Today I want to celebrate Cara! 🎉🎉😁💪🏻 I love what she shares in her story about the need for a healthy mind and relationship with food. It’s amazing the power that changing our mindset has on our success ❤️🤩 Here is her story:
I have had an unhealthy relationship with food since childhood. I have always turned to food as a way to deal with depression, anxiety, boredom, and even to award myself for a job well done. Food was a lifeline for me to get through any and all situations. Add to that a problem with a negative body image, and it lead to a really unhealthy life both mentally and physically. I put my body through the ringer for years. I have gained and lost up to fifty pounds multiple times, and tried everything from skipping meals, OTC appitite suppressants, prescribed diet pills, fad diets and exercise programs. I was able to lose the weight with all of these things, but after I lost the weight it always came back because I reverted back to my bad eating habits when something stressful came up. (I have anxiety, so stress is a constant in my life.) After years of just figuring I was going to always be overweight, I decided that I really wanted to lose weight for my son's wedding. (I decided the same thing for my daughter's wedding, but didn't succeed.) I started macro counting, and lost forty pounds. I felt great, and swore I wouldn't gain it back this time. Then the holidays came, and I gained thirty pounds back. I had surgery in April and couldn't exercise for a while, so I turned to macro counting again, and gained weight. I was desperate to try anything. Then in July I was introduced to a program by my sister-in-law that is not only for weight loss, but also helps you pinpoint and change the bad habits that got me fifty pounds overweight in the first place. It is a program designed to acheive optimal health for your mind and body, and helps you create healthy habits for a lifetime.
I love what this program has done for me, and that there is a transition and maintenance phase as well. This is a lifelong program that will keep me healthy both mentally and physically, and that is so important to me. 😁❤️💪🏻🎉🍏🍎🥦
