“Butterfly, Pansies and Lady Bug” was engraved on castello boxwood by WEN member Robert Simola. An edition of 100 was printed for a WEN bundle that came along with an issue of “Block and Burin”. From Robert: ”The lady bug was in the original design but I never got her quite right so I decided to hide her behind the flower. I suppose I could have changed the title of the print but I liked the idea of a hidden lady bug. I wonder if anyone will turn the print over to see if the lady bug is on the back? If they do and don’t see her, I guess I will tell them she must have flown away.
This photo that I took of Vicky and Steve Everson who won last years main Valley at Work Award makes me smile!
The photo was taken at the Rossendale Business Awards Ceremony in 2016 just after they both stepped off the stage to walk down the corridor to be photographed professionally by @lizhensonphoto .
I just love the little smiley faces of Chris & Andrea from @deardentearooms popping up behind the unsuspecting winners... hilarious!
Well I've just finished engraving this years award and it's going to have something unique engraved on it once again not to mention this years Business Winners name which will go on as soon as the judges have come to a decision!
I can't post any photos of this years award so I thought this one would have to do for now!
#gustavedore#dantealighieri#ladivinacomedia#thedivinecomedy#schismatics#engraving
//LOVE LETTER TO WHAT WAS
History writes itself in golden
and boasts remembrance
of all that has passed.
It stands unfettered, beholden
in proud solitude, to
nothing and no one.
History does not wait.
History pens poems
and writes letters
It breathes moments
and exhales memories
History stays on.
So when today comes along
and carves its name
in history's walls,
the present remembers
that it owes its all
to all that was.
