I remember back in time when I started to eat healthy, people around used to think I was definitely going to be hungry because eating only vegetables would not fill my stomach enough... It was a surprise when I opened my lunch box and it was a delicious meal full of healthy nutritious ingredients including all of the food groups: carbs, protein, fats 🤗 And since then it makes me wonder what does “healthy” really mean? To lots of people it’s simply lettuce, carrot sticks and tomatoes 👉🏼 restrictions and limited amounts. To me “healthy” means fueling my body with the food I love (wholesome and colorful that nourish my body), eating according to my preferences, listening to my body, trying new ingredients and recipes and most of all keeping the balance. And what does “healthy” mean to you? I would love to hear your thoughts on this matter 🙌🏼😍

She tells me what types of food I should be eating and when - and I feel satisfied, energized and totally motivated to stay on track. 
I was nervous about the timed eating - and especially the morning meal, but I am just about a week in and I am absolutely loving it. A LOT. 
My metabolism is in high gear!

FOOOODDDDD!!! 🍌🍓🍳🐥 Ok, now that I have your attention, one of the questions I love to answer most from people is about grocery shopping/eating healthy with a child (who wont eat anything 🤦🏼‍♀️) AND somehow staying on a tight budget... well, here’s the long and short of it. 
1. WILL...Know what you (and your kiddo) WILL eat. I could spend $1 for 10 lbs of lettuce (cause its “healthfood” right?) 😝, but knowing that I wont actually eat it makes that a $1 wasted. 💸💸 2. WATCH... Once you know the basics of what you WILL eat, WATCH what you eat... both macro-wise and vendor-wise.  Being on a high-protein plan I really dont get hungry enough between meals to spend money on snacks (unless its leg day or a longgg work day) so snacks arent typically a big focus/expense for me. However, I like to keep these Kroger Carbmaster yogurts handy (note: that and some cheese at Chipotle are pretty much the only sources of dairy I eat). Cheap ( .40 apiece), quick protein.. I really like Kroger (Fry’s, Fred Meyer, etc) for their produce and deals on meat alot better than Wal-Mart (especially since Wal-Mart stopped price matching last year 🤨).. Ground turkey is BOGO at Frys right now (hint hint 😉).. 3. Then you WAIT.... wait for sales, deals, coupons, etc. to load up. This entire load (which includes 4 lbs of chicken, 2 lbs of lean ground turkey, several pounds of fresh fruit..) all cost me a whopping $29. 🤭 yup.. when it could easily been double that price just a few days ago. 
I know, this load is not the most exciting food in the world (Oreo's and Cheeze-Its are about as exciting as it gets around here), but at least its versatile.. can use most of these ingredients for all three meals and snacks for us this week.. Non ci sentiamo da un po' 🤗 che dire, ieri a danza è stato abbastanza faticoso, ma perché sono io a non essere poi così tanto in forma 🙈 e dopo con M. si è rivelata una seduta piacevole, è bello parlare con lei e sentire ciò che ha da dirmi, molto spesso qualcosa che mi spiazza in modo positivo. Oggi invece, ho passato un bel pomeriggio con mamma, e mi mancava sentirmi così, ovvero quasi spensierata godendomi un pomeriggio shoppingoso 😍😎 ho trovato un paio di stivali molto belli e una borsa bellissimissima che userò per danza 😍😍 per finire in bellezza la serata, c'era lui, sì, il mio adorato Sir Salmon 😂😂😂 Ora vado a guardarmi la 3x02 di Stranger Things 😎 qualcuno fissato come me? Dig in to the perfect snack!  You’ll want to make a big batch of this super simple turmeric hummus and put it on everything... yes everything! 😆

Ingredients:
1 can of chickpeas (well rinsed)
1 clove of garlic
1 ts of organic turmeric powder
2 tbs of fresh lemon juice
a pinch of dried oregano
1/2 cup of premium olive oil
salt & pepper to taste

Instructions:
Blend all the ingredients in a food processor, gradually adding the olive oil until smooth and emulsified. For a fun twist, try roasting some of the chickpeas with EVOO, turmeric and some smoky paprika for a crunchy garnish!

I feel like I'm changing every day... for the better... in so many aspects of my life.

Growing up and realizing what really matters. Some of which has felt unfair at times as to what I've had to face at the age of 28. But you can be the victim...or you can choose to be the victor.

In my relationships I've realized I've needed to become more vulnerable. Just down any barriers and stop protecting yourself and let yourself just be loved. 
In my business I remember why I do it: to hear people say they feel encouraged. Confident. A shift in mindset. The physical part is just a side effect of what is happening in your head.

In my nutrition...I've opened my mind. Eat what I feel like. Listen to my gut (literally) don't try to be perfect.

In my fitness I'm looking forward to my home workouts. I'm focusing on being strong. Strong for life. Not for a number, dress size or aesthetic reason. For me. My future family. The girl that used to think she would lose fitness after a day off or bu "just" doing home workouts can kiss my butt..after 2 weeks without the gym I ran nearly 5 miles today piece of cake.

Always be evolving.
Always be changing for the better.
Live as graceful as you can be in the  moment. 
Cry and scream when you need to.
Laugh, smile and love more.

Day 13 of my Sugar Detox and I made a little boo-boo. In my experience, most people think diabetes is so “easy” to “manage.” “Oh...don’t you just look at the carbs and take the appropriate amount of insulin?” I only wish and dream it was that easy.  Bring on Picture.... I didn’t eat a single carb (not 1g) to produce this spike. This is solely from having 0.0 insulin on board (in my system) and going to Hot Yoga. I miscalculated how much sugar my liver was going to release (most people would have no idea where to begin to make this calculation) because of my exertion level. It seems odd to take insulin if you are not eating, but your body is an incredible machine and knows what it needs. So of course my liver knows I’m exercising and knows I need sugar for that energy. The amount of sugar released is directly related to the energy exertion. A light Yin Yoga class would not have had the same affect. I ended up taking a little insulin 15 minutes in to class (takes ~15 minutes to start working) and at the 45 min mark I was still on the upward trend so I took a little more insulin and after class was over (9a-10:30a) I was finally trending down. The hard part is taking just the right amount of insulin at just the right times for food, exercise, change in hormones, immunity issues, etc so that you keep a straight line (like a person with a working pancreas). This is why my straight line from 1/17 was so amazing as it is SO SO rare!! .

Times like this I have to tell the perfectionist side...Love yourself and use every experience to grow and learn. .

Hello loves 👋🏼 hope you guys are having a fantastic Saturday. It’s a cloudy day in San Diego(but still beautiful) and I’m actually inside cleaning and doing laundry😅  well, it’s only 9am and actually feels nice to be getting things done but of course I am a procrastinator too, so here I am sharing my recipe instead of folding laundry haha👇🏼
1 cup @traderjoes coconut flour
2 cups @bobsredmill oats
1 cup dried fruit of choice
1/2 cup shredded coconut 
1/2 cup sunflower seeds
1/3 cup flaxseeds
1/4 cup @nutiva chia seeds
1 tsp vanilla extract 
1/4 cup coconut oil
1/4 cup honey
2 tbsp hot water 👇🏼
Mix dry ingredients first then add the liquids. Measure 1tbsp and form then into balls.  Bake at 350 degrees F for 10-15 min and let it sit for 20-30 min. 👉🏼 you can mix all the dried ingredients in a food processor to achieve softer balls but that’s up to you. Also, you can add nuts and change other ingredients. Make it into your own and let me know how it turns out 😘

Hello loves 👋🏼 hope you guys are having a fantastic Saturday. It’s a cloudy day in San Diego(but still beautiful) and I’m actually inside cleaning and doing laundry😅 well, it’s only 9am and actually feels nice to be getting things done but of course I am a procrastinator too, so here I am sharing my recipe instead of folding laundry haha👇🏼 1 cup @traderjoes coconut flour 2 cups @bobsredmill oats 1 cup dried fruit of choice 1/2 cup shredded coconut 1/2 cup sunflower seeds 1/3 cup flaxseeds 1/4 cup @nutiva chia seeds 1 tsp vanilla extract 1/4 cup coconut oil 1/4 cup honey 2 tbsp hot water 👇🏼 Mix dry ingredients first then add the liquids. Measure 1tbsp and form then into balls. Bake at 350 degrees F for 10-15 min and let it sit for 20-30 min. 👉🏼 you can mix all the dried ingredients in a food processor to achieve softer balls but that’s up to you. Also, you can add nuts and change other ingredients. I remember back in time when I started to eat healthy, people around used to think I was definitely going to be hungry because eating only vegetables would not fill my stomach enough... Even though today was significantly cooler, it was still pretty hot and the bricks were still holding on to the heat (doesn't do that in winter though 😬). So the day was spent in semi darkness, the curtains drawn to block out the sun and heat. Didn't make much except some more semi hard boiled eggs for the week. There really wasn't much to do with this, just stick it in my steamer then take it out and plunge into cold water (although this time of the year, the cold water tap spouts out hot water). Then store in the fridge for the week. Our chickens are still laying despite the heat, so plenty of delicious eggs.
