Throw back to September 2014, over 3 years ago when I taught my first community class at @madeinhackney. The rest they say is history and I have so much to say thank you to Made in Hackney for, allowing me to develop my skills as a cooking teacher and inspiring me to create so many delicious seasonal plant based recipes for the masterclasses, community and corporate classes I’ve taught there. I’ve actually lost count of the number of classes I’ve now taught for them, and it’s time to say thank you by supporting and raising the profile for their current ambitious crowdfunding campaign. They are seeking funds to secure their future to continue to deliver healthy cooking classes for ALL in Hackney and beyond. Amazing.
Can they get to £85k in the next few weeks?
So many excellent rewards to pledge for, not least the 1 day Retreat in February, because I shall be donating my chef services to cooking all retreaters a delicious lunch!

If you'll be making your way to the farmers' market this weekend, check out our website first! We've got a list of what you can buy that will last a few weeks or months, so that you can be eating locally even after market season ends. Squash tops the list (aren't these beautiful?), but things like potatoes and garlic store well too. You can find more info at link in our profile; happy weekend and happy farmers' marketing!
My fall CSA from @farmfarmcsa has arrived! Can't wait to make some roasted carrot risotto, jalapeño poppers, spinach/cilantro/broth, carrot top pesto, napa cabbage kimchi, and omelets with peppers and scallions. Looks like my weekend plans are set! #fromthefield#supportlocalfarms#eatseasonally
I want to be in the kitchen baking today, but due to unforeseen circumstances that’s not to be. I’ll just have to look at pictures on here for inspiration and get in the kitchen at the weekend. Happy Friday All!
Asparagus, peppers, garlic and straciatella. Every year, we count down from early August for the start of the asparagus season. Such a wonderful vegetable and paired so well with such a soft gooey cheese.
Every time I make this tortilla soup it makes me think of my Quita! Quita was my grandma and we called her by her nickname instead of grandma cuz it just felt right to us and to her! When she was sick from chemo she saw this recipe and said it was the only thing that sounded good to eat. So of course I made it and I’ve been making it almost once a month for the past 10 years. I love how food connects us to a time and a place. This one has such sweet memories of making Quita happy with food. Another side note, my daughter’s name is Eilee Quita. Recipe: Rachael Ray’s Chicken, Chorizo and Tortilla Chicken Stoup

We like autumn snacks. Persimmon is one of my favourite fruit this one is not ripe properly but I couldn't wait any longer...😂 Clementines is for my son, he just love them so much. We just started to give fruit to my youngest son and he loves to eat. And when we are having clementines he starts to lick his lips, so I give him some bites. Bless him so cute😋Autumn taste soo good 🤗
Do get yourself down to the Oyster Festival before Saturday. Ask Jo @sourcebristol about his '3 stage process' for tasting Oysters and give it a whirl. I have had plenty of Oysters in my time but hadn't realised how different they all taste and was really interesting to learn from @gaydarke how fabulous they are for you nutrionally. And... if you are an Oyster Virgin now is the time to pop that shell, I promise you will be satisfied ;-) #eatseasonally#healthyeating#shoplocal#oysterfestival2017#Repost @bristolfoodproducers (@get_repost)
It's oyster festival time over at @sourcebristol ! Until Saturday they have a dozen different oysters for you to try (including native, Pacific rocks and kumumoto) as well as a special oyster themed menu in the restaurant. Hallelujah!! It’s the season for my favorite pink monster, the 🐉fruit! I 💗 the sweet kiwi/pear-like flesh of this delicious exotic fruit! It can be either pink or white or both! This one was white and sooooo tasty! 😋
To eat, cut it in half lengthwise and scoop it out like an avocado (the skin is inedible), then cut it into tiny chunks and add it to smoothies, fruit salads, exotic dishes or serve it alone using the skin as a bowl.
Dragon fruit is high in fiber and lycopene, both are known to aid in cancer prevention.
What a scrumptious treat! Nomnomnom .
