As we drove across my home state today my mind was flooded with memories of my childhood and adventures with my family. (Like counting waterfalls on the pass, ski school, girls camp, camping and driving to find the sun, water skiing on the Columbia and many more!) I was also reminded of our years we lived in Spokane and the drives we made to Bellevue to be with family. Oh how I love this beautiful state! So many different climates and landscapes! 🌲🐟🍁☀️🌦☂️💦#familyadventures#alwayslookingforthesun#washingtonstate#reminiscing
I've dreamed of seeing Norway ever since I was a child and heard the story of how my great great grandfather left Norway (and his wife and kids 😳) behind and started over in the United States. The chapel behind us is the exact replica of a medieval stavkirke in Norway and although it's no where near as amazing as seeing the real thing it does get me excited for future adventures to come 🙌
When you're slogging through dish suds and drowning in laundry.
When you're battling toddler tantrums and navigating nap strikes.
When you're making copies and pushing papers, wondering if the work even matters.
When you feel trapped in the four walls of your house or four corners of your cubicle.
When all the work and trying, doing and striving to keep your family or work life thriving or at least surviving takes everything you've got to give yet it feels like no one notices. . .
You, beloved, are not unseen.
44 of 50. Utah. To celebrate seeing all 50 states, I'm posting a pic a day from each one. This picture sums up Utah perfectly. It's all bright blue sky and crazy rock formations and rugged desert. I mean, and Salt Lake City, but look at this! I was frankly shocked at how gorgeous Utah is. We went to Zion National Park, but did not hike the Narrows because the flash flood rating for the day was "probable" and I have small children I did not want to die. We hiked and saw waterfalls and wildlife and breathed in the fresh clean air. One of our sons did decide that he was a ninja and thus kept covering up his entire face with his shirt, but we managed not to let him fall into any holes and die. So, amazing nature, kids still alive, win all around. Have you ever heard the story of the 3 wise monkeys 🐵🐒? Mizaru 🙈 who sees no evil, Kikazaru 🙉 who hears no evil, and Iwazaru 🙊 who speaks no evil. ~
Takeaway: Ingest no evil (don't take it in)🙅🏽 because what goes in must come out. And it comes out by speaking 🗣 or "WILLing" it. Hence if you see and hear no evil you won't speak it. What you think and speak creates the reality you exist within 💭. ~
Interesting side note, Did you know that the one and only acknowledged possession of Ghandi (who practiced a lifestyle of non-posession) was a small statue of the 3 Monkeys🙈🙉🙊?
It was just about a year ago that I was in Italy with the @ciaobambinotravel team. Now I'm excited to start planning our Italy 2018 trip. We are planning on spending a few days in Umbria or southern Tuscany. What do you think, Cortona? Assisi? Do you have any favorite towns in the region?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~🇺🇸 Two beach umbrellas on the beach of Pantai Melasti: We have been shown by our guide this very beautiful and (still) relatively empty beach 🏖. However, we were frightened how crassly the coastal cliffs for the road were cut.
Knowing what I do about #marktwain , I think he'd much prefer the way Celia and I are using his property to the way many of his stuffier tour guests were, who looked at a child in the house as an annoyance. #letthemplaythehuckfinnway
"The kids love the independence our property gives them; we never have to holler up the trail to them to slow down or wait up in fear of them getting out of sight or staying out of other hikers’ way. The freedom is good for these toddler souls."

While you relax and enjoy time with your new friends, your kids will be well entertained while at the Summit. Mini golf will keep them entertained for hours... and then when they've mastered their skills, they may well challenge you to a game!
Day 3 of @whole30. And the road is looking..WAAAYYYYYY LONG. Missing cream in coffee and my conversation skills. Sugar, hidden sugars and the fact that 99 percent of the condiments in my fridge are NOT COMPLIANT is basically all I talk about with other humans these days 😭😢☹ #sorry#imboring#whole30#day3#fomo#cream#missing#sugar#sugar#longroad
Last Varenna pics of the kids racing down the Lovers Walkway, the best ravioli of my life at Al Prato and an arched "main" street outside the restaurant. Varenna was more touristy than we prefer but I can see why so many want to visit! For us, staying in a smaller town of mostly Italian families (Lezzeno) was the best of both worlds. #travelwithkids#lakecomo#varenna#loverswalk#ravioli#alprato
2 more days! So keen for camping season especially in out new set up. Langs been grinding and welding and repairing since our last trip out. We have so many spots we want to check out can't wait to see it all. 😊🏕
We (BabyCanTravel) were supposed to drive to Seattle this summer but instead decided to take advantage of one last free flight with our almost 2 year old. I'm glad we waited, because now we have some great Seattle tips by Barbara of @sunshineguerrilla! Follow along over the next few days and get some great advice from a local! Let's get started 👇
✨CHECK THE SCHEDULE✨
Seattle loves a festival or an event. Something is always happening and a lot of it is great for kids. When you plan your trip, be sure to check in and see what is going on...you just might find something amazing. For example, once we just happened upon a DeLorean convention (spoiler alert - they all look exactly alike, but toddlers don't care). Parentmap.com is a treasure trove of low tide beaches (for searching for sea life), parades, and rainy day alternatives for parents visiting Seattle. My best advice is to check there before you go anywhere else.

A heated swimming pool will float everybody's boat for #halfterm , and those clever folk at #Martinhal have also newly covered the kids pool at their #Cascais outpost in order to keep temperatures up as autumn approaches. There's a kids club, excellent #playground , choice of restaurants, and a spa too. Unbeatable! bit.ly/i-eMartinhalCascais #Portugal
