Medjool Date + Sunflower seed butter + homemade coconut whip cream (snag the crazy simple recipe in the comments).
❗️ TRUTH TIME 😬 So some of you may have remembered when I said I was beginning to follow the Clean Program about 18 days ago.... making today day 18/21! However I want to share with you all that things haven’t been perfect over the past 18 days. 🤷🏼♀️ Now this isn’t because of lack of control, or carelessness. Rather, it’s because I’ve wanted to partake in specific experiences and these “forbidden” foods on the clean program happened to be part of them! I was fully aware of every bit of food I put in my mouth over the past 18 days that weren’t technically Clean Program Approved and the best part? I didn’t feel GUILT. In the past I was SUPER strict on myself with my eating. I thought any little slip up in my diet would lead to a lack of progress. I would eat foods because they were “good” for my body, despite the enjoyment factor. When in reality how much good was that really doing to my health? Enjoyment is a huge part of eating, and when we enjoy our food, our bodies process them a heck of a lot better than when we don’t. So yes, I consumed ghee in one of my classes where we made an Indian dish, and honey when making an elixir in another class. I had white rice and shared a slice of chocolate ganache with my boyfriend on a date night, I had a tomato and/or a pepper here and there because it was included in my meal I grabbed on the go and picking it out wasn’t of interest to me. I’ve managed to not consume any other sugar, no oats, no eggs, no gf bread and to me these are all wins, and I will continue this until day 21. But let me tell ya.... eating has not been quite as fun without all these things! 😏 So when the day comes and I am actually “finished” I will incorporate these back into my diet. But in moderation of course! 😋 .
Treated myself this morning and made a classic me. Before you call me the egg girl again, understand that this one was special. Crispy Parsley Fried Eggs, they're pretty self explanatory but let me know if you want the recipe!🌿 P.s. I made this plate and it's my proudest achievement
*New recipe alert!* Warm, creamy comfort food goodness has arrived on the blog today! (And it's actually healthy!) My AIP & Paleo Instant Pot Pumpkin Alfredo with Apple Sage Meatballs recipe will hit the spot on crisp Fall nights! I love it over spaghetti squash, but it'd be great with any pasta or rice you like! Enjoy it this weekend!

last night's breakfast for dinner...gf pumpkin waffles. i made mine sweet (banana, toasted almonds, maple syrup). david chose savory (eggs, avo, hummus). and elia ate a little of all of it because what's better than someone else's plate 🤷🏻♀️
What's a cure for the common cold? Well it has to be a big fluffy paleo pumpkin waffle with excessive amounts of cashew butter drizzle am I right?
Well while I am still sick, this waffle made it a little easier to deal 😁 @birchbenders paleo pumpkin pancake mix with pecan, cashew butter and coconut nectar. I love using coconut nectar instead of maple syrup because it's low glycemic, and has less sugar. 🙌🏻
I still remember when I first had #falafel . I was like--how has this not been part of my life before! Grabbed a big plate of #glutenfree falafel with rice, hummus, feta, and cucumber salad for supper the other day after a long day at work.

#Sponsored . I’ve always been the baker in my family and I like to bake Pookah surprise treats when he gets home from school. With his allergies, I couldn’t make some of our traditional family favorites, but we are making new ones! Today I’m making Gluten Free Cranberry Pecan Scones using these new Buttery Sticks from @countrycrock that make baking at the last minute an option (because you know I always run out of time). They are made with sunflower oil and are ready to use right out of the refrigerator. Making scones is easy, especially if you have all of your ingredients ready before you start, and @countrycrock helps make baking them even easier. #WhenWeBake
Woke up feeling incredibly grateful for community this morning. 💓 My nutrition and wellness journey has introduced me to some of the KINDEST people, and nights like last night at the @ellwoodsrva happy hour with @healthwarrior + @restoring_radiance present such sweet opportunities to connect with beautiful health-minded fellow foodies like @restoring_radiance @silenceoftheyam @paleo_rva @realfoodwithgratitude @healthygirlrva and @tayrva ! 🤗
But what does community really have to do with health? 🤔 Everything! One of my favorite examples is when @markhymanmd launched a healthy lifestyle program at Pastor Rick Warren's church in Southern California. The participants who worked through the program in a small group lost TWO TIMES as much weight as the ones who did the program solo! 😱 Whether your health goal is to change your body composition or just do a better job planning out & cooking meals, recruit a friend!!! 👭👫👬 As the old African proverb states: if you want to travel swiftly, travel alone, if you want to travel FAR, travel TOGETHER. 😙❤
A rising tide lifts all ships ⛵ and it warms my heart to see people supporting each other on their health journey.💖 We're made for community!!! I love being encouraged by others and watching the #rva wellness tribe grow! 😀
Might not eggsactly be the prettiest 💁🏻 but it was eggscellent 🤓 .
One @alfrescogourmet sausage, an organic over easy egg sprinkled with turmeric & pepper with some avocado & lotsa @franksredhot 🍳🥑💥
How do you like to start off your morning?! ☀️

╉ VEGETARIAN CAULIFLOWER & FRESH HERB FRITTATA ╉
One from the archives this morning. I know so many people who getting stuck in the rut on having the same thing for breaky every day as they are lost for ideas. This frittata is super simple to make & your breaky is set for the week! .
This dish is so super easy to prepare, chuck it all in a food processor, stir through your veggies & pop in the oven. The beauty about this meal is you can have it for breakfast, lunch & dinner. If you add pumpkin seeds it makes it a fall dish, am I right, or am I right? 😉 Pesto pasta tuna salad made w/ red lentil pasta, homemade vegan pesto and @wildplanetfoods albacore tuna. Making this dish both gluten free and dairy free and SUPER tasty! Even added a little roasted butternut squash which adds the perfect hint of sweetness! I made a big batch of this on Monday and I’ve had it for lunch the past 3 days. Perfect because it can be eaten cold and on the go, which is exactly what I’ve been needing on these busy days! Counting down the days until Sunday because I have the whole day OFF finally 😍 Now to go volunteer for the rest of the day, serving some sautéed apples and oatmeal to the food bank shoppers for my volunteer hours today! 😋

This brand spankin' new recipe is SO DELICIOUS. All-caps-worthy delicious. Sweet potato noodles + spinach + peanut sauce = yassss. 🍠🍃💚 29 minutes (if that) and done! Switch up the toppings to make it vegan or meaty. It's up on the blog now: https://www.kitchentreaty.com/20-minute-peanut-sweet-potato-noodles-with-spinach/
I am sick today and being an infant about it. Like, I really want this soup but really-really don’t want to get up to make it. Recipe (from way back): Cold-Busting Paleo Chicken Soup. #worthypause#paleo#whole30#glutenfree
Dinner leftovers turned into lunch! Spaghetti squash with creamy 🍅 sauce [dairy-free] over spinach topped with kalamata olives, olive oil and a little bit of @traderjoes everything but the bagel spice blend. 🌿🍅🍝
Not pictured: smoked herring 🐟 tossed in @stevespaleogoods sriracha, olive oil, a little 🍎 cider vinegar with a few chopped olives. If you like tuna, TRUST ME, you can eat herring. It's safer, full of brain-protecting anti-inflammatory fats, VIP minerals (and it tastes better if you ask me!!) 😋
Squash & creamy 🍅 sauce:⤵
•Cooked the squash in our pressure cooker in 7 MINUTES! 👌
•While that was cooking I blended 3 TBS raws cashews, 3 TBS hemp hearts, 1 TBS nutritional yeast, ~3/4 cup no-sugar-added 🍅 sauce, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 tsp oregano, 1/4 tsp sea salt & 1/2 warm water in our little Ninja. Super simple and FAST. ⏳⏰
