Some days you wake up and go to work, some days I wake up and go to fence.
A pastime, a hobby, an ancient art.
I had a dream last night, I cycled to the most beautiful valley by the sea.
It was so vividly beautiful that I woke, unable to sleep again.
I knew I have never seen that place before, it could have been in Scandinavia,Scotland or New Zealand, Who knows?
Maybe it does not exist, but that is what man searches for the other, the unknown, our limits. The search takes us to the edge at times. To the limits if that our patience and endurance, sometimes it breaks us.
We fall, we can get up, we crash and that's when you find your valley.
The valley may be a place of rest. It may be an oasis. It may be beautiful but it won't last forever for life is tough. It takes everything from us.
Life demands that you are like rock, but remember trees find foundation upon rock.
So be a rock by the water and allow yourself to be broken and become sand. Sand is indestructible.
Have a lovely day and let the trees grow, be a planter and grow.
Find your valley. Find your steel.
Choose your sword.

A journey of a million miles begins with a single step. This morning I rise early to get two trains.
A friend in another country goes to fight in a Fencing Tournament. I hope she kicks ass. She fights in Barcelona with Sabre. I hope she wins.
Tomorrow I will fight in a different competition with s different weapon an Epee.
The fight always begin's with the journey. The power to win, the confidence is built, measured, forged like a sword. Only through unshakable confidence and skill can we succeed.
Natural ability only goes so far, faith helps. Guile. Cunning helps. I like a good sleep before and a clear head.
We are all fighters. Whether its facing a blank page, a white wall or a coffee shop in a train terminal. For those who rise early, Run do Yoga I salute you. For those who work in the Laundry I salute you. Bless those who rise early and smile and join the fight.
