My new favorite way to cook potatoes. Slice in half the longs way and put face down on a lightly greased sheet pan. Roast in the oven at 400 for 40 mins. They are nice and crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. Plus, they cook so much faster than baking the whole potato! Perfect for busy moms.
Paleo AIP crockpot meal. Grass fed stew beef, mandarins, garlic, onion, oregano, ginger, cinnamon, smoked sea salt, 1/6th cup fire cider (minus the peppers which I leave out when making) and coconut oil. Cook til it shreds easily. I keep Crohn's in remission with a Paleo AIP lifestyle and herbs. ❤️🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱Check out my website for health info or to book a consultation. RebeccaGraceAndrews.com
My go-to meal when I forget to defrost meat/am short on time/don't feel like making a complicated dinner.... Diced potatoes started over medium/high with lots of ghee. Cover and chop up the rest of the veggies (bell pepper, onion and mushrooms (any combo will do)). Add veggies and more ghee to the pan. Stir together and crank up the heat to high. Season with salt, pepper, oregano, garlic powder (or use minced garlic), and paprika. While that all cooks chop up the sausage. Throw that in and give a stir, let cook for a couple more minutes then serve! *side note*: potatoes aren't strict Paleo to many people but they work for many so use your discretion. 😘 (Had to add this in because someone jumped down my throat last week 🙄). #easypaleo#fastpaleo#paleodinner#paleohash
Later gram of dinner. Easy and a crowd pleaser. Threw some organic colorful potatoes in the oven to roast (drizzled with ghee and seasonings). Chopped up some Brussels while the potatoes started, tossed with avocado oil and seasonings and stuck those in to roast. Then formed some sliders with grassfed beef. Cooked them in a cast iron skillet. Stuck in a 200* oven to keep warm while I made the rest. Washed some romaine wedges and sliced some tomatoes from my garden. Dinner was on the table in less than 30 minutes thanks to my convection oven too. #paleodinner#easypaleo#fastpaleo#glutenfreesliders
Got my Martha Stewart on again and whipped up this bad boy - Super quick and easy "Shake 'n Bake Paleo Quiche'... D'LISH!
2 Cups Almond Milk
1 Cup Chopped Bacon (I fried mine in a skillet for a bit first)
1 Small Onion (I prefer brown)
1/2 Cup Coconut Flour
1 Tablespoon Olive Oil (I've tried with Coconut Oil before and it solidified in bits due to the other ingredients being cold but tasted ok so give it a crack if you don't do Olive Oil)
1 Medium Zucchini Grated
1 Tablespoon Parsley
Salt & Pepper to Taste
1. Preheat oven to 180°C or 350°F.
2. Place all ingredients in a large mixing bowl with a lid and shake that bad boy until all combined. Or you could just whisk her up....... Not sure if they thought of that one...
3. Pour into a greased (I use coconut oil) quiche/pie dish.
4. Bake for 30 minutes or until the filling is set.
🤓I'm a bit of a "throw it all in and see how it turns out" kinda gal so I vary this recipe a bit from time to time and it never fails me.
This time, I didn't have an onion so went without and I forgot the salt and pepper but it was still AWESOME👌
Super EASY and super QUICK - That's what we want right!🙌
Children will learn to love what you give them. Vary their foods as much as possible. Let them experiment with flavor and different cultures! Alfie' dinner tonight : Homemade turkey chili with herbie #parsnipchips - the chilli also contains leeks, green beans, peppers and coconut yogurt to increase his intake of veg and probiotics Essential for gut health. Turkey contains L-tryptophan (essential amino acid) . Our bodies can't make it, so our diet must supply tryptophan. Amino acids are building blocks of proteins. Tryptophan also helps you to #sleep ... so giving the kids turkey as part of their evening meal is a great shout! 💤💤💤💤This took 20 mins from start to finish #fastpaleo#budgetpaleo#PitFam#protein#hiddenveg#nutrientseeker#fibre#brainfood#colourful
Who needs a tuna melt when you can have a sardine paté melt?! 😜
OK, certainly not my most visually pleasing (or maybe sounding) dish, but if you only new how damn good this tastes and how damn good it is for you, you totally wouldn't care.
And yes, oddly enough sardines, anchovies, and fish in general have been a pregnancy craving of mine. Or, maybe not so oddly enough since at this stage in the game is when the babe is putting on fat (to be fit to survive in this whole new world) and doing serious brain development.
Speaking of #brainfood ...sardines! They're low in mercury and exceptionally high in absorbable #omega3 fatty acids, both essential to brain and skin health and it's one of the few #realfoods through which we can get #VitaminD (best source is ALWAYS the sun). If you're low on Vit D, sardines are a must for you. More on that in my post on The Truth About Sun Safety here (link also in profile) -
Oh and protein, they've got lots of it!
Aside from all of that, on a technical level, they're just easy to work with, especially because you can but them in a can. I like @wildplanetfoods sardines in water #wildcaught If you've got an aversion to them, paté is for real the way to go.
🐟1 can sardines
🐟salt + pepper (to taste)
🐟1/4 C small onion (I like shallot or green)
🐟 fresh cilantro (or herb of choice proportionate to your taste buds)
🐟 lemon or lime juice
🐟1-2 TBS grass-fed butter or ghee
🐟3 TBS avo or olive oil
🐟chili powder (optional)
🐟 garlic (optional)
Toss it all in a food processor together and blend till smooth. To make a sardine paté melt, slather sardine paté onto a piece of whatever bread your body can tolerate...I recommend @jovialfoods einkorn bread or @legitbreadcompany #paleobread top with whatever cheese your body can handle. I like a nice #raw#grassfed cheddar or @kitehillfoods #dairyfree almond cream cheese. Broil in the oven till melted (don't you put this masterpiece in the microwave! And, eeeew, fish in the microwave?!). Devour warm, with tomatoes on the side as I have if you like.
Oh and of course, let me know how you liked it!

Spicy salmon roll salad strikes again! Canned, wild-caught salmon mixed with @primalkitchenfoods mayo, sriracha, and coconut aminos, over greens, cucumber, and avocado, and all drizzled with sesame oil. Like your favorite sushi roll but faster and more nutritious.
Super simple lunch today. Grassfed beef cooked with onions and topped with some goat cheese. Guacamole with veggie dippers. Cucumber, grape tomatoes, and snap peas. Plus an almond milk latte with added collagen peptides. #paleolunch#easypaleo#fastpaleo#whole30 if you take the cheese off.
Not just your average carrot-ginger juice!
Last night, as I was using a bag of 🥕to make a special bday dinner my hubs, which, I of course forgot to take a pic of, a breakfast juice-smoothie idea struck! I haven't wanted smoothies in a while (I'll share why later today), so I was extra excited!
I don't know what to call this yet, so will just call it Not Yo Mama's Carrot Juice Smoothie 😜
🥕unsweetened coconut milk yogurt/kefir (I had just made some so I used homemade, but you could use a quality store bought one)
🍗hydrolyzed collagen or bone broth powder ...
Juice the fruits and roots then blend with the yogurt and collagen/bone broth powder. It's effing awesome!
This is a fantastic skin-care friendly smoothie. The fruits are packed with antioxidants. The carrots are packed with an antioxidant called beta-carotene (found in red/orange/yellow fruits and veggies) which your body converts into vitamin A, which prevents cell damage, premature aging and sun damage. Turmeric is super anti-inflammatory as well. Papaya contains a digestive enzymes important for helping to break down good during the digestive process. Ginger + Bone Broth are very soothing and healing for your gut and especially your gut lining. And, fermented foods, like homemade coconut milk yogurt/kefir contain gut friendly microorganisms (like Probiotics) which help to support digestive healthy colonizing in gut which simultaneously help to support gut and immune health.
Booyah! Wheaties ain't got nothin' on this!
Okie, going to go finish the rest of mine now 😘
#dairyfree#refinedsugarfree Sea Salt Caramel #nicecream just went into my latest kitchen gadget (a #chanukah gift from my hubs!)! I've never used a nice cream churn before. Well actually, that's not true. I've churned an ice cream manually before but that was ages ago! I'm super pumped to see what comes out of this machine and cant wait to serve it up to my friends as a little surprise treat. I'll get to experimenting with my own recipes and flavors soon, but for now, a big thanks to @minimalistbaker for this awesome recipe.
