🎉🏆🎉 COMMUNITY, FELLOWSHIP, NETWORKING, and WEALTH BUILDING were the topics of #TheWattsTeam ’s FINAL #CoffeeAndCredit for 2017!!! For all those who came out (or truly wanted to but could not attend) THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts 💞! The HIGHEST of thanks goes to THE Powerhouse, Cheryl Walker of Stifel Bank & Trust who SPOKE about the foundation of WEALTH, CREDIT BUILDING, and our favorite ‘R’ word, RESOURCES 💲💲💲 As well the INCOMPARABLE Debra Mothershed-Black who provided HER ministry and triumphs as well as (short-lived) missteps on her journey in INVESTING in REAL ESTATE. She shared that with the right MINDSET, you WILL be VICTORIOUS 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 And lastly, a special thanks to Marcus Adams of Midwest Bank Centre (whom we are doing a HOMEOWNERS workshop with this December 9th....details to follow 💫) for closing out our #ThirdThursdays#CoffeandCredit with a ‘WORD’ and a PLAN!!! 🔥🔥🔥 We are SO grateful to these wonderful speakers and to ALL who attended. Once again, your support and want for knowledge and empowerment should be APPLAUDED!
If you could not make it or are looking forward to attending again, #TheWattsTeam ’s FREE Series #CoffeeandCredit will return in January of 2018. Hope to see you all there 🏡💫🙏🏾! Nell Watts

Attending Changing the Future for Children of Addicted Parents conference for work today. It is so clear that on a national stage we CANNOT cut funding for healthcare, child care, mental health, housing, and social services for those most vulnerable in our communities. This would cost us detrimentally - both monetarily and with human lives. Be an advocate for those who can’t advocate for themselves.
#Renting a home is averaging 35% more expensive than #Owning !
#FoodforThought 😩👈🏽 My face when you say you aren't ready to #buy a house, but your paying over $800 a month just on rent!! 💰
Let's do the math: $800 x 12= $9,600.00 a year... if you have rented for the last five years: $9,600.00 x 5 = $48,000.00 💰💰Take advantage of the low interest rates, #downpayment assistance and upcoming #tax advantages! A $50k mortgage is about a $236 monthly payment 😳👑✨
Here's what you need to get started:
1. Proof of income (2 years of W-2's & 1 month of Paystubs)
2. 1-2 months of bank statements
3. Loan Application
4. Verification of employment
5. Photo ID
Call/Text to schedule! (440)525-4887.
Real estate creates wealth... you have made your landlord at least $48,000.00 richer just over the last five years... paid off his mortgage... Let him reap all the tax advantages and benefits... Grow equity in his property... Added value with improvements & updates... and then you move somewhere else & start all over again!! Credit repair available!

Understanding #power is key to understanding our world--who has it, who doesn't, and how its used to promote some and squash others..
Next up: designing research to examine and elucidate the power structures of #education , so they can be challenged. #gradstudent#educator#activist#resist#equality#equity#fairness#justice .

This is disgraceful. CAHMS is honestly awful. Less than 10% of patients who have been under cahms have found it satisfactory. It's full of "professionals" who act very unprofessionally. I'm sure there are some good staff who work there, but honestly most of them are trash. They don't listen to their patients. They don't want their young patients to get better, they are emotionally and verbally abusive. Most of them don't seem to be qualified at all. A lot lack the basic knowledge of the different mental illnesses and disorders. Hell, some of these "trained professionals" don't even know what's in the medication they're prescribing or what it does. On the other hand, you're lucky to be prescribed anything because they'll do anything in their power not to accurately diagnose someone so they don't "waste" money!!! I know this from my own experiences, as well as listening to the stories from many of my friends. CAHMS makes people feel worse. Most feel better once they leave the clutches of CAHMS.
There needs to be an immediate change in the system. More funding needs to be put in, more training needs to be completed before anyone works for them, only people who have human decency and empathy should be hired. I'm sick and tired of seeing insensitive, privileged, underqualified "professionals" working with young and vulnerable people. 🌸

Working with Communities through an Equity Lens
November 23, 10am-12pm
Northern Contemporary Gallery, 1266 Queen St W
How we see or understand the world – our perception – has a significant impact on our choices and actions. Applying equity as a lens to our perception, often changes the way we perceive the world and also allows us to shape our actions and representations to be more inclusive. In this workshop we will discuss the five principles of equity and give an overview of how they can be implemented into more meaningfully serving diverse communities.
