Sometimes people that are into health and fitness can be very annoying (not omitting myself from that statement 😅) because when you first commit to a healthy lifestyle it feels like you’ve discovered all the secrets of life. You feel amazing, you sleep better, you look better....sometimes we start making claims like “I cured myself of depression just by eating more vegetables” (yeah that wasn’t depression hunny🍯 ). Do your best not to get cocky because life will knock you on your ass again guaranteed.
You may have figured out the keys to living your best life, but these are very individual discoveries. You don’t know someone’s story, struggles, body, culture, lifestyle, family, so let’s not judge or push or pretend that we know how to cure all of someone’s ailments because we know what works for us. Live your life to the best of your ability, and it will show. Your new lifestyle will inspire others whether you know they’re watching or not. Keep prioritizing your health and wellness for you and it will encourage others to do the same in their own time.
My husband often gives me grief about taking soooo many pictures. And I admit, at times I can be a little excessive in the photo snapping department 📷. Especially since we welcomed Olivia into the world, this past December. .
However, one of the reasons I take so many pictures is so I can look back and recall moments in my life that may have otherwise faded, due to the passage of time. I don’t know about you, but when I look at a photograph, part of me is taken back to the exact moment the picture was taken. From where I was to how I felt, I am able to recall and in some ways experience parts of that moment all over again✨.
Some memories are engraved in our hearts forever, while others fade and become harder to recall as time goes by. For those memories, pictures can serve as beautiful reminders of those moments in our lives 💞. .
I take pictures for myself. I take pictures for my family. I take pictures for my friends. Tomorrow is promised to no one. I have learned this. I have lived this and I have come to understand, accept and respect this. .
Life brings tears, laughter, smiles, and memories. The tears dry, the laughter and smiles fade, but the memories last forever. ♥️😇♥️
YOU CAN'T SIT WITH US!!
(J/K of course you can 💞)
For those of you who are HUGE fans of the movie, 'Mean Girls', you know that come October 3rd, we get to celebrate pumpkin spice lattes, pulling cozy sweaters and boots to the front of the closet, and this is also the day things started getting SERIOUS between Cady Heron and Aaron Samuels -- SWOON😍
In honor of this glorious occasion, my October Health & Fitness Accountability Group theme will be....wait for it 🥁--SO FETCH (a slang term Gretchen Wieners often uses and tries to 'MAKE IT HAPPEN').
Sooo...If you're looking to slim down, tone up, learn to live a healthier lifestyle, meal prep or simply get your butt back in gear after a summer of indulging in one too many backyard BBQ's and a few more margaritas than you probably should have🙄, this is your opportunity! .
If you've been on the fence about getting on board one of my challenges, now is the time to get off it! You don't want to miss out on everything that's in store for next month. From GIVEAWAYS to LIVE group workouts, October is going to be one for the books🎉. Link in Comments👇🏻
I may have forgotten to set my alarm clock last night. WHOOPS😬!
Then when I got up, I chugged my preworkout drink and put on my workout clothes around 6:05am, only to hear Olivia crying out, "ma ma ma ma ma" 5min later! Soooo, I had to wait until my daughter went down for her first nap, to finally get my workout in today. .
However, on the plus side I had the pleasure of having a workout buddy today Jennyfer Vargas-Fernandez, to suffer and sweat through my workout with me😁. My schedule may not always go as planned, but regardless of circumstances the things I prioritize each day ALWAYS get done💪🏻♥️👶🏻.
A few notes to myself for tonight:
1) Set your alarm clock because you have a LIVE workout tomorrow morning at 6am with a bunch of women who are counting on you to show up👭!!! 2. Don't forget to set your alarm clock for tomorrow morning😂⏰🤣. There's still time to get in on my October Challenge! Link in Comments👇🏻
People often tell me, "I wish I was motivated like you to workout" and I have to be honest...It takes everything I have inside of me, to not burst out in tears laughing🤣. Just to set the record straight: 💟 I'm not special. 💟 I have not been gifted with endless energy.
💟 I don't have an unbreakable, positive self image. 💟 I do not have intrinsic motivation 💟 I have nothing extra, that you don't already possess within yourself.
The truth is, I'm filled with self doubt, everyday! I have no idea what the heck I'm doing half the time #truthbomb . More days than not, I'm exhausted just like every other mom and the very last thing in the entire universe that I want to do is workout 🏋🏻♀️. .
So, what is it that keeps me going? 👉🏻SELF DISCIPLINE
And that there people, is what truly sets apart successful people from the rest of the crowd. Sometimes we have to do things we don't want to do now, so we can be a better person later. If every single person on this planet only did things that they felt like doing, nothing would ever get done. Like EVER!!!!
So, the next time you start something and feel like quitting a day in, a week in, a month in....STOP and remind yourself why you started, then keep going!
Let the games begin!!! Olivia discovered how to take her diaper off this morning and thinks it's pretty dang funny! Every time I put her diaper back on, she crawls behind the rocker and rips it off again🤣. This kid gets funnier and sassier every day! The look on her face says it all! She's definitely going to keep her momma on her toes🏃🏼♀️. #sassypants
I don't know about you, but I'm a visual person. So, I'm going to throw you a visual and break it all down for you👊🏻.
To hell with starvation diets and working out for 2-3 hours a day! Screw all the fads that come and go like dust in the wind and eliminate 99% of the foods you enjoy, leaving you back at square one once you start incorporating those foods back into your diet. .
I'm not saying that It's not work, but it's so much more SIMPLE than you think. And by investing a little in yourself & your health...it changes EVERYTHING!!! 👫Your Relationships
💻 Your Work
🏃♀️ Your Energy
🤔 Your Mindset
♥️ Your ENTIRE Life
I've said this before, and I'm going to say it again...the best project you will ever work on is YOURSELF💯. .
I am so freakin excited about my upcoming online bootcamp-->starting soon! A small group of women, from ALL walks of life (mom's, business women, non moms, grandmas, nurses, receptionists...you get the idea😜). Some have 10lbs to lose, others have 100+ and there are some who just want to lead a healthier lifestyle (learn how to meal prep and eat clean). In this group, we are all going to work towards accomplishing our goals together!!! Because when you have support and accountability, you are 10x more likely to accomplish your goals! ➡️ STOP over-complicating it.
➡️ STOP over-think it
➡️ STOP questioning whether you can do it - you CAN & you WILL!
➡️ STOP with the pity party's ➡️ STOP with the excuses
➡️ STOP wishing
AND JUST DO IT!
Why wait until after the holidays and New Year, to start prioritizing yourself and your health?!? Do it now, so come January 1, 2018, you're already looking & feeling your best and ready to dominate 2018💥. Let's do this! Link in comments💜
One of the things I LOVE most about the weekends, is that I can go outdoors to do my workouts when Olivia goes down for a nap, because my husband is home🙌🏻.
I NEEDED this today. ♥️ To Breathe
♥️ To Unwind
♥️ To Refocus
♥️ To Recenter ♥️ To Reconnect with Myself.
If you're reading this and saying to yourself, 'I don't have time to do that', I promise you, that you never will. Because it's not about having the time, it's about making the time📝.
My husband has come to understand the truth in the saying, 'happy wife, happy life'. And more importantly, I have come to understand the importance of taking a minute for ME every once in awhile, with no guilt attached💜. .
It was 23min. It was glorious. It was QUIET!!! It was absolutely wonderful...and the difference between my family having to hang out with Carella Deville🙅🏻 the rest of the day v.s. one of the Care Bears🐻. No joke, I was one cranky momma this morning before I took a hot minute for myself🤷🏼♀️.
The key is not to prioritize what's on your schedule, but to schedule your priorities. If you don't know where to start, reach out to me. I'm here to help💌. Link in comments👇🏻
Mommin ain't easy! But, when it gets hard, you pick your battles⚔️ You want to wear rubber gloves for shoes? Sure! Why not?! 👣
Did I mention all this MADNESS Is taking place in a 6x8 elevator??😱 5 kids, 2 boss mom's...we're totally out numbered👩🏼👶🏻👶🏻👶🏻👶🏻👶🏻👩🏼 #momminainteasy
When your 9 month old is teething and the only thing that calms her down is you singing the itsy bitsy spider...a million times, over and over and over again😩🕷 Did I mention how much I hate spiders?! #momtruth
I honestly would have preferred a Brazilian wax, while having my butt probed by a colorectal surgeon, eating a can of sardines, while scrubbing my husbands toilet...than doing my workout today. #truthbomb
Butttt, there will always be days like this, where we just don't 'FEEL' like doing certain things, but we do them anyways: 😫 Cleaning 😫 Folding laundry
😫 Paying bills
😫 Getting out of bed hahaha
😫 Adulting...do I have to today?!?!? Just to name a few... 👶🏻💼🚘⏰🚽📚📆🛒☕️🏃♀️🐶🏋🏻 When you have days like this, try to keep in mind the outcome and not how you're 'feeling in the moment'. The moment will pass, keep your eye on the end goal and do it anyways💯
It's important to remember that NO ONE is perfect. Sometimes magazines and the media can cause us to lose sight of reality, leaving us to feel bad about and uncomfortable in our own skin. Real life, we all have imperfections, we all have rolls, so why hide them or photoshop them out🤷🏼♀️
So many women come to me, expressing how ashamed they are of their body's...their rolls, loose skin etc. and try to hide it with spanx, tape and high waisted pants😮. My stomach will never look like it did before giving birth to my daughter and I’m 110% ok with that. It took a long time for us to have our sweet baby girl, so she is worth every stretch mark and every piece of loose skin I own💯!
Why is it so hard to accept ourselves as we are? To be proud of our bodies and all they have endured? People may think that I exercise, in the pursuit of the 'perfect' body. Years ago, there may have been some truth to that. However, today I exercise: 💜For the extra ENERGY, to keep up with my daughter. 💜To feel STRONG.
💜For the improved sleep. 💜For the, feel GOOD endorphins.
💜To feel HEALTHY from the inside out.
Let me end by saying that, every one of my imperfections is a part of my journey, part of what makes me unique. A testament to what my body has been through and what my body is capable of. There is NO SHAME in that! So ladies, be proud of who you are and the skin you're in and if you don't know where to start, reach out to me, I can help💌 💥Own it!
💥Love it... Like the BOSS BABE you are💋
