It's the first day of fall! I love this season, and I *LOVE* Kani Botanicals and Palate Polish. I own multiple products from both companies and absolutely couldn't recommend them more. Both are small businesses based in the PNW owned by powerhouse women, they're ethical, vegan and organic (whenever possible), and make you feel and look like the incredible person you are. I'm so excited I get to pair up with them (and introduce you to them if you don't already know!)⠀
Check out yesterdays post for product details and to drool a little bit more. This giveaway is worth over $60!⠀

You MUST be following all three makers @kanibotanicals @palatepolish @littlebraapracer and tag a friend below in the comments on *yesterdays post*. Entries open from Thursday - Sunday and the winner will be announced Monday, Sept 25th!⠀

A brooch that I made 13 years ago. It was quite the undertaking as it consisted of 2 mirror image cloisonné pieces, or as close as I could get them, and I fabricated the body from scraps of 18K gold. The body was hollow and each granulation was soldered on separately. If I remember correctly, the body was made in its entirety before soldering it on to the sterling back. The front metal that is visible is gold while the back of the piece is silver.
1.25" h x 2.75" w x .25" d
24K cloisonné enamel on fine silver, sterling silver, 18K, 22K, blue topaz.
Enameled, roller-textured, fabricated, depltion-gilded, bezel-set.
Pauline Pendant, phototransfer collage and pen on enamel. Taken from a 1920s photo of my aunt, and yes, that is a little "kiss curl" on her forehead. Still a couple more lines to add. See it this weekend at the Edgewater Arts Festival, Granville & Broadway, Chicago. #penandink#enameljewelry
PVMA/ Old Deerfield Fall Craft Fair is this Saturday and Sunday Sept 24 & 25. Open Sat. from 10- 5 pm and Sun. 10-4 pm. This festival is curated very well, attendees will definitely love the variety of quality fine craft this festival has to offer. Deerfield MA is one of the cutest historical towns, and it's held in a part of town where walking tours are hosted, its "New England's Most Beautiful Craft Fair!" The weather is supposed to be gorgeous both days in the high 80s and sunny!
Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind - but how beautiful is this to look at. A rare 19th century dance card holder ('carnet de bal') with a watch in a secret compartment. Switzerland, ca 1880.
The bone case contains an oval polychrome painted, gold enamel plaque with a push button, conceiling the small watch movement. The plaque depicts three winged Cupids in a flower garden. The interior is lined with silk and the sheets are gilt-edged. The bone pen locks the booklet and it is also the winding key for the watch. Dial: enamel, radial Roman numerals, blued spade hands. Movement.: bridge movement, frosted, gilt, cylinder escapement, three-arm brass balance. #cupid
