I have a love/hate relationship with my food journal. Having to write down everything you eat, everything you feel, and every time you shit (and what it looks like) is not easy and kind of annoying. I'm scared... These are things I tell myself when I'm not ready to give material things up. If tuning into integrity with myself, It all really stems from a fear of lack and my attachment to/ identification with outside objects as an extension of myself or my worth. I surrender. Seasons change and things "die", but normally return or bloom even more beautifully.

It's #toasttuesday and I so wish I was noshing on this sweet potato toast right now! I wasn't sold on the sweet potato 'toast' trend at all. Until a week ago when I decided to try it. Then I was all in. SO good! .

Here's how I did it: thinly sliced some organic white sweet potato and toss it in the toaster. Yep, the toaster. It may need a second round in the toaster, just keep an eye on it. Then top it how you want! I did avocado, bacon, thinly sliced purple onion, Black Sea salt. My mouth is watering just thinking my about it ๐Ÿคค

It's #toasttuesday  and I so wish I was noshing on this sweet potato toast right now! I wasn't sold on the sweet potato 'toast' trend at all. Until a week ago when I decided to try it. Top Knot Tuesday! I feel like I've been at a stand still. Took at at home Food Sensitivity test from @everly_well because I have been dealing with some skin problems. I'm so glad I took the test because I found out I'm highly reactive to green peas and Lima beans ๐Ÿ˜ณ I never eat those, or so I thought. My vegan protein powder is made with pea protein. ๐Ÿ™ˆ So now I am taking that out of my diet and see what happens. 
The struggle with an autoimmune disease is you look fine on the outside but your body can be going crazy on the inside. It can be super sensitive to foods that your body thinks are a foreign invader so it starts attacking certain areas of your body. If you don't get to the root of the problem and heal your gut, you can easily get another autoimmune disease. It can be so frustrating. My friends tease me that pretty soon all I will be able to eat is air. ๐Ÿ˜œI have learned so much on this journey. So if you are struggling, I suggest doing an elimination diet. It could be something you wouldn't even think of. .

I was so tired yesterday, that I went to bed at 6:30pm - only waking up for bathroom breaks and when my dogs were being jerks (adorable jerks). When I woke up refreshed at 4am I was met with some pics from one of my favorites, who is honeymooning in Hawaii. So, I threw some frozen pineapple and mango in a blender with some coconut water and purified water and blended up this tropical delight. Update: Despite having to spend 4+ hours at Kaiser today I feel really hopeful. This is the first PCP I've had that isn't solely western medicine based trying to shove more meds down my throatbefore figuring out the cause. I'm starting out with a 'system reboot' elimination diet to see how that affects my overall system and helps my migraines along with a whole mess of labwork๐Ÿ‘โค ๐Ÿ’‰

Eating is social and builds bonds. The hardest part of an #eliminationdiet is it can feel isolating. Be sure to have a support team. Then after you get comfortable with what you can and cannot eat, venture out. There is healing in doing "normal" things.

After 2 years, we finally ate out as a family and all had dessert! This has been a huge process for me. Feeling safe to have someone else make my meal, not feel embarrassed for having so many substitutes when I order and ordering with confidence, knowing how to navigate a menu versus feeling like there is nothing for me. Be patient with yourself as you learn new skills. Just like you encourage and are patient with little ones ๐Ÿ˜Š

It is the small things that make for powerful breakthroughs and memories. Just because you are healing does not mean you have to miss out on life. Stay strong, keep searching your safe spaces are waiting. #foodallergies #eatingout #reintroduction #food #love #family #icecream #soulpoweryoga

Control the variables you can and set yourself up for success.  I stay busy, so I prefer to meal prep earlier in the week.  I stay within a set macro amount, but I am very conscious of my polyphenol and micronutrient intake.  These nutrients support my CNS and help my body with proper hormone and neurotransmitter production.  They also help reduce systemic inflammation and feed my gut bacteria. .

Basically my summer had caught up with me!
Eating ๐Ÿ”๐ŸŒญ๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿช๐Ÿท๐Ÿป๐Ÿฆbalanced but ....yet whatever I wanted and basically having no filter on my nutrition game left me feeling a little ( a lot) bloated! 
So it's time to get back to healthy eating for me! ๐Ÿ˜Š for my health to be healthy, to feel good and to stay young!  Who doesn't want those things?? Basically I have been eating a little bit ketogenic/paleo/elimination....๐Ÿค” that might sound a confusing right!? Well a few years ago when I started with my container system it opened up so much new thinking around nutrition and food for me.  You see I wasn't eating as well/ healthy as I thought. 
Which brings me to this last year- while I now have great ground work on how to eat and what types of food to eat....I now am focusing on how these foods feel and work with my body! 
When it comes to food and diets there is no exact "one size fits all" !  What I mean by this is that some foods might be hard for me to digest and may cause bloating for me but be fine for you!  So how do work around that ??? ๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ’ฅWe eat to feel good and to help our overall health! ๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ’ฅ ๐Ÿ’•I have a online group starting in 2 weeks and I would love to talk with you about helping you lose weight, feel good and dare I say....get healthy!!! M and I explored the upper half of the city yesterday. I think my legs almost fell off!! We walked through the Lincoln steps, Lands End, Sea Cliff, and ended at the Lyon steps. It's so crazy to think in such a small city there's so much nature! Happy Sunday fitfam! I hope you got out today :)

Today I wanted to give you a little update on my whole elimination diet experiment since it is something I had mentioned to you guys a couple of times before :) I spent a few weeks cutting out a variety of food groups, even ones that are deemed healthy, not as a 'diet' but as a way to identify potential food sensitivities through seeing how I feel once I re introduce these foods. 
I have found personally that I don't think it is any one food that gives me problems, but more so the pattern in which I eat. Even though it may be more convenient for me to have 3 meals a day, my body has a much easier time breaking down smaller and more frequent meals throughout the day. I also realized that too many raw vegetables or too much protein in one sitting is also not ideal. I realized that even though I had quite an unprocessed whole food diet previously to this, I was a lot more dependent on sugar than I thought when I noticed myself constantly grazing on dates throughout the day for my sugar fix! Along with this whole sugar thing, I realized that my energy is much more stable if I start off my day with a higher fat meal, and eating earlier on in the day. I still have plenty of carbohydrates in my day, but I don't experience that dip in energy mid day as hard, and I don't go from full to hangry, there is a gradual progression from one to the next if I focus on starting my day off with healthy fats! 
Note: this is just my body and what I noticed, this is not some set in stone thing that is the same for everyone. All I am saying here is it is worth it to take the time to really acknowledge how you are feeling and reacting to certain foods, and try to understand what makes you feel good and what does not. If you feel really out of tune with it all an elimination diet is a clear why to identify these things, but if you don't want to go to the end of the spectrum, just being mindful of how you feel after certain meals and making note of any patterns that arise between foods :) I also did not follow the elimination diet to a T on how it is written, I based it on what I suspected my body could be having a reaction to, and introducing things back in as I see fit.
