I'm struggling today. I had a bad day yesterday and today I'm hurting still. My tummy is swollen, well duh, I had open surgery last Friday, I have two sets of stitches internal and external and a foreign object in my tummy that my body is reacting to.
.
People will tell you they KNOW. And they do for sure, but the bottom line is that every situation is different to the individual and their own bodies reaction and their emotional state. You can't grade everything the same. .
.
I'm miserable in my condition right now. I feel trapped with a bloated hurting tummy, it's worse now than before the surgery as I was bloated before too. But now I'm bloated even when I don't eat, it's all the freakin time. I can't do two of the most important things to me; lift and be a BadAss, and my Deputy Sheriff reserve job where I volunteer my time, another BadAss thing right? I love being a BadAss, but I sure as hell don't feel like one right now. It hurts me to the core.

So, I battle the mindset like YOU have to do. We all have to do it. We all have our battles. Every single one of us.
.
So what will I do? I will write a simple list each day. KEEP IT SIMPLE. Circle W or L at the end of the day. Win or lose.

THINK AHEAD! You MUST WIN THE DAY!  You must!  I must.

I haven't lifted for 2 weeks and I don't get to lift for another 10 weeks at least AND I AM INCREDIBLY THANKFUL! What a blessing that I GET to do cardio. What a blessing that I GET to make good food choices. What a blessing that I GET to CHOOSE TO BE HAPPY.

I took the bandages off yesterday and it's an ugly 2 inch scar on my belly and I'm still pretty swollen there. I'm trusting the process, the healing process, and that fact that if I stick to my healthy food portions all will be good.
.
Most of life is simply trusting the process, appreciating the moment, and knowing that the results COME LATER.  later later later later!  Don't expect instant gratification. I know that's the way of the new world.  So much ugliness and sensationalizing the wrong things and giving it an echo instead of the rest of us here who don't care about skin colors! Makes me sick. Focus on what is right. Focus focus focus. Not give too much head space to that negative crap.
.
Here we go, another Monday to count our blessings. Back to my C-21 and ZMA instead of pain killers and ibuprofin, and I'm all right again.

I haven't lifted for 2 weeks and I don't get to lift for another 10 weeks at least AND I AM INCREDIBLY THANKFUL! What a blessing that I GET to do cardio. What a blessing that I GET to make good food choices. What a blessing that I GET to CHOOSE TO BE HAPPY. . I took the bandages off yesterday and it's an ugly 2 inch scar on my belly and I'm still pretty swollen there. I'm trusting the process, the healing process, and that fact that if I stick to my healthy food portions all will be good. . Most of life is simply trusting the process, appreciating the moment, and knowing that the results COME LATER.  later later later later!  Don't expect instant gratification. I know that's the way of the new world.  So much ugliness and sensationalizing the wrong things and giving it an echo instead of the rest of us here who don't care about skin colors! Makes me sick. Focus on what is right. Focus focus focus. Not give too much head space to that negative crap. . Here we go, another Monday to count our blessings. Back to my C-21 and ZMA instead of pain killers and ibuprofin, and I'm all right again. . Let's go! Let's go go go. Hello Roberta hope you are feeling well. It’s been the weirdest thing, well update first. My unit is now doing monthly weigh in’s for everyone. It’s fine though I think I have been making progress. As long as I pass tape I'm good. .

For some strange reason things have happened, and the humidity level has decreased here slightly and now I'm finally dropping some lbs. Not much but I notice my clothes fit better, I feel better, and I have cut way back on the alcohol (only a total of 4 drinks between last weekend and this one), So I have some successes the last couple weeks. It motivates me to keep going. Again I hope you are feeling well and thanks for everything you do.

This is great Jessica. Yes, it's all about energy in and the less alcohol you consume the better. Out of all the food energy it's the worst for fitness. Not that it can't be included, but it has a totally different metabolism pathway in the body - immediately absorbed with no value add to health or performance. I know they say some has antioxidant value but you can get that from nutritional foods instead. .

 A healthy complex carb gives you fiber and energy at a rate of 1 gram x 4 (for calories) with a lot of value, where any alcohol carb gives you 1 gram x 7 (calories) with absolutely no value and straight to the fat cells!  Between the less alcohol and at least paying more attention to your food portions and protein and veggies, THIS is why you are starting to feel better. .

The more you do this the better you will feel.  And to make you feel better about it, no one does this overnight, it's little steps like you are taking and never stopping to continue to make little steps. .

Set up some reminders for yourself about the weigh ins, how you feel, and anything to keep your mindset, pictures, symbols, papers (weigh in reports), hanging a pair of pants up, whatever, put these things up as constant reminders to keep your head in the game and remember how you feel now about progress.

I can't believe how fast I'm healing! lol I'm not going to tell you it's because I took the best protein available this morning! But I do have my reasons for believing it's the best (you can ask me about that any time), in the mean time I did NOT talk about protein brands in my video, and I believe we all have blessings we can count.  At least ONE, no matter how depressed you might be. .

Saturday Summer Feels ☀️ I really wish I was able to have enjoyed this summer more. We were driving home last night from work with the windows down, the beautiful breeze blowing and all I could think of was 'why is this the first time this year I've stopped for a second and been able to appreciate this?' I keep seeing posts recently from the awesome badass babes I follow who have recently had babies who say they miss their bumps..... and I feel like I'm missing a trick? Between nausea, exhaustion, trying to save money, working hard and not feeling 'cute' enough to go out.... this summer has basically been spent either in the 'office' or at home. Last night I found myself scrolling through a bazillion insta photos of myself last year wondering where that girl went. Swiping madly trough other pregnant blogger accounts, seeing these women, 8 months pregnant in super stylish outfits, in super glam locations,  wondering where I went wrong and telling myself 'It'll be better next time' NEXT TIME?! Next time? What am I saying, I barely survived this time around! 😂 Everyone says "Instagram isn't reality" but truth is, what we really should be saying is "everyone's reality is different". For some people it is their reality, some people just have a great pregnancy, and love their bump and can enjoy every change and stage and others don't. So instead of jealousy I chose to be proud that I have battled against the odds and come out the other side. Proud that I have even left the house at all some days where I felt like I was dying. That through all my pain, and stresses I have managed to keep working a full time job to the bitter end. That despite the dark cloud I have felt looming over me I have stayed pretty darn positive and not let my friendships and working relationships be effected. Everyone's realities are different. Remember that. Endeavor to lead YOUR LIFE and not someone else's. Be the best version of YOU, not who you think you should be, not someone else you want to be, just you. I'm still learning
