You can stop going to the gym. Yesterday night I went to Aging Backwards book presentation by the author, Miranda White, who was a professional ballerina, and now - the founder of Essentrics. She reconfirmed my studies on exercising using weights.
As a result of weights lifting, muscles look better, but they become shorter and less flexible, that's why professional athletes and many fitness trainers get injured a lot. Also excessively exercise ages the body.
What is the solution? Tradional exercise, like Thai Chi, yoga, dance or Essentrics, where stretching and strengthening the muscles create a toned lean body.
And don't forget to eat proteins after your exercise.

Life is so crazy, we all live in this little bubble of our own. In our worlds we have our thoughts, needs, wants, concerns. It's easy to get consumed in our little bubbles. But life is about so much more & when we step out of that bubble ...our needs, wants and worries start to look very small ... a greater feeling of being within the universe begins. Durning the day I challenge you ... step outside your bubble ... see yourself... just watch and observe the roll you play. #katiekepronfitness @lolewomen @marcantoine_charlebois
Taking a few days off work to reset, recharge and get refreshed for my classes. 💆🏼
The past few months have been the busiest so I'm pushing myself constantly to say yes to every opportunity. Now that I'm reaching my limits I realize how important it is to slow down if you want to sustain all your activities. I promote sustainability and balance, and it's time to listen to my own advice! 🙏🏻❤️
I'll be back @misfitstudio ossington Monday night at 6:35pm! Refreshed and inspired, with (hopefully) some new tunes and moves!
The water was rushing & the rock was slippery ...that challenged my balance ... I had to adapt and adjust to stay stable. Life throws us all kinds of things that will throw our state of equilibrium off. The question then becomes how will you react, how and will you adjust?. I placed myself into a dangerous situation, it didn't find me I found it. Pushing yourself outside you're comfort zone is one thing, learning how to adjust to unknown storms is another #katiekepronfitness @aurum.activewear photo @chantalgallant
Tips and tricks Tuesday! Going to try and post a tip every Tuesday for you.. #goals 😉
This is a demo of a shoulder mobility exercise that helps improve posture and relieve neck/upper back and shoulder pain. It's a very feel-good exercise that works to improve shoulder mobility and increase your upper back strength. For those who practice a lot of yoga arm balances, inversions and planks.. this is a must as it reverses the forward, slumped shoulders effect that sometimes occurs from overworking/unbalanced training. Don't be fooled by the few pictures that may look like 'bad posture', they are waking up your back muscles, improving circulation and decompressing your entire spine. This exercise is also amazing to correct the very common 'office worker desk posture.. w/ the head slumped forwards and rounded shoulders. You can do this sitting down at your desk too :) Step-by-step: Follow the pics in order and stay relaxed. The movement of your elbow follows the design of a figure 8. Swirly and full of internal and external rotations of the shoulder joint. It actually feels like a massage when you pay attention to spinal alignment, and moving your ribs in opposition to your elbow.. Ex: if my elbow pulls forwards, I press my ribs back. Done at a slower tempo and speed, you can stretch, strengthen and increase mobility around the shoulder girdle, pectorals and down the spine.. Keep it fluid and follow your muscle chains, your #fascia and #connectivetissues will love it. Don't forget to breathe deeply.. Relax and enjoy the nice moment :) #dynamicstretch#mobility#essentrics#rebalance#yoga @alley_instaflam .
FREE WORKOUT CLASS !! 💥👊🏼Wednesday September 20 (tomorrow) at Lulu Lemon Queen Street store, downtown Toronto, 7pm. This is one of my coolest clients @whatsupannaaa and she teaches essentrics -- a dynamic, stretch-y workout that that simultaneously lengthens and strengthens every muscle in the body. Drawing on the flow and grace of tai chi it's something I've wanted to try for a while, to sort of counter all the lifting I do. Try it with me tomorrow! Did I mention, it's free!! 👯
