I was finally able to sit down today and almost complete one ear of this huge Elephant Rug! It's definitely a beast!! .
I know that I haven't been around or posting much lately... there have been some serious fighting issues between 3 of our 4 pups and it has taken its toll emotionally on our whole family. We are still trying to decide what to do and how to help them all, but man is it exhausting trying to keep them all separated for now. If you are an animal lover, you understand how devastating it is to have to decide wether or not you have to put one of them down. All I have done is cry and worry for the last 2 weeks. Please pray for our family as we make some really hard choices.. 😕
Baby elephant Dok Geaw and elephant Yai Bua who adopted him 🌴🐘🐘🌴 Those rescued elephants are now living at the Elephant Nature Park located in Chiang mai. Dok Gaew lost his original mother very soon due to abuse before he got rescued.
Luckily he found a new family at the ENP and got adopted by Yai Bua, a very old lady elephant that had to work at a trekking camp and lost 5 babies due do her bad circumstances in her old life. They care a lot for each other and are always together ❤
It was so moving to see that they were given a new chance to live a happy life now❤🐘❤ 🐘 ❗PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT ELEPHANT RIDING❗
Elephants are often taken away from their mother at a very young age which then have to undergo a procedure called "spirit breaking".
The babies will be kept in small crates and be beaten and suffer all kind of abuse so they can be used for elephant trekking or riding.
Please visit an ethical park like the Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai if you care for these animals and want a truely lovely experience where they can be happy. There are still to many people unaware of this horrible situation for elephants in Asia.
I feel a connection to the elephant for a number of reasons. Born and raised Hindu, I love Ganesha. The elephant is also my power animal. I've always been fascinated by this beautiful beast that combines strength with gentle grace. #elephant#elephantlove#spiritanimal

What an amazing week it has been. Thank you to the guides and volunteers for contributing to this experience. Group C represent! What an eye opening week. We saw heartbreaking videos showing the true side of elephant tourism. They mentally break these creatures and physically abuse them to perform for us. The videos we saw is something I cannot explain, just something you have to see. Please do not ride these beautiful creatures or pay for any performance. They normally wouldn't even let you touch them without being trained to do so. Not to mention what they do to ALL animals in the name of amusing humans. It's fucking despicable. They wouldn't perform for us if they weren't forced to do so. Even what it takes to make clothes for us out of their skin is horrendous. Especially leather. Thank you to the amazing Lek for opening our eyes to the devastating truth. I cannot ignore what I have now learned. Please find out the truth for yourself. Only education can help us and animals move forward. No judgement, only hope for the future. I too once rode them, watched them, and other animals perform. #staywoke#educateyourself#elephantlove#elephantnaturepark#muchlove
Hands down one of the most incredible experiences we've ever had. We just spent two days at an elephant rescue and rehabilitation center in Chiang Mai where we learned SO MUCH about these gentle, amazing animals. We helped to make food for them, fed them, bathed them in the river, and just had the best time "hanging out" with them in their habitat. Social media has brought more awareness to animal abuse issues, so we knew we did not want to support the elephant performances that Thailand and other Asia countries are known for, after seeing countless videos on how the animals are forced into submission by being severely abused. Instead, we did an abundance of research and picked to support @elephantnaturepark, an ethical sanctuary in Chiang Mai whose mission is to rescue and to provide a safe and loving environment for injured and abused elephants. In addition to elephants, Elephant Nature Park is now also a sanctuary to hundreds of abandoned and injured dogs, cats, buffalos, and a variety of other animals. Being here, learning all about elephants, and engaging so closely with the animals has been a life changing experience for sure...one where you will laugh, cry, play, and love animals on a whole new level. I would HIGHLY recommend this experience to everyone! NO MORE RIDING ON ELEPHANTS AND WATCHING THEM PAINT!
Life is rather lonely for old elephant bulls. Occasionally they form small bachelor groups and hang out for a while, but for most of the time they stick to themselves. The obvious exception is of course when they’re in must. This condition causes testosterone levels to increase a lot, making them quite aggressive. Finding a willing female is the only ‘cure’.
This is mudhole madness with a difference....Wild elephants enjoying their waterside retreat.... and the difference? These baby elephants are with their protective family. Watched over and loved. When poachers target their mark, she may be a mother..... she loses her life and the baby loses their mother. All because people who should know better can't reach into their hearts and protect these animals. Preferring to reach deep into the pockets of others and allow the sale of ivory, all at their expense.
There is a heavy price tag for killing elephants for their ivory. It's called EXTINCTION. Wake up World. Time to ban IVORY World Wild! Save Our Elephants!

I’m happy to say this gorgeous girl has the best owner ever, she took us for a spin through the jungle today and we seen some stunning scenery. As for the guy who cares for her, he’s amazing! He goes out in the jungle at about 6am to get her favourite foods, then they strut there stuff for about 5-6 hours per day. He then leaves her and goes out into the jungle until about 10:30pm at night. How do you find time for a girlfriend we ask? She is my girlfriend he says 💖 he said sometimes I do go out after work for drinks in Krabi but she’s very jealous when I get back sniffing me to find out where I’ve been 🌞💋
Ps she loves her Narnas, Pineapple and Bamboo
