I thought I’d try my hand at one of these flat layouts inspired by @darkfaerietales_ @myfriendsarefiction and @cbookaddiction It was kind of fun using different merch all together in a funky color scheme to match the book.
I finished Foolish Hearts the other day and I really loved it. The writing was fantastic and the story was the perfect amount of awkward, funny, and sweet. I’m kind of in love with Gideon, the male MC. Who’s your favorite geeky character?
Sneak peek of November @shelflovecrate The Unravel Me inspired pouch was included in the box and I love it. Use my code XENA10 when you order your box!
Elemental Unicorn mug from the November @unicorncrate I ADORE this mug. It’s one of my most favorite things I’ve ever gotten on a box.
Libra candle by @noxtolumoscandleco Take advantage of their 40% off on orders of $30 or more.
Night of Cake and Puppets print dim the October @fairyloot box. I’m infatuated with that book and adore this print.

📄 Resenha: Os Meninos Que Enganavam Nazistas - Joseph Joffo.

"Feminism isn't about making women stronger. Women are already strong. It's about changing the way the world perceives that strenght."
❄A. G. Anderson
QOTD💐: what's your favorite strong female character? .
It's not technically friday anymore where I live but I didn't want to miss #feministfriday !
To answer my own qotd, one of my recent favorite strong female characters is Blue Sargent from the raven cycle.
I read the first three books of the raven cycle this year thanks to a lovely bookstagrammer ( @paperlands ) who kept on talking about how good this series is! She finally convinced me to pick them up!
I will forever be thankful to her because, by reading tgese books i met one of the most inspiring characters of all time. I define Blue strong not only because she's able to stand uo for herself and she doesn't depend on others to do even the simpliest tasks, but also because she has firm ideals and is able to defend them withe everything she has. Even, sometimes, almost getting into truble. 🍎
I’m going to do a recap on the books I read this year in the last weeks of #December ❤️ I didn’t read as many as I had wanted but I read at least 3 books a month:) 📖 I started off the year with a great book by #JandyNelson called #IllGiveYouTheSun ☀️It’s a beautiful story about the bond and love between Jude and Noah who are twins. So many life changing experiences happen that their relationship becomes strained and they have to find a way to reconnect for their life to make sense again. You will not regret reading this one!! It’s a 4.14 ⭐️’s on #goodreads 📖

Let's talk writing! As most of us avid readers are, I am also an avid writer. In the bloggerspher we often talk about #writersblock but seldom do I see time management talk. So let's have it here! ***
I have awful time management skills @bangadybangz can tell you it is true! I work full time and when I get home my brain mush. I tell myself to write anyway but it just never happens. ***
So my fellow writers do any of you have the same problem? If so what do you do to get past it?
Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without the words,
And never stops at all,
And sweetest in the gale is heard;
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.
I've heard it in the chillest land,
And on the strangest sea;
Yet, never, in extremity,
It asked a crumb of me.
Dang, she’s good at what she does
...and she wrote this in 1890!
What’s your favorite book of poetry?
I need some new reads!
Jackson isn't in the mood, and neither am I! 😒😂😋
When you create a new baby who's so much like you, you wish he were real so you could hang out! 😂
I know guys - I'm actually posting a book that's NOT fantasy! Like whaaat 😂 But let's talk about this book for a second.
Most of you guys don't know this but I'm actually Korean-American (woohoo)! So when I found a historical fiction book focusing on a Korean family through the early 1900s, I knew I had to give it a read. It also doesn't hurt that all the reviews I've been seeing were so positive ✌ And so I read it. And LOVED it ❤ In fact, it might even be my favorite historical fiction novel. I've attached the synopsis below so give it a read!
Pachinko follows one Korean family through the generations, beginning in early 1900s Korea with Sunja, the prized daughter of a poor yet proud family, whose unplanned pregnancy threatens to shame them all. Deserted by her lover, Sunja is saved when a young tubercular minister offers to marry and bring her to Japan.
So begins a sweeping saga of an exceptional family in exile from its homeland and caught in the indifferent arc of history. Through desperate struggles and hard-won triumphs, its members are bound together by deep roots as they face enduring questions of faith, family, and identity.
#bookishrewind17 Day 15 // Best June read!
This cover definitely caught my attention. I bought this a year ago when my favorite bookstore went out of business. 💔 Now I am looking through my shelves and realizing I have a ton of books I need to read!
✨ What do you plan on reading next?
Since accepting a teaching position at remote Fairwick College in upstate New York, Callie McFay has experienced the same disturbingly sensual dream every night: A mist enters her bedroom, then takes the shape of a virile, seductive stranger who proceeds to ravish her in the most toe-curling, wholly satisfying ways possible. Perhaps these dreams are the result of her having written the bestselling book The Sex Lives of Demon Lovers. Callie’s lifelong passion is the intersection of lurid fairy tales and Gothic literature—which is why she’s found herself at Fairwick’s renowned folklore department, living in a once-stately Victorian house that, at first sight, seemed to call her name.
But Callie soon realizes that her dreams are alarmingly real. She has a demon lover—an incubus—and he will seduce her, pleasure her, and eventually suck the very life from her. Then Callie makes another startling discovery: Her incubus is not the only mythical creature in Fairwick. As the tenured witches of the college and the resident fairies in the surrounding woods prepare to cast out the demon, Callie must accomplish something infinitely more difficult—banishing this supernatural lover from her heart.

🧞♀️Never has a woman craved barrenness more than she
🧞♀️As she desperately seeks to abort this swelling mass of misery
🧞♀️It grows without end in the pit of her womb
🧞♀️Didn’t you know she was safer in her cocoon?
🧞♀️I wonder if you see her
🧞♀️Wobbling knees, fluttering eyes, sketchy lines
🧞♀️Thinned into smiles reaching ear to ear eerily
🧞♀️She’s straddling the fence of life and death looking at the light but leaning towards perdition
🧞♀️Her spirit in a constant state of should or should not
🧞♀️Her mind flirting with the delicate taste of rebellion
🧞♀️Tugging her into its arms of perversion and deceit coaxing her into the beds of despair and abandonment
🧞♀️She doesn’t mind the slow dance in the burning room because at least her Hades is kind enough to discern her
🧞♀️Because caring for her just isn’t enough
🧞♀️Or did you think faulty, 2-second, sideways prayers were enough
🧞♀️To hold her vase from splintering
🧞♀️After it had already fallen like the angels who chose damnation over the King of Kings
🧞♀️And yet she loves it
🧞♀️Craves for more because when did she become worth more?
🧞♀️She’s flashed these scenes of her true self all over your 50-inch wide screens, displaying herself in high definition
🧞♀️And yet it still isn’t enough to get your attention
🧞♀️Do you see her wandering through desert lands and empty streams?
🧞♀️Her arms laden with weariness, those dirt-brown eyes caked with sorrow
🧞♀️She meanders on, seeking for anything that will take her far and away from here
🧞♀️Her joints ache for a break from the heat of her trial
🧞♀️Her silent cries yearn for a lighter tomorrow
🧞♀️Her Israeli callings drive her forward each day into the next corner of this wilderness
🧞♀️Her Jezebel lusts crave the faux comfort of her previous Egyptian four walls
🧞♀️That squared her away deep in the crevice of its bondage, lest she break free and enter Canaan
🧞♀️Now, I wonder, do you see her?
Isn’t a book with a map so much better than a book without one?
