I am not normally one to do shout outs but my awesome friend and fellow artist Jo is now on IG. Check out her gorgeous pottery @honey_pottery. I'm so lucky to have two of her little flowers vases for my daphnne.
Rod flowers! I started making these after I went to the Arizona Renaissance festival and met with another ceramic artist, who made something similar to these forms of flowers and he was so sweet! Unfortunately I cannot find his business card, but he was one of those artist that you can get talking about technique for hours with! My sister bought one of his cottage mugs and he kissed my hand and gave me a flower! It's been in my car since and every time I look at it I think about the potters lifestyle and the hope it gives me to one day live off of my pottery as well! People that get to do jobs that they love seem so happy and humbled! The form of these flowers were inspired by that sweet man, but the glaze was inspired by our wonderful @elanpottery who I also was able to see her work that same day at the Arizona Renaissance festival and I had no idea who she was at the time! A few days after the Renaissance festival I found her on IG with the business card I had picked up at the faire, and I've been obsessed with her style since! I'm excited to hopefully meet her in person this next AZ faire and have a chance to tell her how much inspiration she has been for me. Glazing had always been my worst fear in ceramics and her work has helped me find the look I've been searching for! (Leigh Anne @elanpottery if you know the male pottery who does the cottage mugs from the AZ faire I would love to get into contact with him, he said he lives in CO like myself and we would have a lot of fun working together I think) #ceramic#flowers#rodflower#pottery#friendswhoplaywithmud#mudlife#etsymudteam#peopleimpact#fellowartist#loveart#loveclay#clay#mud#makersgonnamake#howiamaco#howimayco#howiduncan#motherofpearl#lustrelife#rainbow
