How do you define a fro athlete? Black woman or girl (hence #fro/#pro) who’s an athlete and/or interested in fitness and health. You don’t already have to be active in a physical sport. Just checking in since I’ve been MIA with my head stuck in a textbook. BUT finally almost done with the semester! One more exam tomorrow morning and I’m free as bird 🦅 🦅🦅been enjoying my time off from competing, but I’ve got big plans for my come back in 2018 😈 whether it’s school, hobbies, work or the gym, ya gotta thrive on self improvement! Speaking of which, don’t wanna jinx it but so far it’s lookin like straight As for this girl!! Props to my morning fasted cardio for setting the tone for each day of learning 😍 I’ve seen a huge difference in my mood towards the day ahead by switching up my morning routine. Listening to podcasts or reading something related to work or a hobby I love, has really helped to motivate me to be an active learner throughout the day. The brain 🧠 can sleep when I do!!

Dare I say it's another glorious Monday to be a 57 year young #BadAss ? I'm back in my element, but one thing that has never changed is my passion to help you achieve your best fitness if you want it too. I proved that you can lose a little body fat with just diet and that you can keep building mitochondria cells with cardio, and then when you lift heavy things it's a perfect storm to build some muscle. THEN, you gotta pay your rent every dang day. Roll with life and keep paying. A little rest, then pay, rest, pay. See, just roll with it. Nice and easy.

I'm back in my element, but one thing that has never changed is my passion to help you achieve your best fitness if you want it too. That means some days are diet days, some days are a little more spurge, or a celebration here and there. But celebrations are meant to be once in a while, not every dang day! That there entails the problem. You can't eat like Thanksgiving every day!!!

Sometimes I'm the biggest dork in the world yet they still put up with me. Because they know that no one is perfect and everyone is right where they are at and it TAKES TIME. Maybe they see my heart.

They are patient and kind and polite even when I know they must be shaking their heads inside. That's what friends do. They don't tear you down for your flaws. They still push you to be your best without crushing you in the process. .

I know we shouldn't dwell so much on our own flaws, it's hard not to, sometimes it's just a problem to solve. It's not your core. It's just something to acknowledge and to work on without tearing your own self down too. Yet, I'm still quite humbled, because seriously I'm the biggest dork sometimes.

It's not the first, and probably not the last. So better to just go, get up and dress up anyway with that sick dorky feeling inside and decide to be better. .
