With the last of the seasonal #porterpeaches , I made some peaches and cream probiotic popsicles. A local chef "Catering by #BoTaylor " #localokc is putting on an event (I can't tag because it's political... ergo... high dollar with the big wigs), and he asked if I could make something unique and special. So.... I made these beauties. I know it's getting near the end of the season, but can't we all admit that we love popsicles any time of year? Be hungry for cool treats year round, friends.

어제 제가 통배추김치를 처음으로 만들어 봤는데 성공적이고 정말 맛있어요. 기분이 매우 좋아요~~ First trial on making homemade kimchi. It was successful; after 24 h of fermentation, the kimchi smelled so good and it tasted delicious. Moreover, this food is so healthy, nutritious, and contains many probiotics which are good for our digestive system.
A few days later and my first #kombucha home brew is ready for its second fermentation. As you can see it's a bit paler than it was at the beginning. It also tastes lightly tangy and smells mildly of vinegar (sounds delicious, right?!). All of that is an indication that the Acetobacter bacteria in the SCOBY have been getting busy multiplying, fermenting the sugar and producing, among other things, acetic acid (the same kind as in apple cider vinegar). The second fermentation, in a sealed bottle, traps the carbon dioxide produced by the bacteria and yeasts, carbonating the kombucha. 🤓👌🍵🍺

A lovely down-to-Earth meal for our first official dinner in the new place! 🍴
Oven-roasted #carrots , #onion , & #yellowpotato seasoned with salt, lemon pepper & a drizzle of olive oil, plus BBQ #tempeh cut in to slices and topped with #sauerkraut ! I also roasted some frozen Brussels sprouts (after thawing & patting dry) until lightly crispy on the outer layer, but they were still in the oven while I took this photo😂. Either way, YUM. It's meals like this that make you appreciate the subtle sweetness & flavour of each vegetable. From #ThePantryChallenge Day 22!! P.S. We are currently lacking in the Internet department (perks of living in the forest😜🌲), but hope to have that resolved by next week so I can continue with my regular posting!
