@nuttyabouthealth got me thinking this evening 🤔🤔🤔 (and she doesn't even know it)...
I (currently) don't track ketones, macros, calories, or my weight. I know how to eat LCHF and I am no novice in the workout department. I know how I feel when I do or don't eat carbs. I know if my clothes are getting looser or tighter. I know whether or not I like what I see in the mirror. I recently had very promising and positive lab work. I believe I'm on the "right track." I don't (personally) feel the need for MFP, ketostix, or a measuring tool that tells me nothing more than how much force exists between me and planet Earth, to tell me if I'm "succeeding" or not.
BUT I realized I haven't really been focused since ditching my scale. It's very freeing to throw that evil thing in the garbage but, since then, I've just kinda been standing still. My WOE has been hit and miss and exercise has taken a backseat to my new career and, quite frankly, so has sheer laziness.
But, I do have goals. Goals to be stronger, faster, healthier, happier. And I'm confident I know how to get there. However, it's not enough to KNOW what TO DO, you have to ACTUALLY DO IT.
So... I've been working on some new goals this evening. They start tomorrow and I'll post them tomorrow AM. Over the next 30 days, I hope to build some solid habits, despite my frequent travel and new business venture that launches in 30 days (no worries, I'm not selling anything 😘). These goals/habits are going to be what ground me- my "constant," my "center," in a world that's about to get excitingly chaotic! 😁
I'm ready to have a new ME focus and to share my journey here, with my amazing Keto fam. Thanks Karey (@nuttyabouthealth) for inspiring me this evening. 👊🏼😊
Tagging a few awesome accounts who tagged me this week and last- they all deserve a tag back! 👊🏼😊 Their accounts inspire me everyday. Also tagging @hottieunderconstruction because she makes me laugh several times a day. 🤣 @veryhungryketopillar for all the great coffee suggestions yesterday. Aaand... All my awesome #secretketopals because duh, they're awesome!!!

If I didn't tell you exactly what I weighed, would you know? And if you did know, would it change the way you looked at me? Thought of me? Liked or loved me? Do YOU even really care what *I* weigh?
We act as if our weight is tattooed on our foreheads, for the world to see and immediately judge us by. We determine our day- good or bad- by this number- a number no one else even sees. We determine OUR success or failure by a number we've decided is "the number" that will make us happy. We wake up everyday to see if we succeeded or failed. Why? So we can feel stressed and worried about every bite we eat, or how much punishment cardio we have to do, or how much longer we have to "fast," because we went off track?
We act like that number determines whether we're fit or skinny, or fat, or better yet, HEALTHY. The scale is zero indication of any of the above.
How about, instead, we set realistic goals like: workout 3 days a week, drink MORE water (it doesn't have to be a gallon), eat from the designated foods in our WOE (and set REALISTIC guidelines), get more sleep, have more ACTIVE fun, fast for health NOT weightloss...
How about we measure our progress and success by how many times we accomplish a healthy goal instead of by what the scale says? How about we take more progress pics and measurements, and blood work, and body fat tests? How about we gauge success off of how many more stairs we can climb before becoming winded or how many more bags of groceries we can carry at once?
Ask yourself if, RIGHT NOW, you looked like you imagine yourself looking, would you REALLY care what the scale said?
I can tell you *I* don't care one bit what YOUR scale says. I don't care if you weigh 300 pounds or 100 pounds. If I follow you, it's because you're YOU- because something about YOU inspires ME. And I promise you it's not the imaginary number on your forehead. #effthescale#iamnotanumber
