I absolutely love food. ❀️ Also food preparation and cooking. And I get excited by food markets, with stalls piled high with colourful fruit and veg - common or garden or exotic. πŸŒΆπŸŠπŸ‹πŸ₯¦πŸ†πŸ‡πŸ  The number of photos I have of food market stalls from all around the world is ridiculous! I also have a terrible weakness for sugar, and I’m really trying to beat that habit. πŸ₯πŸ°πŸ«πŸͺ🍦πŸ₯§ I’m currently doing a January challenge with @thefreshlife_01 Alexa provides loads of delicious β€˜clean’ recipes so I’m enjoying finding new ingredients, discovering new favourite dishes, and the motivational chat from others in our #Facebook group is really helpful. It’s tough though! 
As my reflexology work is in the field of health and wellbeing, I feel I need to be able to advise on healthy eating in general, and know what I’m talking about through personal experience. I’m not a qualified nutritionist though so will always refer on if I think clients need more specialist support. @kateswaine is my nutritionist of choice in Edinburgh - she’s great 😊 Cleaning up your diet before trying to conceive is really important. I became obsessed with strawberries when pregnant with Campbell, it was my main craving (that and pickled onion monster munch πŸ™Š). 4 months on and I still love them just as much. I’m trying, and so far succeeding, to eat better and healthier in an effort to shift baby weight and Christmas weight (suppose I can’t keep blaming Campbell πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ) 7 pounds down and I’m feeling more positive, have more energy and I’m finally starting to notice my body changing. πŸ’ͺπŸ»πŸ“

I feel like I should probably be posting a picture of a super healthy multi coloured dinner for this one, but I just couldn't resist posting these beautiful, colourful acrylic paintings. They look good enough to eat...does that count?! Plus I've not really eaten anything of colour today...unless brown for chocolate counts? The boys absolutely love a smoothie. Either for breakfast or an afternoon snack. Lots of different things go in each day with plenty of colour. However if it blends green they won't drink it...so it's always fingers crossed that the berries win out....EVERY time! πŸ˜†Also god forbid if they saw the green shtuffπŸƒπŸƒ go in!!! πŸ˜‰

In winter we tend to lean toward comfort food, which in my experience tends to be rather beige... when really, with the cold weather and bugs going around, we should be fuelling our body with all the goodness of the rainbow! 
So instead if plain cheesy pasta, we had rainbow smoothie and broccoli pasta for lunch!

Today's mindful January is eat colour. I love to cook and add colourful fruit and veg to my food! Back in 2013/4 I used this Instagram as a food blog, and used it to document 100's of meals, less for 'healthy eating' purposes like is seen a lot now and more just because I worked in a greengrocers (for 7 years) and loved to cook bright, colourful, tasty meals. When my mental health went a bit south I archived all the pictures and lost my passion for cooking a bit but I would love to start cooking like this again, I miss these bright colourful dishes, the health benefits and also the therapeutic benefit of taking time on a meal. .
