'tis injustice when some wholesale companies dump spoiled produce rather than taking a loss when it was still edible by selling it much cheaper or donating it to organizations who could deliver it to impoverished areas of the city where fresh produce isn't as affordable. the amount of waste should be shocking and more pallets of food are still being brought to the dump as i post this. contrast the waste in food with the waste in money on construction and it's pretty clear something needs to change.

Two years ago we took on the massive feat of feeding those who needed it most. We received an overwhelming response from you all and raised over $1,700 to go towards this cause. This time we want to make it even bigger. On August 12th, at 9:00 AM, at Hurt Park we are going to feed people experiencing homelessness once more. I want to make this as big as possible so I am asking for donations towards this cause. Regardless of how big or small every donation is appreciated. Click the link in my bio to donate.
Yesterday I served as a community ambassador for Food Forward at the Mar Vista Farmer's Market. In addition to spreading the word about FF's work in recovering food that would otherwise go to waste and delivering it directly to people in need, I got to meet some other people making a difference. I'd heard such great things about Homeboy Industries from my work at the Watts re-entry clinic, and today I got to connect with one of its members, Martin, who has been with them since 2010 and was manning their booth. Homeboy Industries provides hope, training, and support to former gang members who want to turn their lives around. Not only do they reintegrate into their communities, they become leaders in helping their community! 100% of the money I spent on their baked goods goes straight back into the program. Check them out -- they also have a catering service that is operated by Homegirl Cafe. How awesome is this?!? ❤ #bethelight#changetheworld#inspireeachother
I served with this fabulous crew at our church today to feed people who are hungry and need assistance. Around 25 people today had a hot meal (fried chicken, mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, salad & fruit) and left with bags of leftovers & sandwiches made with lots of love ❤️ Boca Helping Hands @bocahelpinghands does this Monday-Friday from our little fellowship hall here in West Boca

About my weekend??? 😁👏👏👏 "if you can't feed a hundred people then just feed one " - Mother Theresa . It was an amazing experience getting to feed the hungry this weekend in the Feed the hungry- Noodles for a family June 24th @inspiring_working_women_ (IWW) challenge. With deep passion we worked, we conquered and we fed over 500 homes in various locations around Nigeria and Kenya. It was an amazing, fun and beautiful experience . I hope you get to join us in the next challenge - 👍🏼👍🏼👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽😁😁❤️❤️.
