Still 2 weeks left of this amazing American adventure! So thankful we have our RV and can cook for ourselves and don't have to constantly eat out, although we are eating off paper plates and using plastic cutlery (using the dirty plates to start our campfires and reusing the cutlery). Here's a flashback to our first breaky stateside, you know the free kind you get with your 'Inn & Suites' accommodation. Besides how simple it looks, it was actually pretty delicious! Spicy turkey sausage patties, cheese omelette and hot sauce. Also very thankful we can brew our own coffee as this was crap!
OMG! This nut butter is the 💣. I typically don't buy any foods with added sweetener but, it's naturally sweetened and this may not be restocked in the grocery 😕. .
If you're local and into healthy clean eating, you'll know my struggle. We basically have two groceries and neither carries a great variety of "health food". If I do find an item I REALLY LIKE, chances are it isn't restocked because it's not selling enough to justify keeping it on the shelf. THIS is super frustrating and I blame these groceries for aiding in the poor health of our community. .
AWARENESS IS VITAL! All my healthy, crunchy, weirdo wellness friends out there.... We need to spread the word! We may stand out from the crowd but, we are pioneers in changing lives 💗.
Most people think that changing their body is solely a physical transformation. But theres a funny thing that happens once you begin to work on your inner self...the rest pretty much falls into place! Truly loving yourself and honoring your entire self mind, body &,soul is by far the greatest gift 💗
Wanna pizza dis? 🍕I never liked real ricotta as a vegetarian, but @true_food_kitchen's vegan version on their heirloom tomato pizza is amazing! I blame the black truffle. 😋 Even if you're not veg, you've gotta try it before this pie goes out of season!
Day 5️⃣/2️⃣1️⃣ Round 2️⃣ Finished my last 35 minute cardio workout of the week this morning in my living room. Wanted to share a bit of what I shared with my girls in our virtual gym group this morning.
I'm sooo hesitant to post this and was really struggling with how much to share as everyone has been so full of energy, excitement and it's incredibly inspiring. You Mommas amaze me!! 🙌🏽❤️ You've kicked amazing ass this week!!! And not being a mom yet, my struggles seem like nothing compared to what you all take on!! But hoping that in sharing, you'll remember this post and it will help you down the road. I hate to admit when I'm struggling, especially if it lasts for more than a day.
While I'm getting my workouts done this week, they've been a struggle to get through, and not in terms of challenging. I'm struggling to find the energy, the focus and the determination to get them done. And I really feel like I haven't been bringing my best self as much as I'm trying to. And it's weird for me because I'm not really struggling with anything in my personal life that is causing me to struggle so much mentally with getting these workouts done. I keep waking up each day hoping this weird funk has passed, but it hasn't yet. But I know it will, they always do!! I've had them before and I'm still here!! But I'm showing up anyways, to lead by example, to keep my body and mind trained in the habit of pressing play, and still working through to bust through this funk. And it's incredibly frustrating that I'm struggling with this after an amazing 3 weeks already of kicking some serious ass. And worried I'll bring down the energy in here, but I hate faking it and pretend I'm kicking ass for the sake of appearances when I'm not! Lol. It doesn't feel right.
So, giving myself a 5/10 today. I showed up, pressed play, got through it, and gave it my all in a sense of trying to bust through this funk, even if I feel like I failed a bit today. But I still showed up for me. Even if it wasn't my best, it's better than skipping it entirely.
So you may have these days like me, so when you do have one, just promise to show up for yourself, as much as you don't want to!💕
Dinner :) Another green smoothie ice lolly. I love giving Ava these because I know she's getting so much good things in them, especially her greens 🌿🍃🌳🍀☘ (plus she's teething so she's loving them lately )
This ice lolly has spinach, hemp seeds, banana, dates, omega seed mix and soya milk).
Butter beans, red kidney beans and sweet corn.
Sweet potato and white potato mash with tahini.
"What we plant must be returned to us." 🌿Plant positive thoughts and you'll have a more abundant, happy life. Give love and get love in return.💚 Munching some veggies & @daiyafoods blue cheese dressing for the dip. Found it at Nutrer's (a health food store) for 99 cents because it was exporting soon. 💙🧀Always wanted to try this kind because I used to like blue cheese before I was vegan 🤢😝and this stuff is really good!
As I expected, there were a few people pissed off by my last post, where I basically said that people who are condemning the Nazis in Charlottesville need to stop acting like Nazis towards animals. One of the things people told me was that I shouldn't be using the events of Charlottesville to promote my own agenda.
Now, tell me: if you were talking to an extremely sexist man, who was giving you a lecture on the evils of racism, would you not ask him to reconsider his sexist views, in light of his condemnation of a system of oppression that is no different from the one he chooses to support every day? If so, why are things different when the victims of oppression are animals? Right now, lots of people are denouncing violence, oppression and discrimination; it is the PEFECT time to remind them that they need to stop supporting the biggest, most violent system of oppression, underpinned by the most widespread form of discrimination, that has ever existed.
Moreover, I'm fully aware that many people will be offended by my comparisons between humans and animals. I get that. The way I see it, that's actually a reason for me to CONTINUE making those comparisons. Think about it: the reason why people get offended is because they see animals as inferior. They're speciesist. Well, if we wanna end speciesism, we have to challenge it. If people are offended by the idea that they're equal to animals, that's a reason for me to continue challenging their speciesist views. I mean, I'm sure a lot of white folks were (and still are) insulted by the idea that their rights matter just as much as the rights of black people. Has that ever stopped civil rights activists from being clear and unequivocal in their promotion of equality?
And finally, how the fuck can humans be insulted by the idea that they're equal to animals? If anything, I'm being disrespectful towards animals! Animals don't start wars. They're not destroying the planet. They don't enslave other animals. When I say that humans and nonhuman animals are equal, I'm not being insulting towards humans; I'm actually being quite generous towards the most cancerous species on this planet.
