Day 25.
Can pimples really develop and ripen within 24 hours? Because then I definitely have my answer to the dairy question. I drank a glass of milk on Tuesday evening and by Wednesday evening I had 5 new pimples of the kind that ripen quickly and will quickly be gone. So while my stomach might not have reacted to dairy the rest of my body clearly did. Before that my skin had red spots but it felt nice and even when touching, now it doesn't look too bad but feels bumpy and not good at all. I hope it really was caused by dairy!

For breakfast I had quinoa flakes with banana and maca powder again, this time with my regular almond milk and it was as good as yesterday. I think I have found my perfect breakfast bowl. I don't know if the taste of the maca powder or already adding the banana for cooking instead of after it makes the difference, but it's just sooo delicious!

What goes onto my skin... 🎉 I think we all know that what we put on us, is just as important as what we put in us. So I wanted to document what I use. This is everything; 🎉 Bath time is Vitamin C (in the water) to minimise the Chlorine, plus Mineral Mud and Epsom Salts. 🎉 My deodorant is Bicarb Soda, either applied directly or mixed with water, in a spray bottle. Both methods work SUPER EFFECTIVELY. 🎉 Herbal Toothpaste, I have to store up on because I can't get it here. These were all from Australia. The one I'm using currently I LOVE! 💚 (Kingfisher Mint). 💚 Lip Balm from Neal's Yard (I also use their moisturiser IF I need to use one... which is pretty much NEVER!) 🤣 Lavender Oil is my antibacterial, for spots or scrapes. And the other oils for mosquito repellent. 🐜 Then randomly, a foaming soap made from Olive Oil, from Greece, that I use for shaving. Magnesium Oil that has reacted with me in the past, by closing my throat (Magnesium intolerance?) But I'm starting to use very sparingly again now... And a Deep Heat product, from Japan, that works wonders on Mosquito Bites (if I get the odd one). 🤣 That's it! Still a lot of PRODUCTS and CHEMICALS, but I'm trying to minimize their level of nastiness by keeping it NATURAL! No more hair dye, styling products, make up, acrylic nails, nail varnish, deodorant, perfumes, and moisturizers. Getting there! 🎉🤣

I got the YUMMIEST vegan/allergy free cheezecake from the store the other day. @daiyafoods makes it, and I pretty much died and went to heaven when I bit into it. It's free of soy/corn/gluten/nuts (except coconuts) and it's the bomb dot com. Anyways, they make a pumpkin spice one, which unfortunately I couldn't find anywhere! Sooooo I did this... sprinkled it with cacao, and topped it with a vegan "frosting" made from pumpkin, vegan butter, maple syrup, coconut butter, cinnamon and ginger. And it's amazing! Can't wait to try it tomorrow. Staying strong by bringing insanely delicious eats to my in laws (who know and understand my shenanigans)! These turkey thighs were roasted at 375F for a little over an hour on a wire rack set inside a sheet tray.  I rubbed a mixture of fresh minced poultry herbs (rosemary, sage, & thyme), salt, and @kasandrinos olive oil under and over the skin. 🦃🙌🏻

After getting more results back and learning how many of my favorite foods I won't be eating anymore, I started feeling overwhelmed.

Did you know that 2 new studies presented at the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology (ACAAI) show that exposure to dogs may help prevent both #eczema & #asthma in children? The research team found that children born to mothers who were exposed to dogs during pregnancy were less likely to develop eczema by age 2 than #children born to mothers who were not exposed to dogs during #pregnancy. 💚 For the study, “exposure” was defined as keeping 1 or more dogs indoors for at least 1 hour daily. “We found that a mother’s exposure to dogs before the birth of a child is significantly associated with lower risk of eczema by age 2,” said study co-author Edward M. Zoratti, MD. 11.22.2017. "Happiness that lasts is earned through your habits." #improvementseason My mindset is now unstoppable. I could literally start prep tomorrow, and not be any more excited. I have to be patient though. It's still growing time. So today, I used Fuel from the foods I ate yesterday to have an AWESOME Glute Lift that left me hobbling out of the gym, and even threw in some abs at the end! My training is my number one priority right now: I feed myself to excel, I time it at the beginning of the day I can have the energy necessary. Developing my muscles is going to be the key to being competitive in that national stage. definitely seeing more size and shape in my glutes! Training them 3 days a week is definitely helping! I'm not done yet! I almost can't believe it myself but I actually went for a run today!! I can't even remember when I last did that, must have been with my mom when I was still at school. I didn't go far or fast but at least I went. I'm really proud of myself :) I've got a little headache now, though, maybe a drank too little.

Today I didn't realize any reaction to the milk for breakfast, that was a surprise for me. I'd almost prefer if I'd get belly aches from it because I know dairy isn't good for acne and then it would be easier to be strict with resisting it.

We made some delicious coconut chocolate oatmeal today for breakfast. Well, it's actually what we have pretty much every morning because the kids love it, and it's #eliminationdiet friendly. We took @bobsredmill gluten free oats, and cooked them in coconut milk and added some cacao powder halfway through. Then we mixed in a splash of pure maple syrup, and topped it with coconut flakes. These days it seems almost the norm to be eating a “free from” something diet, whether it be dairy, gluten, sugar, or something else. ---
It seems that everywhere you turn someone is promoting their detox program or sugar-free challenge, and while these types of programs definitely have a place, this isn’t quite what I’m talking about here today.

Don’t get me wrong, giving your body a break from less than ideal foods is a great step for igniting new healthy eating habits and patterns, and helps us develop a greater awareness of our food choices – not to mention the side benefits of perhaps feeling lighter, more energized, more clear-headed, and just overall healthier.

Ok....not sure if you have figured this out or not yet, but I AM REALLY PROUD OF THIS JOURNEY AND YOU MAKING FUN OF ME...NOT GOING TO DETER ME...just putting that out there now....k? Thanks 🤦🏻‍♀️

I have my laptop in a gym because I was that person that would go into the gym and wander around from one piece to the next and “workout” or think I was...get equal parts overwhelmed and embarrassed and just leave. ✨

I was also that person, that if I got busy, it’s the first thing out of the schedule, cause that was a lot when I was juggling/struggling to be a working mom/wife. ✨

Not dogging the gym at all...if I could have had a class schedule and personal trainer with me all the days 🙋🏻🙋🏻but yeah, neither my schedule or bank account fit that
✨

Enter onDemand, the Netflix of exercise.  It’s like it was made for me and my hot-mess, crazy busy life:
✅ workouts are short and focused, like 30 minutes or less 😍 I don’t have to think about what to do, just follow the trainer, 💦 and DONE...what a RELIEF to have one less thing to think about (busy parents, you feel me 🙌)
✅ trainer - I always have a trainer guiding me through the workouts and queuing me
✅ available in the AM, PM, at home on my TV, on my laptop, on my phone.  I can stream them or download and go....It has literally taken away every excuse to miss a workout
✅ community - this may sound crazy, since it probably looks like I am alone right now, but I have never been more motivated and supported.  My online community in these accountability groups is ⭐️INCREDIBLE MOTIVATION⭐️ over 3 years now and going strong.  I mean, how many times have you started, stopped, couldn’t get motivated again...frustrated and gave up? (Ummm, me!!! Well, not anymore)

So yes, here I am at the gym in my hotel...I have my workout up, ready to 💦 because I have a set program to follow, a group to check in to and a free t-shirt to earn....oh and I like being ⭐️ in the best shape of my life ⭐️ smiling instead of sneering at myself in the mirror ⭐️a mom that is helping her kids through leading by example 💙💙

Day 24.
Reintroducing Dairy.

Quinoaflakes with banana, linseed, maca powder (just bought it yesterday because it is said to have a good influence on unbalanced hormones, I love the taste of it) regular milk. I can't even start to tell you how delicious that was!! Yesterday evening I ate some cottage cheese and drank a glass of milk. I didn't have a belly ache but I could tell my tummy was working really hard, it made strange noises as well. I did experience some bloating but it wasn't that bad. Normally I'm a person who is cold aaall the time but yesterday evening I was really hot and also started to sweat and then was cold again during the night. I had those night sweats a few weeks ago but thought it was because of the duvet I have here and after a bought a new one made of cotton it was gone completely. So maybe it was because of dairy back then as well, but it could also be a coincidence and have nothing to do with it at all. Let's find out :) The eggs didn't harm me at all. Of course it's difficult to say for the skin because of the time it takes to show but I think I would realise at least something being different for my stomach if something wasn't good for my skin but of course I don't know for sure.

I wasn’t even going to take a photo but it was so good I changed my mind - hence why it’s mostly eaten just like all of the baked sweet potato fries I had with it. Chicken-Spinach Burgers

Recipe:
1 Cup spinach (fresh or frozen)
4 Green onions, cut into 1- inch pieces
1 Tbs fresh oregano leaves
1 Tsp Sea salt or Herbamare
1/2 Tsp Freshly ground black pepper
1/2 pounds organic, skinless, boneless chicken breasts or thighs
Extra virgin olive oil for cooking

Place spinach in food processor fitted with the S blade. Add the green onions, oregano, salt, and pepper; pulse a few times. Then add the chicken and process until the chicken is ground and the mixture starts to form a ball. 
With oiled hands, form the mixture into patties and set them on a plate or baking sheet. Heat about 1 Tbs of oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add patties to the pan and cook for 4 to 5 minutes on each side.

My fitbit was a bit off the mark this morning. It showed a great sleep graph... with REM and Deep at 24% and 15%. But I just don't think it's reflecting reality because I remember waking up from dreams several times, with a permanently blocked nostril all night (and all morning.) Despite no starch. 😫 I don't want to get up. I'm blocked. Awful. I'm kinda a bit out of it, and just a bit "not here". My calves hurt like crazy from hiking, and wearing barefoot shoes too. 👣😫

Day 1 I had beef brisket, garlic broccoli, fresh kale, sauteed kale, beets, and a few blueberries - $5 because kale weighs nothing! Day 2 I had beef brisket, cucumber salad, beet salad, a few blueberries, and a slice of grapefruit. I also grappled this matcha latte because I was really struggling to stay awake and needed a little something to wake me up. Not AIP, but not too awful since I've done a lot of reintros. The meat was not AIP due to cumin and a pepper spice, but most everything else was AIP and maybe + blk pepper .

Digestion and absorption issues are becoming more of the norm these days. Why is this an issue? When our bodies cannot properly break down food, we become deficient in vitamins/minerals which creates dis-ease. One of my favourite meals: rice with tuna and vegetables. It's really easy: cook the rice and add vegetables, tuna and garlic granules a few minutes before it is tender. I also like to add linseed to my rice.

I planned to introduce dairy tomorrow but as I'm afraid of my body's reaction I decided to introduce it this evening already so I won't have any problems at work tomorrow after eating milk for breakfast. I'll tell you how it went, I'm already really curious :)

I use #sweet potatoes in my fishcake for an additional nutrient hit & also add in some spring onions, peppers,broccoli or whatever veg is dying in the fridge. I also add some sea vegetables or seaweed for #iodine, a mineral commonly deficient in teenage girls or pregnant women and  essential for foetal brain development and thyroid hormone production. Best get this from foods and avoid supplementing without proper advice and guidance if you have autoimmune thyroiditis disease #hashimotos. Gluten-Free Cranberry Coffee Cake! I'm beyond excited about this coffee cake because it's not only delicious but it's gluten free. My son and I both had severe eczema as children. I love this recipe....it's relatively quick and easy and very flavorful plus I was making it before I started elimination and it fits the diet perfectly! This lil guy makes me so happy 😊 he's 10 months old and so many mom's have asked me if I was scared if he'd get #eczema. Since I had it really bad, it used to be one of my greatest worries that he'd get it too ☹️ and even if a small rash showed up on his face, I'd get so worried. He started developing a bit of eczema after I went on 2 rounds of antibiotics (it flared both of us up because it kills the good gut bacteria in both mommy and baby when you're breastfeeding 😖). Sometimes it can take weeks to months for babies (and even adults) to recover from this. I'm still recovering bcuz of my huge sensitivity to antibiotics, but thankfully - his only lasted about 2 months or so. But I had also used my Conqueror Soothing Dry Skin balm on him and I noticed the redness would diminish every time I used it! 💚👌 I also put #breastmilk on the rashes on his forehead, gave him baby #probiotics & #vitaminD ever since he was born, and made sure my #diet was clean because I knew it would also affect his gut and skin development. 😊😊 His skin has been clear for months, it's so soft that it doesn't really need moisturizer and ppl even comment on how clear his skin looks! 💚 As moms, there's so much we can do to help our little ones heal 👌 don't give up 😊 I'm also coming out with my baby & kid eczema workshop soon with videos from naturopaths, nutritionists and a dermatologist for parents to learn more about how to overcome this! 💚😋 Stay tuned 💚

No heating, just straight in the jar....wonder how it'll turn out?! Also, the net bag is an old one that I've kept for buying fresh produce from the market, for small things like cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, plums, etc. Super handy and can be reused sooooo many times

RESTAURANT LUNCH! Grilled Chicken Salad with Sweet Potato Fries 🍟 🐔 🥗 -
Well....eating like this surely isn't cheap! In preparation for Thanksgiving we went to Whole Foods today....and spent $100 on things I needed to make myself (and my brother and his girlfriend who are vegan) a great Thanksgiving meal. Afterwards we tried to grab lunch at a great little order at the counter Tex-Mex spot but I checked out their nutrition guidelines and everything had soy! I realized that I am probably not being careful 'enough' with the diet as I never would have thought that and had the information not been available, wouldn't have thought twice about ordering food from there. We went next door to a burger place instead and, with no information available, I ordered this salad and a side of fries because why not 🤷🏼‍♀️? I feel like some might judge me for not asking for ingredients everywhere I go but I think we are still doing ok watching the diet as much as I can and being as careful as I think is feasible (and realistic).

This soup is full of celery, onion, broccoli, tomato, cabbage, kale, carrots, garlic, ginger, turmeric and cayenne. I've reached week three. I successfully survived my first Thanksgiving meal without "just one bite." I already have way more energy and less cravings. Feel all around better. Less digestive problems and headaches. The food I was eating literally was making me sick to my stomach?!
