✨Self Care ✨
Self-care is something you do to help maintain your physical, mental or emotional health. I believe you have to practice self-care daily in order to maintain a Healthy Lifestyle. So what Self-Care strategies do I practice daily? 👇🏻
1️⃣ Make time for something that makes you feel good or relaxed EVERY day. For me- that’s moving my body first thing; workout, walk, run, bootcamp session ✨‘Me Time’✨.
2️⃣ Be prepared, have a plan. Schedule those ‘Me-time’ activities in your diary or calendar. Have a clear vision of when you will fit it in. Have a variety of different activities/practices in case one doesn’t work out.
3️⃣ Make YOU your No. 1 priority. If a social or work commitment comes up during your scheduled Self-care time, tell them you’re busy...because you are!! You can’t foster your best relationships, best friendships, complete your best work if YOU aren’t feeling your best.
4️⃣ Emotional regulation: learn how to process your emotions so they don’t build up (this is a massive one for me- years of keeping everything inside negatively impacted my mental health). Talk to a friend, family member or professional. Write in a journal. Just get those thoughts & emotions out 🤯
5️⃣ Learn to switch off. When I’m exercising, my mind is 💯% in ‘the zone’. Nothing else is on my mind, all the little worries or issues going on in life don’t matter right then & there. It’s my release. You might read a book, go for a walk, listen to music.
6️⃣ Have some quick fixes that you can do anywhere, anytime. Mine- 20 minute walk around the block after a tough work day or a good stretch & foam roll while listening to music 🎶
7️⃣ Eat nutritious foods that leave you feeling good on the inside AND fuel your active lifestyle.
8️⃣ Hydrate & get enough sleep 💤 Both allow your body to function optimally, making you FEEL good on the inside.
Remember that just like everything else, MY self-care practices may not work for you. We are individuals with different goals & needs. Overall, get to know YOU, what works best for YOU! Make yourself a priority. 🌟 YOU are the most important person in your life. That’s not being selfish...that’s necessary 🌟

1. I have a degree in linguistics with a minor in German. 2. I spent a year living in Germany. 3. I suck at math and still count on my fingers 🙈 4. I hate anything grape or watermelon flavoured. 5. I still don't know how to pluck my eyebrows properly so I just wax them. 6. I am an only child 7. I still sleep with stuffed animals 8. I take a blanket and a pillow with me anytime I travel. 9. I didn't grow up being "popular" I was very shy, overweight and bullied.
10. I'm obsessed with essential oils, use them for everything daily. 🤗🤗🤗 .
