The Adventures of Fitzroy Filmore, "May 24th. It is an overcast and gloomy day here on the river. Our worst fears have come true. Ahead of us the river goes underground and we are in a steep, narrow, box canyon. Tomorrow morning, when the water level us at its lowest, Kalkeetna and Vulfgar will try to scout the tunnel. Otherwise I will attempt to climb out and begin the trek to get help. The captain has turned for the worse. It looks like an infection. Morale is at a brittle low. We had never bonded as a team and it's showing now. We have no plan, no common goal, no leadership and absolutely no teamwork or compassion here. It's a miserable affair to be certain. I'm confident as ever in my abiloty to climb out, and I know this desert country well enough to get to Maz, I believe, but I don't know about the others."
