I've been on more of a cashew butter kick the last little while, but I picked up a jar of almond butter when I went to Sam's Club last week and SO glad I did-I think it's still my favorite!!😍When I first tried almond butter over 2 years ago I wasn't quite sure of it, but the more I had it the more I loved it! Crazy how our taste buds can adapt isn't it??
You would think this large jar will last me awhile but who knows-I'm basically a nut butter addict lol!😚😆❤️

It may be like 90 degrees outside today, but that's not keeping me from having a fall-inspired shake!😉I decided to do a chocolate and pumpkin combo, and while it may not be everybody's jam, I LOVED it!!! Got this new recipe from our registered dietitian actually-kind of fun to branch out a little bit! Plus, chocolate and pumpkin are 2 of my favorite foods haha😂🍫🎃

Been feeling a pretty angry tummy over the last couple weeks, part of the joys of traveling. I decided to cleanse for a couple of days and focus on liquids and raw food. It has been a lot more difficult to find nutrient rich juices and smoothies here. I am finding that most places that advertise fresh juice only have fruit juices, so that's making things a bit more challenging. Any suggestions?
Whole30 Day 19! Tiger blood.......come out, come out, wherever you are!... Ho-hum....still no Tiger blood and just plodding along 😔. Feeling calm and "sober" consistently but was soooo looking forward to the euphoria that people talk about. Guess it will just take longer for me. Anyone in the same boat? I'll get on the forum today and see how others are coping. I'm thinking I'll be continuing with my Whole30 into October and hopefully up to the new year, so I should get that "awesome" feeling eventually. Food has been good with no cravings which is bliss. I did not start this journey to fix myself thinking I would post on social media about it. 🤦🏻♀️ Why would I want to be so vulnerable? 🤷🏻♀️Why would I want anyone to know that I had failed? 🙍🏻That I had let myself go? 🤰🏻🤣 The thought of what my life might be like if I continued making bad choices... that scared the shit out of me! 💩 It took someone very close to me stepping out of my life to make me realize how bad I had actually gotten. I was broken, miserable and I did not recognize myself. Falling down is a part of life... and I had hit rock bottom! 😏Getting back up is living! I was sick of feeling that way! I was sick of avoiding myself in the mirror. I was sick from what I was putting in my body. I was the unhealthiest I had ever been. 🍻🍔🍷🍕🍟It took that special person leaving me to realize all of this. Looking back, I knew it all along, but needed to stand on my own and get my shit together. I am not perfect. I have a LONG ass road ahead of me. 🚘 I have a LOT of weight to lose... I have a LOT of personal development to do... but I want to live a better life more than I want to make excuses! 🙌🏼I am sharing my story because I know there are other people out there stuck like I was... not knowing how to get back up. Stop acting so fucking wounded. The only person that can pick you up, push back your shoulders, wipe the tears, mend the broken bones and get out of your slump is YOU. Now go and live, there is so much to be happy about! Start everything you do in life by putting yourself first. Everything else will fall into the right place after that. #transformation

Whole30 Day 16 😊 I can't believe I've made it past the half way point while being 100% compliant! So proud of myself. It's been a busy week here but I just plodded along and did what I needed to do. I'm finding I've lost my appetite a little and I think I'm not eating enough. My sleep has also been really bad this week. Is anyone going through the same? Or if you're a whole30 alumni, has this happened to you? I'm hoping it will pass and am still hanging on for the Tiger Blood euphoria to hit, but so far, just feeling flat. Calm. Revisando el botiquín, me llevé una grata sorpresa: varias cremitas de Aciclovir olvidadas en el fondo!! Aciclovir es un medicamento para los herpes labiales 🙊🙊. Quienes me conocen saben que es un mal con el que solía lidiar regularmente cada 2 o 3 meses (y a veces me salían varios a la vez! Un horror!) 😨😨 Tal era mi convivencia con los herpes, que siempre tenía un Aciclovil en la mochila/cartera. Siempre! 👛💊💊 Mi sorpresa fue al darme cuenta que hace más de un año que no tengo la necesidad de usarlas!!🙆🙆 Realmente no creo que sea casualidad… No creo en las casualidades 😌

En el libro “El estudio de la China” (el estudio más completo sobre alimentación y estilo de vida jamás hecho), el autor T.Colin Campbell usa una analogía muy buena para el cáncer que creo es aplicable a cualquieeer enfermedad: LA SEMILLA Y LA TIERRA 🌱🌱 Resumidamente dice que el inicio de las enfermedades como semillas 🌰, dependen en gran parte de genes o factores externos como toxinas, virus, bacterias, etc 😈
Pero su progresión hacia una planta🌿 depende de las condiciones necesarias para su supervivencia: tierra favorable, agua y sol 🌞💧 Nuestro sistema inmunológico vendría a ser esa TIERRA, que puede inhibir o promover el crecimiento de enfermedades🌱. Ahí es donde la alimentación y nuestro estilo de vida toman un papel CLAVE! 🙌🙌 Para darnos una idea de cuánto PODER tenemos en nuestra SALUD a partir de nuestras DECISIONES diarias les recomiendo el documental “Forks over knives” basado en el trabajo de Campbell y otros.

One word I keep hearing the over and over is MOTIVATION!
If only I had the motivation to get back at it, to start for the first time, to get up early, to work out later...
Yes, motivation is the word people use to show desire and intent to get things done! But all you need to really do is START! Motivation or not, a burning desire for change coupled with action makes it happen!
You have to WANT to do it, for YOU. You have to WANT to take the action for YOU!
You have to WANT to make a change in YOUR current behaviors and habits!
YOU have to WANT it!
That's it! For real!
At first it's uncomfortable, intimidating and may even make you feel anxious! But aren't all those things breaking through those walls of fear and GOOD for YOU?! Don't confuse MOTIVATION with ACTION !
When the burning desire to change ONE thing about your current life plan hits you, just GO. DO. IT!!! Everything I do, I do for me first and if I inspire you, FRIKEN AMEN!
Make it about you! Then YOU will be unstoppable!
