Attempting to see if a few drops of lavender essential oil does anything to tame the hospital madness!!! (Usually requires something stronger such as...whisky). This essential oils necklace is a cool little guy though and I smell like a field of lavender. @lavaessentials
N i l a g a | Last night my mom came over and cooked one of my favorite Filipino dishes. Nilaga is a hearty soup with beef, ginger, potatoes and veggies. Along with bok choy, we also added @newearthfarmvb Tokyo Bekana from last week’s CSA box. We always eat nilaga with pickled peppers, fish sauce and rice👌🏼

Steel Cut Oats Topped with Cranberry Walnut Relish, Apple Slices & Pomegranate Arils
. 💁🏻When you think of the holiday season, lots of special foods come to mind, but one fruit stands out -- the crimson colored cranberry. Although they’re known for their ability to prevent and calm UTIs, cranberries were used by Native Americans for their healthful nutrients and phytochemicals long before they hit the Thanksgiving dinner table. Cranberries have vitamin C and fiber, and are only 45 calories per cup. In disease-fighting antioxidants, cranberries outrank nearly every fruit and vegetable--including strawberries, spinach, broccoli, red grapes, apples, raspberries, and cherries. One cup of whole cranberries has 8,983 total antioxidant capacity. Only blueberries can top that: Wild varieties have 13,427; cultivated blueberries have 9,019. What’s more, cranberries improve oral health, reduce the risk for cardiovascular disease, increase immunity, and are cited as a food that fends off cancer. Research has also shown that cranberries can potentially slow the progression of tumors. Their peak harvest season is November (with December being the last part of the season), but you can find them frozen or dried year round!
nothing beats a sunny sunday, especially when it includes a fun #sundayrunday and smoothies on the balcony ☀️ 6 miles total, 3 running, 3 walking this morning, and now for a quick smoothie before a day of Christmas-ing 🎄🎅🏼

It’s Sunday and I have spent another weekend home in PA. As much as I love being home it definitely means I am off my routine. More junk food, more sugar, less sleep, no gym time but a whole lot of family love. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My only advice about these types of situations is don’t stress bc that will only throw your body further out of wack. Instead enjoy it, take in what your meant to take in, be 💯 in the moment and know that you’ll come back to that routine as soon as you can. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
That being said I am off to eat some Christmas 🎄 cookies 🍪 for breakfast and spend the rest of my Sunday morning relaxing until it’s time to drive back to NY. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
How your spending your holidays below. Do you have any favorite traditions? Do you stress over lack of routine during the holidays? Let me know below or DM me to chat! XO
Maple glazed Delicata Squash
Preheat oven to 400F
Take 2 squash, rinse and slice into rings.
Place rings on a baking sheet and set aside. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In a small bowl whisk together 2tbsp maple syrup, 1tbsp avo oil, 1tsp mustard, salt & pepper to taste. Then take a basting brush and coat the top of your squash. Flip squash over and coat the other side. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Place in oven for 15-25 minutes until squash starts to brown. Flipping once at the ten minute mark. When done you can easily remove seeds from the rings and serve!
Spiritual Guidance and Physical Wellness Advice from @livepurejenna
“The way we react, respond or view something is simply because of a learned behaviour, habit, thought pattern or a defensive mechanism (mostly from being hurt) that we have acquired over the years starting from birth. Whether it was from environmental factors or just being inexperienced and not knowing any better, it is all okay! What matters is how we handle the things that are now being brought up in the present moment for us to learn from. When we have the drive, dedication and openness to have a greater sense of comprehension as to how and why we react or feel about certain things and unravel where it comes from and how to deal with it respectfully, we can start to transcend and heal. It may sound intimidating or scary to face emotions from the past that are still programming you today but I find it very exciting! We have the ability to transcend to our highest potential through recognition and being open to the inner work that needs to take place for healing.”

What are you currently struggling with?
I was at a family Christmas party last night and while talking to a family member about business and my clients he said Michelle, have you realized that SO many people need your help?
And it dawned on me that there are so many of you that need something more out of life. That you may be struggling inside thinking this is all I will ever be. I am too busy working my 9-5 and providing for my family that taking care of myself just is not in the cards for me.
Thinking I have never succeeded at anything before so this time won't be different. Playing the yo-yo and fad diet game all too well. Well, it's time to STOP playing the game. It's time for you to ask for help, support and guidance.
You may think reaching out and asking for help is a sign of weakness. I tell you it is not. It is one of the bravest and strongest things you can do. And remember it's to HELP yourself, and create the best version of yourself.
You, yes you are worthy and deserving of feeling, looking and being your best. And it is possible to do it all in healthy sustainable way.
So I challenge you this Sunday to ask yourself what you really want and what is it going to be this coming year.
If you answered this question with the answer that YOU ARE GOING TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE then let's chat, DM me or click the link in my bio for my Hartzbodyfitness Academy. I am only taking on 3 more women in this coming new year, that could be you!💕
If you eat the best you will look your best! 👀 🍎 . I opted for this chia seeds and fruits pudding for an on the hop lunch!
I was having a bit of an Id dilemma, craving carbs and feeling I needed to eat a sandwich, that would likely have left me feeling bloated and 😷, the super ego came to my rescue and guided me to this 'superfood' pudding instead! Id (0) me (1).

“At this point I have taken over for 35,000 photos in the last four years in the abstract series. Of those I probably feel like maybe I have 100 that are amazing.
I’m always looking for that 101st photo that fits in with the very best.
The continual search for something wonderfully surprising in a random way is what inspires me. When I say in a random way, what I mean is that I have very little control as to what will happen when the paint hits the water.”

Sleepy Sundays 😴 always call for a warm bowl of chocolate oats topped with @meridianfoods cocoa hazelnut butter and @superfoodieseu cacao nibs cause weekends are meant for eating chocolate right 🍫
Soo warming most people would look at this bowl and think its not that healthy but it actually contains alot of nutrients.
In a saucepan add 60g @quakeroatsuk jumbo oats
1 banana 🍌
25g @thatprotein blissful cacao ( which contains lots of goodness with out all the added sugars and rubbish and its vegan)
1 tsp @naturesheartsuperfoods cacao
100ml of which ever milk/ plant based milk you prefer
Blend for 30 seconds pour over the oats and heat until your desired consistency.
Then i topped mine with @whitworthsuk dates, nut butter and cacao nibs.
So in this bowl i had a good portion of slow releasing carbs, 2 portions of fruit, protein and good fats so over all this yummy bowl of goodness is actually nutritious.
Have a great weekend peep and its only 8 days till christmas 🎅🏻
This week’s Frankenstein loaf was spelt with @mayversfood peanut and cacao spread (in the actual dough!) 🥜🍫, vanilla bean paste, chopped medjool dates and cacao nibs. It was a bit of a last-minute experiment with the add-ins so the resulting crumb wasn’t 100% (a tad dense, epic for toast though) but the flavours in this loaf are 👌🏻 If I do this one again I’ll mix the spread into the water/starter slush at the very beginning to get the liquid quantities more precise. Overall though, pretty happy with this for a first go! 🍞 #sourdoughsunday
