Earlier this week I was daydreaming and thought of the curation process for platforms such as Pandora. Were the playlists created by people or done with a program created that had a database to pull from?
Today to clean up I created a Lil Kim’s “No Time” station. I created this station because my "Crush On You" station started off with men. After 4 songs in, experiencing the same on the new created station, I realized the issue. 90% of the songs that were played were men, 5% were Lil Kim features and the other 5% were Lil Kim and other women artists.
The station was lit however if the idea is to curate of likeness, I was looking to hear majority women rappers with lyrics that can stand in the same room as the hardcore rappers of the east coast. The “Trap Miley” could’ve been played and it would’ve been more fitting.
Coming back to the thoughts I had earlier this week, I did some research regarding Pandora and the curation area. I located a picture on their site of what I assumed to be a representation of their curation area; *8 white men, 1 black man, 3 white women *disclaimer: Based on appearance. You know now, the DNA testing will have people arguing the 1% of West African bloodline, will qualify them as a poster child of diversity)
Furthering this research, I was lead to careers and I came across an internship for growth and retention in the marketing area. Although my main interest was in curating, this area is where it all begins for corporations. The ideology here shapes other areas in the company.
In honor and celebration of the #womensmarch , #Pandora you should sponsor me to come out to California to participate in the 2018 intern program. Who knows where this could take either of us. Hit me up :)

My nephew knows that "your silence will not protect you". The world will still have its way. Still push you around... until you speak up and speak out. Protect and uplift the women in your life. The ones that work with you, watch your children, cook your meals, lead your offices, write your books, teach your kids and the ones that birthed you, loved you, believed in you. It only takes one man to unravel a wall of silence, to demand equity. It only takes one woman to point the finger to put a face to the monster. A monster we can fight together. - T.R. Horne
This sketch by @pictureitpossible is the visual graphic version of a talk I gave on #Execution at the @pygacademy: It is a natural strength of mine that people often hit me up asking for support on. She literally listened to my talk and these were her notes. Dope, right!? Here are my quick tips as highlighted in the sketch...
1. Get clear on what you want to do.
2. Simplify - sure, you want to do a lot. Pick just one of those things that you know well.
3. What are the steps to get that thing done? Now what are the steps to those steps?
4. Organize your steps in a way that makes sense for yourself.
5. Define your audience. Who are they?
6. Build your product / service / deliverable. Pressure test it with a couple people to get an idea what questions people will ask.
7. Define success - how will you know you’ve delivered what you wanted?
8. EXECUTE! You only need 60% to go. The rest will come.
There’s more meat to it, but that’s the core! It’s still January - get your plans down about what you want to get done. This week is actually execution week for me...
What's interesting to me is yes, $60k is a lot for any new(er) company to commission a high priced artist!! 💰🤝🥜💸💲
Then David Choe didn't believe in the concept...🔌💻🖥📲🖱💰so why would he take that risk at the possibility he just might have donated to paint a wall of a failed startup should it have gone the other way, and it would be painted over by now!!🎴 **obviously we know the story turned out very well, I'm curious because I want people to blindly trust my concept as well! And in the beginning, I'm selling the dream with a vision of the future! 🤔🤓🤳💝💨🗯💫🤝👀👌🦄☄🌈🔥✨🎫🎟🎲🎯🃏🀄📲wondering whose going to be with me in this venture to GOOD.
We are always pulled in a 1,000 different directions, but before taking on a new project in 2018, ask yourself....
(P)urpose: What is my unique gift that I contribute to the world, and does this align? .
(P)assion: Have I set enough time aside to work on & follow through on passion projects I have started?
(P)ay: Have I defined and owned my worth$ ? .

Last year I had the privilege of marching with men and women across the country and it was one of the highlights of my life. This year I am abroad for work and unable to participate but do not take that to mean I am not in this fight. I am standing up, walking to the polls, using my voice on a daily basis to do more, to do better, to do something. .
It is interesting working for a global organization and hearing the opinions of people from so many different places. We use hashtags to say we are blessed or grateful all while complaining for lacking. We forget how truly grateful we are and that with gratitude needs to come a sense of responsibility and a mission for service. .
So today as I head into meetings, I wanted to post just a small sampling of the images gro. Across the U.S. ad women and men continue to march and use their voice to resist as. I stand, walk and speak with you but I also ask that the marching not be the only action, the only words we use to resist and to remember that it's not just about equality but instead equity. It is important we know the difference.
I'm excited to have been hired as an assistant stage manager by the metropolitan playhouse. It was an amazing experience today watching equity actors rehearse. Hearing their stories inspired me, and I am grateful to learn about this particular part of the industry 🤗. #stagemanager#equity#actor#actress#offbroadway
