It's #familyfriday and today my fabulous partners @ksjbodycontrol and @mfogarasy and I are reposting our favorite #familyfriday post to date🌟
It comes from amazing Emma @ekumley and her sweet sister Carrie.
We love it because it demonstrates the very essence of what we hope to achive with our weekly series; that Pilates is for everyone, and we can learn and embrace Pilates and good movement.
🌟Carrie was thrilled to be featured and what a star she is 🌟
If trying this with Your family, here are some pointers to encourage yummy rotation:
▶️Think of Your Spine as a long, strong pole throughout the movement. ▶️The idea is to rotate the ribcage around the pole.
▶️Aim to keep equal weight on each sitting bone if seated or equal weight on both legs if standing.
▶️Lengthen and let movement initiate from Your center, not Your arms
▶️Arms follow the movement of the trunk ➡️ as a result; move without tension.
Please join us & post Your variation of rotation with family or friends.
Get moving & Move well
Use the hashtag so we can see Your playful work.
Have a wonderful weekend

"I love my children more than anything in the world and being their mom brings me so much happiness, but parenting has never come easy for me. In fact, I find it really hard. I’m extremely type A and believe that all waking hours of my day are meant to be productive and efficient and, let’s be honest, children are not efficient. I try to carve out moments when I’m completely present but can’t seem to shut off the to-do list running through my head, or resist the urge to check my work email every few minutes. I try to be active and get on the floor with them to play, but spend most of that time thinking about the mess they’re making and hoping that my daughter doesn’t ask me to do anything involving role-play. My nerves just aren’t built for constant noise and stimulation. I don’t love being needed and I’m not the best at selflessness. I enjoy a quiet, calm order that doesn’t exist in a house where children are acting like children. I’ve spent years and years feeling guilty and pretending to be more like the mom I thought I was supposed to be and less like myself. But lately I’ve been focusing on forgiveness, acceptance, and self-love for all that I am as a mother instead of all that I am not. I’ve realized that I want my children to be proud of me for the same reasons I’m proud of myself and not for characteristics that were never authentically mine. I don’t need them to grow up and describe me as a silly mom that baked up messes in the kitchen, but I do hope they grow up to say that their mom was a boss, a fighter, a feminist, a justice seeker, and the hardest worker they ever knew. And I hope they’ll know I was all of those things because they inspired me to be." - @carlyrburson #FamilyFriday

📽#2 : David ends the week with an AMRAP of 380x4 (with room for more but working on moderating the overzealousness. Balance in all things, friends...)
📽#3 : And then the headless sumo pull takes us into the weekend. Sumo PR of 250. Followed by the convo of shock shared by both of us at how quick it came off the ground. There just might be hope...🤞🏼
Sometimes everything isn't perfect or how we expect. .
Even though we may feel that way we can chose to know our pain is temporary. .
And in that knowing and in commitment to one another - there are greater fruits to be had. .
Communication always wins. Honesty and vulnerability open doors and deepen connections. .
We are all simply a few thoughts away from choosing a better experience. .
Relationships that endure are forged in the storms... how you choose to react/ interact and proact define your outcome. .
This week we celebrated Reece’s 5th birthday. He’s overcome so much in his life already. I’m so proud to call him my son! .
Here we are at Scentsy Commons enjoying the lights. I love this family of mine! #HappyHolidaysFromTheWillsCrew Amherst Madison
"It has been an honor sharing my story with you all, but I feel like I can’t go without taking the opportunity to tell you why family inspired me to start @tribealive. From a young age, I was passionate about the orphan crisis and wanted to be a part of what I viewed as the solution. Adoption was always what I believed to be the answer, but immediately after going through the process to bring home my first daughter, I realized that adoption was not the solution but possibly part of the problem. Don't get me wrong, adoption is still very near and dear to my heart and it's the sole path we've chosen to grow our family. It's wonderful, necessary, and a choice I wish more families would make. But what I decided after we witnessed birth parents visiting their children in orphanages was that adoption is a tragedy as much as it's a gift and that I could not honor my daughter without honoring the woman who created her. I quickly recognized that the only reason I was lucky enough to be a mother to this magical little human was simply because of where I was born and the opportunities I was given. Poverty is the root cause of child relinquishment and no person should be stripped of their right to parent simply because they are poor. My business was inspired by my daughter's birth mother, and I often wonder what her story would have looked like had someone given her an education, a safe job, and a fair chance at life. At Tribe Alive, our main goal is to keep families together, to empower and employ mothers, and to educate children. We're focused on preserving family units and recognize that all mothers are equal and deserving of the same opportunities. I hope that you’ll check us out and join us on our journey to walk life alongside some incredible families. Happy Friday, everyone!"
