I shared this picture with a lady I met and she was blown away 😮 by the difference she saw from Day 1 to Day 11 of this nutrition program I'm following. To be honest, I'm super impressed too and can't wait to see my final results after another week. And to think these results didn't require intense exercise either is pretty amazing! 😃
If you'd like to work on your nutrition 🥗🍓🍠and head into the holidays 👻 🦃 🎄 feeling AMAZING, let me know. I actually have a Healthy Holidays fitness accountability group starting up soon. Drop me a line below, cuz I'd love for us to get better together! 👊
Here is the less glamorous side of my life: hospital lighting and bags under the eyes and ill fitting scrubs. Most of my friends are non medical, which leads me to feeling a bit like I lead a double life.
My best work days are often people's worst days of their lives; I recognise the perversity of that. Sometimes when I'm out meeting new people I feel as though my day to day is just so different from their day to day. It is a lonely feeling. I have been wondering if the personal sacrifices required to pursue a career in medicine are worth it. #emergencydoctor
So often I say "I got to do this..." or "I got to do that..." But today I caught myself doing that and said,"No, I GET to..." It's one small change in the words I choose, but it immediately changes things and gives me power, gratitude and makes me thankful for all the wonderful people in my life and the wonderful opportunities that always present themselves to me. Whether it's eating healthy, working out, spending time with family or going to work change it to "I get to..." and immediately take notice of how different it feels.
Medical Monday Case Challenge: Alcohol Dependency 🍷⠀
Alcohol intoxication is a common medical problem. In some studies, more than half of all trauma patients are intoxicated with ethanol at the time of arrival to the trauma center.⠀
In addition, ethanol is often used in suicide attempts. More than 8 million Americans are alcohol dependent, and as much as 15% of the population is considered at risk.⠀
Acute intoxication can result in respiratory depression, aspiration, hypotension, and cardiovascular collapse. Morbidity is often from co-ingestants or coexisting injuries and illnesses. ⠀
Long-term use results in hepatic and gastrointestinal injuries. Coma, stupor, respiratory depression, and death can result from high concentrations of acute ethanol intoxication.⠀
How much do you know about alcohol intoxication, e.g., drunkenness in your patients? ⠀
Answer this question and we'll post the correct response tomorrow:⠀
A. Adults are at higher risk of developing hypoglycemia following a single ingestion than children are⠀
B. The clinical course of infants, toddlers, and adolescents with ethanol ingestion and intoxication is similar⠀
C. The classic triad of ethanol intoxication signs in children includes hypoglycemia, bradycardia, and hyperthermia⠀
D. Children have a more rapid clearance rate of ethanol by the liver than adults have⠀

These guys really deserve a shoutout and the gratitude of our country. Nursing is a noble calling, but it can take an emotional toll. I can say 1st hand that when my patient is hospitalized from an inflicted trauma from another human being, it BOTHERS me for days and truly weighs heavily on my heart. Diseases are horrible to care for as well, but there’s something about almost losing your life from the evil of another that’s a hard pill to swallow. A veteran friend highlighted this to me from a military prospective as well. Those Doctors, Corpsman and nurses also see the worst side of human nature. Support all of them! And try to practice patience with us.. you really have no idea what we treat, see, hear, smell each shift. And we have to find a way to carry on and acclimate to society with these experiences weighing on our minds. #lasvegasshooting#lasvegas#multiplecasualtyincident#firstresponders#combatmedic#frontlines#evil#nuses#emergencynurse#emergencydoctor#ernurse#erdoctor#tragedy#ptsd
I didn't start my coaching business to make money. I started it because I wanted to CHANGE lives💖 and help people feel their best and avoid all the pain and suffering 💔I often see as an emergency physician.
In the ER 🚑, we have the unique privilege of saving a life ❤️ from time to time. But sometimes we see the same patients coming back again and again with the same problems. Until they make some lifestyle changes some of those problems won't go away.
But as a coach, I get to help people truly change their lives and make long lasting lifestyle changes with their fitness and nutrition. 😄It ain't easy to help people break bad habits, but, man, is it worth it. And the messages I get from people who are bitten by the fitness bug 🐞 and catch on to this healthy lifestyle 💪 are amazing and so incredibly rewarding. ⭐️ I asked a question 🤔 today on my FB wall -- What were you put here on this earth to do? My answer is that I am here to SAVE lives but moreover to CHANGE lives.
Our second conference of 2018 is in #NozawaOnsen , Japan. Nozawa Onsen is a beautiful, traditional Japanese village etched into the hillside. It is full of amazing hot springs, great skiing and fantastic food.
Our #MedicalEducation event runs from January 21 - January 28.

What's in it for me? 🤔
The other day someone asked me why I was a coach. She wondered why in the world 🌎 a busy working doctor 👩⚕️, mom and wife 👨👩👧👦 would bother to take the time to coach. She wondered what my motives were.
My mission is to empower busy working moms to achieve mighty physical 💪, personal 😄 and even financial 💰 transformations.
So many moms are overwhelmed with work, family and community responsibilities and put themselves on the back burners thinking that they can give and give without ever burning out.😤 But I know from firsthand experience that that is a myth cuz I have been there and done that.
After having my kids, I was there feeling burnt out, working full time and giving to everyone else without ever stopping to fill my own cup. I was out of shape, in a really negative mindset and just crabby all the time. 😖
But my fitness journey 🏋️♀️ brought me back from burn out and gave me a physical (I lost 35 lbs) transformation and a personal transformation on the inside too. (I am a happier and more confident person now). And now I'm paying it forward. And on a daily basis I get the most amazing messages from moms thanking me for changing their lives for the better and telling me how amazing they are feeling now.
Yes, there is a business opportunity too and as I am building my side coaching business, I am also building a life of financial freedom. (The money I earn as a coach is helping me tackle the six figure medical student loans that I still have.) What would you do with an extra few hundred dollars a month?
So many of us working moms are struggling with the same issues, so what drives me is sharing this vision for a different life with all of you. ♥️ What keeps me showing up every day is knowing that I am helping other moms achieve mighty physical, personal and even financial transformations too. 💪

Welches verwenden Sie bereits?

When you think back to your 💃Glory Days 🕺, what do you think of? High School? College? The day you got married 👰 ?
Do you remember those days when your body was lean, strong and athletic 💪? You played sports 🎾⛹️♀️ and loved being active. Your facial features were chiseled 👩 and well-defined👨. And you didn't think twice about wearing a bathing suit 👙. Well, it's time to get back to those days. Even though a decade or two may have passed, I want you to reclaim your glory days.
You may think it's not possible but I'm here to tell you it is. For me one of my best days was the day I got married 🥂 . I was lean and toned and felt so comfortable in my skin 😄. And while it didn't happen overnight, two kids later I am now back down to the weight I was on my wedding day and I even fit back into the dress I wore that day. 👰 I didn't do it going to the gym or going on some crash diet. I did it with the help of a coach and the support of an amazing fitness community. 👭👭👭 It wasn't always easy and I definitely did fall off track at times, but they kept me showing up daily to workout 🏋️♀️and helped me dial in my nutrition🥒🍒🍊. And you know what it worked and helped me make healthy long lasting lifestyle changes.
If you are ready to make some changes and start heading back towards your glory days, don't do it alone 🚶♀️. (Your chances of success are much higher with the right support.) Instead join me in my next "Back to You" Challenge Group. We start tomorrow with a prep week and I'll be sharing a ton of nutrition and fitness tips and giving away an awesome prize for the Challenger of the Month. I have just a few spots left in the group so if you want in drop me a line below 👇 or PM me.
C'mon, Let's do this! Let's get better together!👊
Zwykle jesteś miła, ale gdy chodzi o życie Twoich pacjentów, Twojej rodziny, rodziny Twoich znajomych ... czyli w skrócie o ludzkie życie, You are real bitch!!! Drugi raz ratujesz kuzyna przed wstrząsem anafilaktycznym... Czujesz, że kochasz Go jeszcze bardziej... Did you know that back in the day I kind of wanted to be like Barbara Walters or Connie Chung?
The thought of being on TV interviewing people sounded so awesome to me. Well, today was my Barbara Walters moment.
Today I launched my brand new webcast series called "Everyday Heroes: Saving Lives, Changing Lives." My guest was Dr. Maiysha Clairborne, an expert on burnout amongst healthcare professionals.
Thank you, Maiysha, for being the very first guest on the webcast. Your insight and wisdom was so informative.
If you are curious to learn more about burnout, check out the replay of our conversation over on my FB like page. Just search Mighty Mom MD
