It is not going to happen, you know it, but for a couple of minutes day dreaming of everything you would do with a #winningticket is such an entertaining exercise. What does your “winning the lottery” list contains? For me, charities and making sure my friends and family have all the comfort they need is high on the list, then I would say customizing a van to become our home for the next couple of years and travel the world would be nice, making sure we pay a visit to the best chefs on the way ;-). And renovating our home, taking the kids to the mountain to learn how to ski 🎿, going to New Zealand, San Francisco, Japan and Mendoza region in Argentina, cruising in the Nordics, taking the time to make the kids discover new cultures. When I look at this list I am thinking, maybe one day we’ll be able to do it all without relying on the lottery, with a lot of hard work and chance. #lottery#euromillions#lotterydreams
Catherine Kidd, a 38-year-old woman from Draperstown, Mid Ulster, scooped two jackpots in a period of two years. The current prize is 50 times bigger than the couple previously won. She, along with her husband, Ciaran Kidd, 40-year-old Liverpool FC season ticket holder and engineer, is now celebrating the £1 million EuroMillions UK Millionaire Maker jackpot. This mammoth win came two years after they had won November 2015 Lotto Millionaire Raffle worth £20,000. Hence, the working couple becomes Northern Ireland’s newest lottery millionaires after winning the EuroMillions UK Millionaire Maker jackpot worth £1 million.
Kidd said: “I thought my heart was going to burst out of my chest as I sat in work for the rest of the day – trying to control my emotions and asking myself if this was really be happening?” With the recent winnings, she wants to visit her family in Rochdale. But her husband intends to play some more matches on Merseyside. The couple has four young children between the ages of two and ten. The 38-year-old mother thinks that there will be something extra special in the kids’ stockings this year. She is expecting an extra special Christmas and remarkable New Year this time.
Kidd requested her husband to check the ticket. He turned confused after checking the card. The system was showing that they had won one million pounds. Ciaran, the Moyola Precision Engineer, then called back to say she must have given him the wrong details. “He thought that I was winding him up, and I thought that he was winding me up, but then he sent a screenshot to my phone, and it all went a bit crazy after that,” Catherine said. Finally, she verified their win with the National Lottery. As per the National Lottery officials, both Ciaran and Catherine are down-to-earth people. They are grateful to the National Lottery.

After scooping the top prize on October 27 EuroMillions Ireland Only Raffle, Ireland’s newest millionaire has not claimed his prize yet. So, the officials of National Lottery have urged all EuroMillions players to check their tickets. With this life-changing win, the ticket holder becomes the third Ireland Only Raffle winner of this year. He/she purchased the lucky ticket from Londis in Attyfinlay Autocentre, Carrick on Shannon in Co Leitrim.
The lucky winner is open to claim his/her prize within 90 days of the date of the drawing. Store owner thinks that the winner may come from any corner of the country. “I am not sure who the millionaire is as we get a much-passing trade as Carrick is a big party town at the weekend. It really could be anyone!” Kevin Kennedy told the Leitrim Observer. For not collecting many lotto jackpots, it was believed that the Dublin is the worst county in Ireland. With one unlucky punter who fails to receive a whopping €2.7 million prize, there have been four unclaimed prizes in last two years. Since the game began in 1988, nine lotto players, in total, have not collected individual winnings of over €1 million.
Every ticket holder receives unique Ireland Only Raffle (IOR) code on his/her ticket for each EuroMillions line purchased. Interestingly, players are not the only winners in National Lottery EuroMillions. The lottery invests 30 cents of each ticket to Good Causes across Ireland. The amount was over €200 Million last year and €5 billion from the time of inception. This amount has made a significant difference to individuals as well as communities. The investment was made in the areas of Sports, Youth, Amenities, Health, Welfare, Recreation, Arts, Culture, National Heritage and the Irish Language. It tells you to play responsibly. At the same time, the National Lottery EuroMillions instructs you to play for fun.
