Thrive - to grow or develop vigorously; flourish 🌿
What are you doing today to thrive, to help your body, soul, or mind flourish?
Today, I’m simply enjoying this @bonafideprovisions Thrive veggie bone broth and watching “The Great British Baking Show” on Netflix! 😊Anybody else love this show? It makes me want to run to the kitchen and make all the breads, pies, and wonderful tea time foods! 🥧🥖🍞🥐☕️🍵 (homemade bread for Thanksgiving stuffing is already on tomorrow’s agenda!) Happy Sunday everyone! Hope you flourish beautifully this week! 💫
Doing one workout..
Eating one good meal..
Reading 10 pages of a book..
That never got me the results I needed for my body + mind.
I used to be your typical gal who wanted a QUICK fix to solve the problems I wanted to change ... like my depressed mindset, my fluffy body, and my lack of nutritional needs that weren’t being met...
Ironic - but once I focused on the BASICS & added in the secret component ((consistency!)) - THAT’S when things started to shift...
And that is precisely WHY I continue to workout daily, fuel my body with goodness (while still enjoying my wine and treats 😊), and Read books that IGNITE my mind... •
And that is also why I continue to share my journey & help other women along the way too because since I’ve come SO FAR in over a year - my only hope is to help other women find the consistency and balance they are seeking in their lives as well...
After all - it’d be selfish of me NOT to share my secrets 😊💕🙌🏻
Wellll... the Meyer family takes another hit 😳
A 3 year old with influenza A, 3 of the 4 adults with colds, our 3 AND 1 year old with double ear infections, and half our kiddos with coughs/low grade fevers... Sweet Valory is isolated in her room (gotta keep the flu far away from Todd!!) watching movies and napping.. Buuuuutttttttt on the bright side, we are watching Rocky for the FIRST time ever!!!!!! (We downloaded all of them 😆) On a side note- we are forever grateful to my mother in law and sister in law for helping with the kiddos, cleaning, cooking, and emergency grocery store runs!!
I did a detox once (I was young and dumb).
At age 17 I followed the advice of an online detox and successfully lost just under 5kg in one week. 1 day after finishing the detox I had gained back exactly what I'd lost.
I aimed for quick progress and after a week of starving and short lived success I was exactly where I'd started... with the added feeling of being a failure.
Come January 1st there will be a LOT of people attempting similar detoxes/cleanses and other quick fix 'resolution attempts' and seeing great results for a very short amount of time. Then a few months later I'll be getting the influx of those people who have badly rebounded and are struggling to even maintain their state of weight gain, let alone lose weight.
(This happens every year, I'm not just making out there predictions)
Now that I've got your attention with a heavily filtered and posed photo I'd like to make a suggestion: maybe this year everyone could save themselves the headache and just make good choices with their food and exercise rather than desperately try to lose as much as possible before work and school goes back?
Maybe we could stop getting sucked in to the money hungry area of the 'health and fitness' industry and not throw hard earned money at hopeless attempts at the 'ideal body' and the 'miracle weight loss solution'? 💁🏼

On the blog today... What Is “Flexible Dieting”... Nutrition is both simple and complex. It's simple in that if we want to lose weight, we need to burn more calories than we eat (and vice versa if we want to bulk up). But genetic, environmental, lifestyle, psychological and social factors can affect our individual nutritional needs making them more complex. "Flexible dieting" isn't a diet; it's a nutritional concept where you have a daily calorie and macronutrient (carbohydrate, protein and fat) target and as long as those specific numbers are achieved, then food selection is left up to your personal preference. Here's the skinny on how it works. JJ-Fit.com/blog/iifym
