No middle ground here. As the sun dropped it set her and the foilage on fire. You either like it or you don't. I grew to love it and its extremes instead of fixing with fill light, etc Maddy thank you!.#sunset#foilage
Photo of the Day: I’ve been waiting for the right moment to post this as a photo of the Day image and I couldn’t think of a better day for me to do it.
I took this photo during the peak of autumn foliage at the Lincoln Bridge in the Chickasaw National Recreation Area.
Thank you for taking the time to take a look through my lens. I hope you enjoyed it.
New hair, who dis?! 😆😜still obsessing over the balayage I got done today! 😍 Finished my workout, and now I’m about to go celebrate my nephews first year of life. ❤️❤️ What are your plans for this chilly Saturday?! #saturdayselfie#balayage#obsessed
Have you ever stopped to think that every product you use in your day to day life was created by someone who wasn’t afraid to be laughed at? Their vision was bigger than the opinions of the people around them, and thank God for that. Seriously, what if the person who created Netflix, or liquid eyeliner, or worse... leggings, decided to give up because there were people who thought their idea was stupid. 😳😱😰😂 It’s a crazy thought! Thank goodness they didn’t focus on negativity, but instead on their dreams, being consistent, and being patient. You are just as capable as anyone to focus on and follow yours too. ❤️ •
P.S. TJ Maxx sports bra FTW! Comfortable and cute AF. ☺️
Shrimp, bean sprouts, feta cheese, with just a little bit of cumin and olive oil. (I don’t measure things, so I couldn’t tell you how much I used 😬😂) Y’all. SO. GOOD. SO. EASY. 👏🏻😍 #keepitsimple#chinesefoodfix
Photo of the Day: These beautiful autumn colors on the leaves dangling above one of the many creeks that wander their way around the Chickasaw Nation. I love going through the Chickasaw National Recreation Area and parks. The best times to visit are always spring and fall. The abundance of beautiful colors never cease to amaze me.
What is one of your favorite places or parks to visit in Oklahoma? I’m looking for new places to hike this year.
Thank you so much for taking time out of your day or night to take a look through my lens.
Finished up my last workout of 2017 this morning in my Lil Wayne tee!
As excited as I am to see what 2018 has in store for me, I’m almost sad to see 2017 go. This past year has most definitely been one of my favorites. I got to meet my newest best friend, my nephew William. 😍 I also got engaged to a bearded beauty who happens to be the love of my life. ❤️ And I’ve learned how great taking care of myself feels, seriously so grateful about it. I’ve also got to see my friends reaching some major milestones in their lives (having babies, getting engaged. Makes my heart so happy!) •
2017 is going to be hard to beat, but I feeling 2018 will be even better. Excited to see what my coaching journey will bring and that it’s the year I’ll be getting married! 😍💑 Bring it on 2018, I’m ready for ya!
This week my mindset has been all over the place. I’m sure there’s a number of reasons why with it being super busy before Christmas and what I’m thinking is poison ivy breaking out on my face it’s been causing me to feel extra introverted. (I know some people have to deal with MUCH worse than just a little breakout, it’s mostly just the itching that’s frustrating me.) I’ve definitely realized this week that you have a choice in what you focus on. And I’ve been choosing to focus on the negative and I can tell the huge difference it’s been making. I think sometimes you have to go through a couple of rough days and bad moods in order to appreciate all the positivity and good that’s in your life. ❤️ My plan is to focus on the upcoming holidays and the fact that I get to spend some much needed quality time with loved ones, I hopes to pull myself out of this little funk. Wishing you guys a fun-filled weekend full of family and love and the joy of the holidays! ❤️🎄🤗
Being among the trees and mountains, everything shifts. The truth is laid out in front of me. THE Truth. The Truth with the capital T. I wish I could carry the feeling of the mountains with me back into the world where I reside, inside boxed in tiny apartments and busy streets bare of trees. Every time I go outside this holiday season I have been met with hostility from other drivers and people in stores. I see forgotten people on the sidewalks, no roof over their head, empty bellies. I see horror and pain on the TV screen and on social media. I have a thin membrane between me and the world, all of the outside energy seeps in and mingles with my own feelings, and I am working on building up that membrane. The Winter Solstice brings me back to the light, and helps restore what has been so worn down over this past year. What I hope for in the new year is more kindness toward one another and even toward ourselves. People who are pleased when you fail are not your friends. People who are not rooting for you are not your friends. Too many people tear each other down instead of building them up, and I believe it is deeply rooted in a kind of self-hatred that can be healed. In the coming year I will be a better voice for kindness, both to myself and to others. I will continue to not be a bystander but will work harder. It is true the older you get, the smaller your world can feel, but I don't believe it has to! I have the mountains, and I have the trees, and their beauty and their truth make my world so large & infinite.
Yosemite speaks to me in a way that no where else has, save for the mountains of Colorado. There is an ethereal magic there, in the water, in the roots, and dirt and air, and trees... I always find my pieces of myself and count the days until I can go back and sit beside the water and feel the earth humming beneath me.
The Road goes ever on and on,
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say... ↞
Nothing like listening to Justin Bieber’s Christmas album during my workout to get me pumped to go Christmas shopping after work today! 😆🎄🙌🏻 Who else waits til last minute to get their shopping done!? •
P.S. if you haven’t listened to Drummer Boy by J Beibs ft. Busta Rhymes, you’re probably missing out on THE BEST Christmas song ever. 😂
