1️⃣In a pot, bring water to a boil.
2️⃣Season boiling water with turmeric, black pepper & pink salt
3️⃣Add pasta ( @eatbanza spirals are bomb 💣) cook according to package, drain & rinse! ➡️Seriously, look at that color!! And not to mention the anti-inflammatory properties from the Turmeric! 🕺🏻Love this so much 🙌🏻 Inspo: @eatnourishlove ------------------------------------------------- PUMPKIN CASHEW CHEESE SAUCE: 👇🏻
1️⃣Soak 1 Cup raw cashew overnight in filtered water; this sprouts them < easier to blend, and better for digestion
2️⃣In a blender, like a #vitamix blend:
1 Cup soaked cashews + 2 Tablespoons nutritional yeast @bragglivefoods + 1/2 cup pumpkin + Tablespoon fresh rosemary + Tablespoon fresh lemon juice + garlic powder + pink salt & pepper to taste)
3️⃣Blend until desired consistency ➡️Love cashew cheese sauce and this was so dreamy with the pasta! Inspo adapted from: @feedyourglow 😘💃🏻
In the spirit of the season, I present the Fat Pilgrim at @fatsalsdeli. Thanksgiving on a hoagie roll! Oven roasted turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, sweet potato fries, gravy. Sounds like a mess, but tasted AMAZING.

Tryin’ new stuff for next week.. I roasted whole carrots and chickpeas dusted with cumin, paprika, chili powder and mineral salt at 350 for 25 min. In a small bowl, mix 1/4 cup tahini with a lemon, fresh garlic, mineral salt, pepper and possibly a splash of hot H2O to thin out. Drizzle over everything and add some green whatever you have on hand to break up color. These kind of plant foods make you glow. Make it happen. You won’t regret.
Post leg day eats! 🏋🏻♀️🥗🍠🥦🥕 This @erinireland inspired buddha bowl has all the goods - broccoli, rainbow carrots, sweet potato, zucchini and crimini mushrooms roasted with olive oil, garlic, pink salt, black pepper and rosemary + leafy green romaine lettuce + avocado and sesame seeds 🥑😍

Take 🖐cups: 10-12 large pitted @ndmedjooldates + 1/3 cup @crazyrichardspb + 1/3 cup peanuts or cashews + 20 mini #glutenfree @snyders_hanover pretzels ➡️blend everything besides the pretzels in a food processor til a “dough” forms. Add pretzels & pulse until incorporated but not too finely ground. Heat 1/3 cup coconut oil + 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder in a small saucepan till smooth. Press a heaping TBSP of date mixture into 12 slots of a muffin pan, top with cocoa sauce & freeze/refrigerate till hard! You’re welcome 😬✌️#makeityours

I’ve not had a bad meal since being here in Laguna Beach - the food has been so delicious and so fresh. This Thai salad @zinccafeandmarket was amazing 🥗😋
I know California probably has more choices of healthy options than other places in the US, but I make finding healthy food a priority when I’m abroad. I can’t stand being away from home and risking getting an upset stomach which is what stodgy unhealthy food does to me. 🤢
I also make sure I always travel with some @optibac travellers’ probiotics to ward off any possible tummy unpleasantness.
One more day of BBD with @jameswedmore and then tomorrow @breakingballet and I have got the day off to soak up some ☀️ and hit the shops!
I’ve missed my Secret Kitchen Club ladies but I’ve been keeping an eye on them all (in secret!!) and they’ve all been supporting each other in my absence and keeping each other motivated. I’m so proud of them and of the awesome community of ladies that I’ve brought together. .

1 slice rye or multigrain bread
5-6 roasted miso garlic mushrooms (from previous recipe)
Fresh oregano for garnish (optional) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Toast bread lightly. Slice brie into thin slices and spread on toast. Bake at 350°F for 10 minutes. Slice mushrooms and spread on toast. Bake for another 5 minutes and serve hot. (Serves 1. Per serving: 211 calories, 22g carbs, 12g protein, 8g fat)

When I first started making this batch of overnight oats I was going for a Blueberry Muffin flavor, but I’m a toppings girls....The more toppings the better. SO I’m calling these Loaded Overnight Oats |
1/2 cup of old fashion oats
1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 tbsp ground flax
1 tbsp chia seed
1 mashed overripe banana
Dash of vanilla extract
Agave nectar to taste
Toppings: fresh bluebs, walnut pieces, unsweetened shredded coconut, hemp seeds, and roasted cocoa nibs.

Sometimes traveling on your own is rough.
Like when you have no idea if you're on the right train and are frantically googling to see if the internet has the answers. (It didn't, but I was on the right train.)
Or when the internet tells you your plug adapter will totally work in x country and then you get there with a phone on 15% battery and the plug adapter doesn't work and you have to find a new one. Hopefully before your phone dies. (I did.)
Or when you're trying to figure out how to take advantage of the remaining two hours of daylight and you finally come to a decision, and then miss the bus by one minute. (Yep, that happened, too.)
And then you feel really stupid and probably call your mom and almost cry in the middle of the street because you obviously CANNOT DO THIS. (I confess.)
But then you calm down and take a deep breath and look around. Because, in fact, you can do this and you are doing this and it's actually going pretty well. And then you stumble upon a cute little Swiss chocolate store and chat with the chocolate guy and buy some rich chocolate-covered strawberries that somehow taste like the sweetest summer in November and take way too many pictures of them because how could you not?
Then, you maybe sit on a bench and freeze while taking in your surroundings and realizing everything is not just okay, but pretty fantastic.
Sometimes, traveling on your own is rough. Mostly, it's astonishingly peaceful and enlightening and rewarding.

➳ 3oz salmon, marinaded in 3 tbsp Organicville sesame teriyaki marinade, and baked on 350° for 30 mins⠀⠀
➳ 1 cup French cut green beans⠀⠀
➳ 1/3 cup @riceselect organic texmati brown rice⠀⠀

I use a tbsp of the sesame teriyaki to top the salmon with after it is baked for extra flavor 🙂

I’m Ashley, and I write A Lady Goes West blog, which I started when I moved from Orlando to San Francisco, more than five years ago. While normally, I work in fitness as a trainer and group fitness instructor in addition to writing, right now my life is all about the tiny little guy in my arms — Brady — who will be seven weeks tomorrow. I love to exercise and eat healthy foods, but having gone through some hormonal and fertility issues leading up to getting pregnant (hypothalamic amenorrhea from too much working out, to be exact), I learned a ton and now am all about true balance. No extremes or all-or-nothing approaches over here at all! While you see a lot of baby stuff on my feed right now, I expect fitness to make a comeback now that I’m working out again and hopefully teaching barre and Les Mills classes again soon!
