One of the biggest fears I hear coming from females trying to lose fat and build a toned body is the that lifting weights will make them look big & bulky 😱
Well the simple and honest truth is that lifting weights does NOT make females look bulky ❌🙅. There are lots of reasons why, but here are two biggies:
1️⃣ - females have WAYYYY less testosterone than men 💉 (and just think about how many dudes struggle with putting on size!)
2️⃣ - To build any significant amount of muscle, you need to be in a surplus of calories ⬆️. If your diet is structured towards losing fat, you'll not be eating enough to really build much muscle in the first place 💁
Women who look big & bulky from lifting are either a) genetic freaks and working their butt off to get big, b) taking a lil' somethin' somethin' 💊, or c) carrying a lot of extra fat on top of their muscle.
The Bottom Line ✅: if you're a female trying to lose fat and wanting to also get toned, lifting is the best way to get there, period.
And remember - at the end of the day, what matters most is how YOU feel about yourself 💪❤️

Throwing it back tonight as I struggle to even get comfortable in my luxurious bed, to a time I could even be comfortable suspended in a harness of silk and in front of a camera!

Just the fact that my body can support and grow another human life, that I can feel my baby girl moving inside me, that I can't talk to her and chances are she can hear me and will recognize my voice!!! What could be more wonderful and magical than that? As the count down begins and her arrival gets closer and closer my connection to her grows with my excitement. I would be lying if I said I was terrified of the actual laboring part, but I have the best people around me providing love, support, advice and words of comfort, so I know baby girl and I are the luckiest girls in the world! #internationalyogaday#babygirl

Today was one of my most exhausting days with a silks class, then floorwork, then contortion yet the only video that survived was a grainy attempt at a stiff #elbowstand 😂 oh well, #practicemakesperfect ....
Exercise doesn't have to be all or nothing. In fact it should be changed up often. I don't believe in the theories about shocking or tricking the body. I simply believe in variety. It's good for the muscle fibers, joints, and your keeping your mindset right. .
I spent years and years doing only heavy compound lifts, about 10-12 reps. It didn't produce the same results as changing things up all the time. It's good to do different styles of work, it works muscles from different angles.
You can sculpt your body like a work of art. You really can. Don't let anyone say you can't, or that you don't have the right genetics. That is not true. I know. I have an identical twin and "bad genetics" on both sides of my family (diabetes, bad heart conditions, over weight, bad hips, bad cholesterol, low thyroid, and the list goes on). But I made my body healthy with nutrition, supplements, and exercise.
And ditching the excess body fat. That's about the calorie deficit. You can't burn it all off with exercise. Fat loss is all about diet. You don't get to skip that part. Go ahead, ask me more. I know!!!
The fountain of youth. .
I still have some bad health issues, but it could be worse is I stayed in the obesity category. .
Don't let others limited perceptions stop you from your dream. And don't you dare let your own limited perception stop you either.
