Happy Friday CakeHeads! Given the reflective nature of this time of year, I looked through some of my photos and compiled THIS! My favourite breakfasts of this year. Multicultural each one, freaking LOVE IT! From Egyptian bastarma and eggs, to Colombian arepas and caldo, or steak and eggs on my bday, (complete with candle!) THIS is how I like to eat!
#Egyptianbreakfast#yummy#foodieinegypt#falafel for breakfast = ❤️#foulbeans ~Ful medames (Arabic: فول مدمس, fūl midammis IPA: [fuːl meˈdæmmes]; other spellings include ful mudammas and foule mudammes), or simply fūl, is a dish of cooked fava beans served with vegetable oil, cumin, and optionally with chopped parsley, garlic, onion, lemon juice, chili pepper and other vegetable, herb and spice ingredients. It is notably a staple food in Egypt, especially in the northern cities of Cairo and Gizah.
فول مدمس -- Ful is a traditional breakfast dish in Egypt. Fava beans, garnished with tomatoes, onions, garlic, red pepper flakes, and parsley - eating ful reminds me of late mornings spent on the streets of Cairo. Breaking bread over newspaper and dipping it into a metal bowl of beans, thick with olive oil and paired with eggs and falafel. In Cairo, mornings were always my favorite part of the day. I'm happy to have the opportunity to share this dish with others, even if it's far away from the streets of Cairo. #egypt#egyptianbreakfast#ful#breakfast#food#chicago#cairo#breakfastwithkristen#foodie#foodphotography#egyptianfood
