Locked and loaded in case the bakery gets to be too much for me to handle today. Work is a huge trigger for me. You can only hold so many scones and pastries before your mind starts to get tired! I do everything I can to set myself up for a win. I pack snacks, drink plenty of water, eat ENOUGH in the morning. Not just what my mind *thinks should be enough.* And I continue to tell myself that food is NOT the enemy, therefor what I'm feeling has nothing to do with the food and all to do with the way I've conditioned myself to handle stress with food. I remind myself I truly have everything I need, and there's no reason my body would actually crave 7 chocolate chip scones in one sitting. That's my emotions talking, not my body. Learn how to set yourself up for a win, and then don't be afraid to do it, assuming this time will be different. "This shift will be better." Or "This Shift will be easier." Nope. Plan, and overplan. And then plan again. Often times, when I get the urge to eat ALL THE THINGS at the bakery, it's not even because I'm hungry for them. It's because I feel stranded like "OMG I CAN'T EAT ANYTHING HERE." When I bring extra snacks, often times I don't even eat them. It just helps to know I CAN eat them. I don't feel trapped.
So I just invented this tonight! I’m calling it Vanilla Fat Shake and I guess it’s like the equivalent of a #ketoproteinshake . I needed something post workout and this was both delicious and satisfying. Recipe in the comments, swipe for macros!
Thought I’d test my blood ketones this morning (Tuesday) and was surprised to get this reading! This is taken post fasted cardio at 5am. I hadn’t supplemented with any exogenous ketones since Saturday morning, and Sunday to Monday I worked in a 24 hour fast. I am currently using @ketosports #keto8 MCT oil which I’m certain is helping with this high reading.

We tried a new fat bomb recipe tonight 🍪🍪Cookie Dough 🍪🍪It was easy to make, however it's not my favorite(Kristy). I can't figure out why?... maybe it's the texture? Another great gut healing food: SAUERKRAUT! I normally make my own but today I picked this @ceresorganics one up from the supermarket 😊 2 tablespoons of this with my meals each day combined with the bone broth and I'll be on my way to great gut health again!
Got my second batch of bone broth for the week ticking away in the slow cooker 🙂 I have started to get back into making it as I have been lazy for the last couple months and have really noticed a difference with not having it for that long. It really does heal your gut as they say! And great for hair and skin also... in fact there are many health benefits to bone broth! definitely worth including in your diet if you ask me 👍🏻😀
KETO in VEGAS! I've been keto for 5 months and decided to stay keto during my trip to Vegas last weekend. Why? Because on keto I feel amazing, with great energy, no cravings or sluggishness. When I'm traveling & on a fun couple's trip, I want to feel my best! Sure there were foods I avoided, but it's such a way of life now it didn't bother me, I was so satisfied with the delicious foods I ate. In the past, trying to stay on a "diet" while on a trip was torturous! A lot of my keto fam here have inspired me that it's possible to travel & stay healthy & Keto!

Thurs. Dinner at Giordana's: Greek salad, toppings from 1 LG slice meat lovers, glass Merlot.
Friday late am: coffee, insides of 1/2 a b-fast wrap (eggs, chorizo, cheese, avacado, tomato) 2 bites waffle fry. Friday early dinner buffet pre iheart: salad, snow crab legs, boiled shrimp, grilled vegies, 2 bites swt potato, chunk of ham & Brazilian pork, 2 sm sugar free desserts.
Saturday brunch at Guy Fieri's: coffee, toppings of chilquiles: grilled steak pieces, salsa, 2 bites tortilla chips, crema, poblano, 2 eggs, avacado.
Early dinner preconcert. Virgil's BBQ on LINQ Promenade: Chris and I shared a plate of brisket and pulled pork, bite of cornbread muffin & only couple bites of the coleslaw since the dressing tasted sweet.
Couple vodka club sodas.
Sunday: 3 pm buffet at Caesar's Palace buffet. It's been voted number 1 buffet in the country & I believe it now! It was amazing! I tasted many keto friendly bites...2 bites of a lot of things! My favorites were: the pork belly with a taste of the polenta, snow crab legs, mushroom soup, slice of melt in mouth slab bacon, jicama salad, a rib, beautiful fresh petite salads & sf chocolate mousse. I did splurge + have 2 bites of creme brulee and 2 bites of tiramisu. We left the buffet at 4:30 yesterday & I fasted & was content until today at 2:30.
I know this was a long post but I hope that it'll encourage some that it's possible to enjoy life & enjoy food while traveling on keto & not feel deprived!:)
All of the Belgian beer! Can we go back to Europe again, like right now?! Obvi beer is not Keto, but you know what? That didn't stop me from enjoying every delicious drop from this awesome Belgian microbrewery.
I live a Ketogenic lifestyle because it's what makes me feel my best while fighting off chronic & life-threatening disease. And because my body is fat-adapted, I was able to indulge in all of the amazing foods and drinks of the incredible places we visited during a trip we were SO looking forward to, then come home & drop my "vacation weight" in under a week. Home is where the ❤️ is, and home is where I live la bids Keto.
