Polly's Pies!🍰If you haven't been to @pollyspies - you need to go NOW. Amazing, delicious, traditional comfort food.🥐🍞🍝🥘I like to think of it as Thanksgiving all year round.😍 Honestly, I used to think Polly's was "yucky" but I could eat it everyday now. Forget the negative stigma of "only old people eat there" , or whatever it may be- and try something new to you: even if it is somewhere old! Even the service was great! My server, Alex, was SO KIND, and was SO concerned about making my meal GREAT!😋 And it was! Seriously, one of the best salads I have ever had, and the meatloaf with mashed taters🥔 and green beans was BOMB! I might have to admit that the best part of the meal was the complimentary, fresh-baked rolls and cornbread🥐🥖. Polly's is probably one of the best bakeries: ever.🤤. Happy Mabon! (One day early) Celebrated the end of harvest festival with some food friends and family in what I hope will be a regular series of dinner parties celebrating the pre-Christian holidays, using seasonal foods, flora and beverages. This evening we gave thanks for the bounty of the earth and all our privileges. We drank local cider and wine, ate saffron risotto, kale salad, home-baked bread, grilled zucchini (courgettes for the Brits in the house) and roasted brussel sprouts with lots of nuts and seeds, plus homemade apple tart and our own harvest of three whole cherry tomatoes from the window box! We gave thanks and spoke about the things we had achieved this year that we were proud of.
