday. The puppy was asleep. I just wanted a burger and a craft beer. And I’d heard good things.
But I was a bit thrown off when I saw a doorman, then even more so when I got ID’d (I’m double drinking age) and hand-stamped.
My wife and I kinda just thought we were going to a casual pub...
I get it, though. It’s a lively place. It’s a bar, not a pub. Just also with hamburgers.
I was the oldest person there, or damn close to it. The ironic pinball machines on the south wall, well, I remember them the first time around.
Two cheeseburgers. Fries. A pint of Four Winds and a Paloma.
I’ll admit to being a little underwhelmed when the burger showed up, but that faded fast on the first chomp. Moist. Cooked perfectly. Cheesy. I think it might have had Thousand Island dressing—a nod to an old school diner.
Tasty AF, as the kids say.
I’d go back. But probably for lunch.
Lately I’ve been resting in the fact that there’s a time for everything. I used to think I had to have it all figured out all at once, all the pieces in place and keep them there — but now, if I’m enjoying my time, I truly enjoy it, because everything is temporary, and if I’m going through sometime rough, I feel it, because everything is temporary. There is a time for everything, and as I said as a wee child, it’s important to, “take your time!” Why not own what you’ve been given? Feel like sleeping, sleep, feel like running, run.✨This is another card in a series I’ve been making. All are up for sale by donation.
