Not everything went today according to the plan , I definitely didn't expect my microwave got on fire ...no worries, no injuries , just one dead microwave 😊 who knew that heating up the cup of coffee could be dangerous.
Italian Breakfast cake with a lot of chocolate , maple wine poached pears and spicy pear caramel. Unbelievably delicious , very rich , flavorful and yes , it's free of gluten, dairy and refined sugar.
Sleep tight my darlings 💕💕💕
Made cranberry sauce and I'm not gonna lie, I'll probably eat it all before Thanksgiving. So I'll make it again, it's that easy. It's basically just cranberries, cooked in the juice of a freshly squeezed orange, with a broken stick of cinnamon. Add a touch of honey or sugar, depending on the sweetness of your fruit and your own sweet/tart threshold. 5 minutes and done, I've totally cheated before and just used a splash of OJ out of the fridge, a dash of cinnamon. 💁🏻
There is only one thing to say about this Sicilian style Romanesco - yum! 😍 romanesco and recipe inspiration from this weeks @riverford box: divide romanesco into florets, toss with EVOO, salt & pepper and roast at 180 C for 15 min. Toss in a bowl with juice & zest of one lemon, handful of raisins soaked in boiling water, a handful of toasted pine nuts, finely chopped flat leaf parsley and another drizzle of EVOO. So delicious - I could easily have finished the whole thing myself 🙈 #eatyourgreens#romanesco#f52simple
Good Friday morning my dear friends, I'm already on my kitchen, Italian breakfast cake in the oven. ..pears and chocolate ...smells amazing. I love this special Friday mornings, then I baking last cakes for the market , we having lovely breakfast with a lot of coffee , reading newspapers...my work almost done ...I love this feeling
How's your Friday looks like?
My favorite lemons have such a short season , at least around here 😊 , making the "lemon jam " which is just the lemon and honey whipped together in the food processor, the best way to preserve the lemons. Just add a spoon full of delicious jam to your water or tea , and enjoy the sun in your glass 💛🍋🍋🍋
I've said it before and I'll probably say it again, this salad is the 💥. Amazing. From @cookinglight November, Fall Vegetable and Lentil salad. But it's so much more than that. Underneath all those fall veg (roasted butternut, carrots, red onion) and green lentils is a big dollop of Greek yogurt with olive oil, herbs & spices. The first time I made it with balsamic golden raisins on top because I didn't have pomegranates; today I used both. (And some croutons for crunch) If having both is wrong, I don't want to be right. 😋
Everybody talking about onion and pears , I baked tonight Caramelized Onion and Pear Gallete . It's absolutely new combination for me and I love it! Very French 😊 lovely , easy to make and definitely will impress your family. Will be great for a breakfast.

I'm so happy I found some persimmons over the weekend. I've been dying to try them. They were so soft that I almost suspected the purveyor was trying to pass something like a rotten tomato off on me. He assured me that they were good and I'm glad I took his word. Super sweet, like a sugary plum, they just melted into this bowl of tart coconut @siggisdairy yogurt, topped with pomegranate, pineapple mint, and @purely_elizabeth ancient grain yogurt for crunch. Perfect pick-me-up for this grey Monday. 😋
@blanchettelondon's #Christmas menus launch TODAY and @food_feels snapped up some pretty good shots at a Brick Lane sneak preview a few weeks ago... We're talking the likes of Dry aged beef fillet w/ roquefort butter and Honey glazed lamb shank tagine. The set menus start at £40, and are available in The Cote d'Azur private dining room at Brick Lane, or The Jungle Room in Soho. Christmas party sorted! #festive#food
Onion. Maybe not as fashionable or attractive as avocado. But an ingredient that is at the base of so many recipes. It only takes an onion baking in a pan to make people say: 'it smells so good here, what are you making?' I love simple and humble ingredients like that and for my #veganin7cookbook I created this caramelized red onion galette, based on the traditional french 'pissaladière'. A true flavor explosion created by a cheap and local ingredient that is what is good and simple cooking can do, truly. So next time you see onions, grab some and make it the star of your meal! Happy new week 💛
I ran all over town this morning looking for a market that only exists in the future, one week to be exact. Luckily my local farm stand had these gorgeous greens, I tossed them in a teensy bit of balsamic & olive oil and they made a perfect nest for fried speck prosciutto, a leftover mashed potato cake, and a poached farm egg with two tone gomasio. All my frustrations dissipated like that oozy egg yolk. 😌Happy Sunday. ✌️
Now when the weekend rolls around I'm craving sweet potato nachoes. (Inspired by @madelinemhall) We made them with chili powder & olive oil coated roasted sweet potato slices, topped with shredded cheese, black beans, fresh salsa, scallions & avocado. Let's keep those weekends coming. 🙌
