This is bada** -- When California Highway Patrol Officer Tom Steiner was killed in the line of duty on April 21, 2004, fellow CHP Officer Sean Roby wanted to do something in honor of his memory. He sketched out a preliminary composite of the custom memorial chopper and went in search of funding and a builder that could make it a reality. Richard Griffiths with Hybrid Technologies came through with funding and contributed the state-of-the-art electric power plant. Keven Alsop, owner of Big Bear Choppers, took the initial sketch, added his own unique vision, and built the classy, seamless, flowing, one-off custom pro street-style chopper you see here. • The technology and design make this a fitting tribute to our fallen heroes - the CHP Memorial Chopper is the first electric chopper ever built.
