Growing my own basil and mint 🌱was initially just one more step on the #zerowaste journey (#packagefree #plasticfree herbs!) but it has become so much more. It has become a bit of a joyful morning ritual to say good morning🌻to them, check for new growth, water them💦, even run my hands through the leaves and inhale that deliciously fresh aroma ☺️. One lemon balm died on me earlier, probably due to underwatering and overheating (and my mistaking it for mint...). 😞 Not willing to give up, I found this ceramic self-watering planter and have since watched with awe how thirsty my little buddies are and also how well they’re doing now! cranberry love ❤️ recipe below ⤵️ is there anything like #cranberrysauce to bring us all into the holiday mood? while my fellow american friends are celebrating #THANKSGIVING atm, i decided to join the celebrations with some of my homemade cranberry sauce i made last week while visiting @polishvegangirl in Poland! i love making mine with orange juice and loads of cinnamon! and you? 🍊🍊🍊 CRANBERRY SAUCE with orange juice :
🔸2 cups of fresh cranberries
🔸juice of one big orange (about 150-200 ml)
🔸1/2 tsp of ground cinnamon
🔸2 cloves
🔸2 allspice
🔸about 1 tbsp of liquid sweetener, to taste (maple, agave, etc.) put everything except the liquid sweetener in a small sauce pan, bring to a boil, reduce the heat and lots simmer until the cranberries break down under the a spoon and turn into a thick compote. remove the clove + allspice and add liquid sweetener to taste. et voilà! #veganrecipes

In order to grow citrus trees successfully , they will need regular watering, particularly during the time they are flowering and fruit is forming. The soil should be well drained and kept moist at all times. For the rest of the year, make sure that the trees do not dry out completely. 
5 hours of sunshine a day will be needed for maximum fruiting. 
The trees will not need pruning to fruit well.
For the South African climates, apply a balanced fertiliser that has a high nitrogen and medium potassium level in July, December and March.  In addition, give the tree 75g of Epsom salts (magnesium sulphate) three times a year.

Recipe vegan cheesecake:

Ingredients:
Base:
1 cup crumbled crispbread or shortbread
3-4 tbsp melted coconut oil
2 tbsp agave syrup 
Filling: 
1 cup vegan creamcheese 
1 can fullfat coconut milk (only the solid part of the can)
2 tbsp vanilla extract 
5 tbsp syrup, erythritol or sweetener of choice 
1 tbsp cornstarch 
1/2 cup soaked cashews 
Topping:
Fruits or fruit puree of choice (I made a fruit puree out of 1 cup fresh raspberries and added 1 tbsp agar). Instruction:
Melt the coconut oil, mix with crumbled rusk and agave syrup. Place into a greased baking form and press it down firmly. Blend the soaked cashews and then add all ingredients for the filling (including the cashews) into your blender and blend until smooth. Pour this filling onto the crust. Bake at 340 degrees Fahrenheit (170 degrees Celsius) for about 30 minutes. Leave it to cool down and top with fruits or fruit puree of your choice. Enjoy! .

Happy Thanksgiving! 🦃 I'm spending all day in the kitchen whipping up a storm 🌪 Of the many dishes I'm making today is this sweet potato casserole with candied pecans 😍 The recipe is too easy: boil sweet potatoes and peel skin under running water. Blend potatoes with 1 cup coconut milk until creamy. For the candied pecans, coat raw pecans in honey and a sprinkle of salt. Bake at 325F until warm and let cool.

I went to a friend's house to eat and they had their usual ass stuffed, dead animal on their table, and of course, I brought my own stuff.

They were asking how and what and why, as usual, I explained everything and even shared a bit of what I made with them plus the apple pie and some cashew ice cream (not pictured) and those that tasted it, absolutely loved it.

I think I planted a little tiny seed that will eventually grow. I spent a year, maybe even longer actually, not being able to run without the inevitable fall out pain that is the shittious feels of plantar fasciitis. Ugh, even saying that gives me the heebie jeebies. I mean is there anything douchier sounding than plantar fasciitis? I think not.

And coincidentally, once I stopped treating my body like an asshole and finally gave it downtime it needed to heal that injury, I also decided to take a bit of a different approach to my eating because what I was doing was quite honestly, not working for me anymore.

And boom. Just like that an inexpressible current started running through my veins and its electricity has me humming on a frequency that I just can't even.

I've suddenly turned into a perpetual motion machine that is so industriously run happy that I think I might actually emit low-pitched hum.

Like, have you ever been up close to a giant windmill and even on a windless day it's still thrumming and whirring from all the kinetic wind energy it has harnessed? Yeah! That's me! Harnessing the power of mother-effing carbs. Literally everything feels so vibrant. So alive again.

And the miles? Much like endless melon bowls, are going down easy. And if that means the ass I've been diligently deadlifting and awkward barbell thrusting into a shape that is not a pancake has to dwindle away in exchange for reviving old feels and passions and ravaging all the delicious fruit again, then this is me riding that current while it lasts with no fux given.

FDOE 11/22/17 (aka Thanksgiving Eve) (: I’m actually sort of excited for tomorrow considering it’s my first vegan Thanksgiving. 🍃I’m nervous too, but I’ll live. 
Breakfast was oatmeal made with vanilla soy milk and topped with blueberries, raspberries, a date, and sunflower seed butter. 🌻 
Lunch was macaroni noodles cooked with tomatoes, and chili + lime chickpeas. 🌶 🍅 
Afternoon snacks were the rest of the chickpeas (there was only a serving left after lunch anyway) and a clementine. 🍊 
Dinner was a boca patty, peas + carrots, and broccoli all topped with sriracha, and like 8 unpictured almonds. 🥕 🥕 
Night snack / pre-workout snack was a small apple, 8 grapes, and a small date. 🍎 🍇 
Possible TW but I’ve had around 1600 cals today. On the bright side, I’m getting better at eating more again without feeling quite as bad. On the other hand, I know this still isn’t enough. I’m also not sure how breakfast/lunch/snacks will be tomorrow, considering I’ve always been the type to eat tons at holiday dinners and I don’t want to overdo it tomorrow. 
Side note: I feel 10x better on days where I’m productive, and today was a very productive day. I spent 4 hours cleaning my entire room, made my own dinner, got a 45 minute workout in (butt is sore but it’s worth it) and I’m honestly pretty proud of myself. 👏 
If you read all this I would love to know if you’re watching the annual dog show tomorrow because tbh that is one of my favorite parts of Thanksgiving. 🐕 🐶 .
