23ALMOND'S DREAM: KONG MANIA, pt. 5
WHAT HAPPENED SO FAR: "It was a long dream. I worked for someone but it was a new boss. It was a weird vibe, then it transferred to my current and real boss having a party and her coming to me and we bang banged and then told me her husband knew it was going to happen.
During that same party after my encounter with my boss, I decided to go the back yard. There was flat ground and hillside with windy trees climbing up that hill. Dirt. No green.
There, I knew there was trouble. King Kong was coming. Or something like him.
He was after us. Us being two other people and me - while the rest of the party no longer existed. We decided to climb up the tree to attempt hiding. It was successful for a minute until he saw a piece of me.
I didn’t realize I wasn’t completely hidden because I noticed miniature wolves planted into the ground with just their heads out and eyes closed.
They were about to be ready.
Almost ready to attack. We were surrounded by them. Any moment we would have to fight off little dogs and a huge Kong."
AND NOW, FURTHER: "When King Kong spotted me all hell broke loose. We climbed and climbed.
There were moments of chaos and moments where we successfully hid. This time, we climbed up to a patch of houses.
Miniature houses. Big enough to fit in them but small enough for King Kong to have planted them as a maze for his bait. I went in for hiding.
I’m not sure where the other two went. I worked my way around trying to avoid him. He found me once. I escaped and hid in another house."
Whoa, I want to know did Kong find our dreamer?
Join tomorrow and check out the conclusion of the story...
We drove past the Christmas tree and lights being set up in our town square yesterday on our way to the grocery store and my son was instantly 😍😍😍. Luckily, the lights are being turned on tonight before we head home for Thanksgiving! And now Morrie is asking non-stop for us to do “a mix-up holiday” where he wears his Halloween skeleton pajamas and we take down all of our Thanksgiving decorations to set up our Christmas decorations. 😂 Do you do anything special with your kids when setting up Christmas decorations? I’m thinking we’ll do hot chocolate and cookies. Here’s wishing you and yours a cozy weekend ❤️
All he needed to do was place his lips close to her ears and her face lit up to the sky like she was watching the most miraculous meteor shower. This is the power of love my friends. Live Loud. (i kind of care.) due to pacing/sequencing of my feed this is just what has to happen and i have to post it NOW because i need to share my friday introduction with you, but the photos need to be spaced out. ya feel? ya feel. oh and sarah and tony are magic, huh.
I️ feel like this series deserves a hashtag, but i don’t have enough brain cells left to think of one. Momlife. ⠀
I’ve decided after another difficult day, to start documenting the specific things that usually drive me crazy from our day to day! I’ve found this shift in perspective helps me see the humor in every part of this crazy vocation of motherhood, because when I️ take a step back I’m much more likely to laugh instead of cry. 🤷🏽♀️👍🏽😂⠀
For the first photo of this new unnamed series, I present our daily bathroom struggle! 😂⠀
He could literally spend the entire day making faces in the bathroom mirror and playing with the water from the sink. Each of his bathroom trips take 20 minutes because he can’t stop, won’t stop. 😂😂😂😍😍⠀
I can’t help but chuckle when I watch him checking his reflection, though! 😂😍😍😍
Photographing parents and their little ones has a whole new meaning now that we have our own sweet babe. We understand in a new way all that it takes for a family to get themselves in front of our camera and also just how truly priceless and fleeting these moments we capture are.
Over the years I've built a pretty extensive portfolio of work with women who want to document their bodies, whether to celebrate a pregnancy, as a gift, or just for themselves, and I absolutely love the power, beauty, and connection involved. If you've ever considered it, please contact me... it's the best work I've done that I never share!

I have this ongoing struggle between my striving, achievement-oriented self and my laissez-faire, go-with-the-flow self who hates to be overscheduled. While in Hawaii last week, I found myself drawn to the pace of life on O’ahu’s North Shore, which stood in stark contrast to the rush of Southern California life. The two-lane highway (where no one ever honks), the wandering chickens, the periodic rains—all a reminder to slow things down and enjoy the beauty of this earth.
Sitting on the beach while my husband surfed a spot east of Pipeline, I watched these two grommettes scope out the waves, hang in with much more experienced surfers, and relish the joy of spending a day off from school in one of the most beautiful places on earth. There were no to-do lists, no homework to do or errands to run. Just waves to ride... I don’t know about you, but I really want to do what I can to avoid the crazy rush of the holidays this year. As a photographer, that can feel like Herculean task, but I am hoping a little of that aloha spirit rubbed off on me. What about you? Do you have any tips for slowing things down and enjoying the season instead of merely surviving it? Believe me, with four kids, I can use all the help I can get! 🌸🌸🌸Mahalo!🌸🌸🌸
I wish I had started my photography journey about 10 years (or more) earlier than I did because I missed out on capturing so many sweet moments like this between townes and kate. Sure, I remember some and I did take pictures. They're better than nothing 💜 Then again, they might have grown up thinking this is what my face looked like: 📷. #betterlatethannever#creeper#denvernewbornphotographer
