Meet the newest member of the rescue • Gamora the baby Kingfisher who likes to peck our fingers, she is now in the caring hands of our bird-rescue & is on the road to recovery with an injured wing; which we suspect happened during her attempts to fly. #birdrescue
We've built a small fleet of play tractors... or should we say army? [What is the collective noun for tractors anyway?!] This is one of our simpler designs, suitable for commercial or private use, but you can check out the rest of the tractor 'flock' right here: http://www.flightsoffantasy.co.uk/product-portfolio/tractors/
Visited a farm that specialized in making pecorino and goat cheese. They raise the animals for milk, have a side restaurant business that's farm to table, and also let campers stay on the campgrounds. We had the best olive oil we've ever tasted and the owner invited us back in the fall when we can taste fresh pressed olive oil. Can't wait to take him up on his offer; this has been one of the highlights of our trip. Maybe next time he'll also let me milk a goat, an odd bucket list item I've always wanted to do...😅 #farm#tuscany#farmtotable#nature#lifestyle#simple#underthetuscansun#italy
12/18 - With the the added horse and quail manure from neighbours and coffee grinds from restaurants in town for much needed nitrogen the farm now produces about 200 cubic metres of compost every year. All we have to do, is to turn the heaps regularly while our geese and chickens do the rest to keep the system healthy. The Pine trees along the Blaauwklippen and Stellenzicht roads provide a generous supply of pine needles for compost and mulching for the rose gardens.
Meet one of the ten barn cats at Fre-Da-Ro, they are part of our pest control and are naturally talented at reducing rodents in and around the barn. They are all spayed and neutered, to avoid inbreeding and a population explosion! If you check out the third picture, her expression pretty much says: "OK that's enough now!" But why stop there?! Fun fact, genetically it is very rare for turtle shell or calico cats (cats with multi coloured patches) to be male. So it is pretty safe to assume that this kitty is a she. On the other hand, ginger cats are more often than not males.
This is exactly how I feel about the kickstarter and all the support we have received thus far. So excited to see the potential and dreams turn into a reality for others to enjoy. Thank you to all those who have been sharing and who have contributed!!! #judges7#ranch#farm#smallfarm#livestock#food#feed#education#Repost @biblequote365 with @repostapp
