The Sherman Oaks Galleria earned its stripes as a teenage shopping mall paradise in 1980's Los Angeles. Due to several store closures and damage sustained in the 1994 Northridge earthquake, the iconic imagery has been refurbished into an outdoor haven. In its heyday, it was an easy filming location, notably playing the preferred weekend hangout of Ridgemont High students and the spot where Arnold Schwarzenegger tossed a phone booth at an army of bad guys and security guards in Commando. #shermanoaks#la#fasttimesatridgemonthigh#commando#shermanoaksgalleria#galleria#architecture
We head back to the 80's with today's "Equip, Entertain". Fast Times At Ridgemont High is a coming-of-age comedy that explores the lives of several young adults trying to find their way through life. In this scene with Stacy and her friend, Linda, we spot a Hobart Planetary Mixer in the background. This scene takes place at a pizza parlor they work at in the Ridgemont mall, which plays host to a majority of movie progression and character development. And in case you were interested in context, they were discussing how long boys typically "last". I'll leave it at that.
