Yesterday I mentioned #naturetherapy and how well it works for me. My family and I had another dose today. Turns out we needed at bit more medication. It's nice to know there's no overdosing on nature 😉😊. A day at the beach is exactly what we needed. Our buckets are filled and we're ready to go back to school. #lovenature
Whichever way you wrap it, being outside is good for you. For your body and your brain and your soul. I loved listening to @nutritiousmovement on the @slowhomepod talking about people who “don’t have time” to get outside (which I’ve certainly said before). She pointed out that we’ve let society construct what constitutes indoor activities versus outdoors and if we just rewrite our own rules we won’t find it so hard after all.
Eating for example; who says your meals have to be inside? Bollocks to that. Why not have your meals outside under the trees on a picnic blanket or in your balcony? 🌳 Or combining transport and exercise and outdoorsyness by riding more 🚲 . Or meeting friends at a park instead of a cafe ☕️🌷. So many options to get outside when you really look.
Me and the sprigs have been having breakfast at the beach lately and it’s been bloody beautiful, if not a little crunchy 🏖. And Lucy found a mermaid necklace so she’s pretty stoked with life 🧜♀️.
Last night we ventured out into the night and again it was a big success! Froglets, motorbike frogs, sand frogs and banjo frogs, wolf spiders carrying their egg sacs, orb spider PLUS a yabby and a long necked turtle! 🐸🦆🐢🕷🕸🦐New night walk dates will be up soon. Head to our website, enter your email and you’ll receive priority booking when new dates open 👌

@petitcollage I Love it! ❤️❤️❤️
I only came across this lonely bit of rubbish on my long walk in the woods today which was awesome! But this little carton got me thinking... I wonder if there are any fun drinking bottles out there for kids which are plastic free and can be filled with juice which actually has some nutritional value! I remember being a kid and loved getting drinks/snacks in 'fun' packaging but little did I know back then how harmful they were to the environment! Does anyone know of any cool reusable drink bottles for kids?! Defo need a kids section on my site!
Sugar x Boheme!
Our collection is ethically made by a small group of seamstresses in India. Our clothes are perfectly suiting the relaxed Australian style.
Australia, you gave us so much, so we give you our little French touch.
@sugarxboheme Love it ❤️❤️
Thanks for your inspo Iovelies! We just had a fruit smoothie boosted with hemp seeds and a superfood mix powder and a splash of lemon juice. (I do actually regularly make smoothies for Dahlia but don’t end up drinking any myself!) We also LOVE our stainless steel reuseable straws 👌🏼👌🏼 Like all single use plastic, disposable straws are a huge problem for our planet; and I have just watched a heartbreaking video of a sea turtle having a straw painfully removed from its nostril 😣 I’ll be stocking these straws in the Earth+Stars shop, including as part of an eco starter gift pack 😊 Check out campaigns like @noplasticstraws and @thelaststrawaus for more inspo. 🥤🍹
You can't see me 🍂🍃 Another opportunity of being lucky enough to test out @viraigs new line "Seaglass" made from 100% textile scraps! Such an incredible idea behind this line. Matching Booties & Aviator style hat.
Don’t you just love watching the little ones sleeping like there’s not a worry in the world.

We are BEACH BOUND for my triplets bday today 🌊☀️ No big parties as that's not how we roll, special time together as a family is how we like to spend days like this 🙏🏽 .
This time I'm NOT forgetting my #Lavender touch as last time Aniyah got a bee sting and omg the screams! Never will I be caught out with the kiddies without this super versatile oil. Whether it's a cut, scrape, bump, BEE sting or even just to calm the farm when things get crazy 🤣 #natural#firstaidkit on-the-go 🌿
What's the ONE Oil you have been caught out without and now never forgot to take it again? 🤣
Dolphin Girl is now Available!
Ride the waves of adventure with a young girl who embarks on an exciting ocean vacation. Dolphin Girl learns what it truly means to be a steward of the ocean and Earth. The book is fantastic reading for any preschool or elementary school-aged child. In writing and designing Dolphin Girl, Stephen continues the theme of health and compassion: "I wanted to create an amazing story that combined healthy food and lifestyle choices with environmental awareness. I am excited that Dolphin Girl will educate, inspire, and encourage children to choose health and compassion in their lives." Plastics and land-based sources of pollution such as farms and ranches are the largest source of pollution in the ocean. This affects every marine animal and requires our attention and action. Over one million birds and hundreds of thousands of mammals are killed by ocean pollution each year. Coral reefs are also greatly impacted by ocean pollution as they become unable to grow and reproduce.
Dolphin Girl is a beautiful story that includes education on the impact our choices make on the ocean environment and does so in a compassionate and peaceful way. Children are able to see how important their choices are and what choices are best to lead a healthier life for themselves and the ocean.
Update from our Eco-Hero of the Week, Ryan, for his work to keep our oceans clean and healthy: He recently helped to run a week of ocean conservation summer camp and at the same time had an online auction and all the money raised was donated to the @oceanconservancy!
He had ocean-themed snacks every day of my camp and also had fossilized shark tooth mining, an art project where kids painted tiles and made a turtle for the garden and water testing. It was so much fun!
The auction was fun and successful too – Ryan donated $2,000 to ocean conservation. Some of the donations he received where two pairs of ocean for parley shoes from @adidas, a sterling silver starfish necklace from @tiffanyandco, a signed copy of @sylviaearle books, a limited edition @guyharveyoutpost print, signed copies of pout pout fish books, a Secret wood ring, and so much more!
In February he is hosting a book fair at his local @barnesandnoble store. Scientist/author Ellen Prager will be doing a book signing and Sean from the “Stow it - Don’t Throw It” program will be out talking about his work. Ryan is very excited to be selling his book and doing a book signing as well. He also got to create two drinks to sell that day and decided on a mermaid frappuccino and a vampire squid frappuccino! Ryan is donating all of the money he raises during the event to the USF marine biology summer camp for girls.
Way to go Ryan! You inspire us all 💚
Simple toys are the best. More durable, easier to fix and often made of natural materials.
Although I imagined having lots of wooden toys, when my daughter was born, the reality is quite different. -
We have acquired quite a few plastic battery powered toys over the last couple of years. Mainly from well meaning family members, but also some bought by us. I always try to buy second hand so at least I'm lessening the environmental impact.
I'm going to make more of an effort to keep toy buying to a minimum this year and I'm going to try and encourage family to buy experience gifts rather than toys.
Up today on the @naturespremiere.podcast , our interview with Ellie jackson, author of Duffy the Sea Turtle and other @wildtribeheroes books! These wooden toys are adorable! @noc_noc_wooden_toys .
She may be little but she is fierce. Can’t stop giggling at Lucy. She saw a girl probably 3 years older than her throw her ice cream wrapper on the ground. Lucy was straight over before I could stop her yelling “OI! OI!!! Did YOU just drop that wrapper?”. The girl said “yeah - so what?!” To which she answered “that’s going to get in the ocean and kill the dolphins. Do you not care about killing dolphins?!” (This is not how I talk by the way when explaining things to her!). He little girl said that we were no where near the ocean which made Lucy turn around to the lake behind her and yell “IT’LL GET THERE THROUGH THE WATERWAYS!!!!!!!!”. 😆 I reckon it’s true that our quirks are our strengths... and she is certainly not afraid to use her voice. 📣🐬 Go Lucy!
