In a place of surrender and excellence, make change happen today. When you first try to create change in your life, it will feel like it's taken over your life...as if everything revolves around it. And that's ok, it should, because MAKING IT HAPPEN is hard. Don't doubt yourself if you know some things need to shift in your life. Pursue your best with excellence and stop quitting when it feels hard at first...that's normal and it WILL PASS! How are you going to MAKE IT HAPPEN in your life this week?
Wild beauties || The fog filled forests and gold aspen leaves that brighten up grey skies have a way of making my heart skip a beat. You don’t have to look hard to see that there is something magical about fall in Colorado.
Good friends are hard to find, especially when they all keep moving away! 😂 Two of my favorite people moved to Colorado earlier this year and this weekend has been a blast catching up with them!! Love you girls so much & I am so thankful for your friendship!! 💕
“When the Seeker is ready, the Master will appear.” Traveling to high mountains is an exercise in chasing high adventure, a physical challenge, and a means of discovering wisdom.
After claiming the summits of Belford and Oxford this morning in a fierce gale and snow that reached the tops of my boots, I encountered a couple in their 60s, Bill and Barbara, and a conversation, which began as a simple courtesy between passing climbers, turned into a lengthy discussion as we descended Missouri Gulch.
Bill and Barbara are from Aspen, but after we joked about our competing home towns, I reveled in hearing their 14er adventures dating back decades, including Bill's first 14er entailing a rappel off Pyramid Peak on Labor Day...in a blizzard.
As we traded tales of harrowing adventures we'd survived, Bill and Barbara's (secret) favorite camping spot, and the ethics surrounding signage on Capitol Peak, I observed Bill and Barbara's dynamic, and how they effortlessly played off one another.
Decades, I can only assume, of practice.
As we departed at the trailhead, I watched the couple doing some yoga before jumping in their Toyota 4Runner, and thought, "Someday, that'll be Mrs. Gadberry and me." But another revelation followed shortly, which was this: The Missus, whoever or wherever she may be, shall appear only when Providence deems me worthy of that grandest adventure.
Until that day...#45 14ers are complete, and the adventure of becoming a greater outdoorsman, and the quest to become a man of honor and integrity, continues.

A forest full of aspens and changing leaves. 🍃🍁🍂
Fun fact ↠ while aspens and birch trees may look very similar they are actually from completely different tree families. The easiest way to tell them apart is by paying close attention to their bark. Birch trees have bark that rolls like paper and aspens do not. The more you know, ya know?! 💁
SUPER last minute road trip down to Bishop Castle today, and luckily we got to meet the guy who built this beautiful creation! He started in 1969 and is still working on it. Having friends that are down for last minute trips like this, is truly a great thing to have in your life! 💕🤘🏽
