(Part 1 of 8) Recently, a lot of people have told me I have amazing photos. I always laugh a little in my head when I hear that, because most of my photos don't actually turn out. In fact, I'd be willing to bet that less than 10% are actually anything great. To be perfectly honest, most of my photos are overexposed, underexposed, the subject is out of frame, out of focus, or someone just isn't cooperating. I decided I would show the real side for once, and all those times the photos haven't turned out (Check next post) #photofails#blurry#everydaylife#outoffocus#airshow#airshowphotography
Good morning🌤/Bom dia🌤/おはよー😉
Mid-way check-in of EAST OF EDEN📚
I'm in Part 3 and properly halfway plus a little more through. Taking my sweet time☺️
→This is very different from other Steinbecks I've read. Where in Of Mice and Men, The Red Pony and Grapes of Wrath the characters' fate is circumstantial, East of Eden is driven by character decisions and behavior.
→I've grown quite fond of Lee. He's a first generation Chinese American, and at first I winced at how he spoke, so offensively stereotypical. But when he sheds this caricature, he's a fantastic representation of Asian Americans, I feel. His portrayal isn't overly reliant in him being Chinese. Naturally, his culture is part of him yet doesn't define him. If his dialogue was read without prior notice of his background, his background would be up for interpretation. I really appreciate this.
→From brothers Cain and Abel to Charlie and Adam to now Caleb and Arron, I have a feeling this naming rhetoric is setting a theme and paving the way for a boiling feud between siblings.
Have you read East of Eden? What do you think?
Please understand I'm only on Part 3 so I've still a ways to go📖💦

As a kid I used to collect rocks. Weird I know lol.
I remember having so many lined up on my shelf in my room. My mum got annoyed with them so she gave me a "rock box" to keep them in.
Seems like I'll have to make one for Charlie early since she is forever collecting and cuddling rocks. 😂
The Apple doesn't fall far from the tree. 🙊
