Sunset on the beach is so dang magical and mesmerizing! 💙 Best show evah! I just sit back and enjoy beauty while I count my blessings. Sometimes it feels like the sky is falling. Then I come here and find things are as they should be. There is always a lesson in the struggle. If you give up too early you won't figure it out.
The ocean, the sky, the universe... All so VAST! Our momentary problems, not so much.
Move of the day #legday
I have yoga to thank a lot for this and my balance! 👌
Tip... you can place your hand/hands on a chair in front of you if balance is really off.
Day 5 and feeling AMAZING! 2018 is looking up!
today i am grateful for: circus and the family that comes with it. for courage (and encouragement) amidst fear. for having people who are more than willing to take time out of their practice to help me accomplish something in my own practice. for people that literally scream with excitement FOR me, even when it's about a trick they could do in their sleep. this trick needs a LOT of work, but it represents me overcoming a fear and a mindblock so i am v proud of myself💪🏾
yesterday at practice my captains told us we're going to be doing toe pitches (1st vid) in show. i almost immediately was crying, i was so scared. i've never done a backflip. period. not off a diving board, or a trampoline, never. i spent about half an hour today being thrown up, flailing bc i got scared, landing in the pit, and crying. .
but i never gave up. and my teammates never gave up on me. i dedicated the next two hours to getting over my fear of flying and being upside down. i'm not kidding when i say i started at square one (like sign me up for a toddler tumbling class, square one). at first i would just practice falling backwards onto the trampoline. then i worked backwards rolls on the floor and then i bounced them on the trampoline. i did hella straight jumps backwards into the pit and finally i was back tucking into the pit with a spot, then without. by the end of practice, i. did. it. A TOE PITCH. with no tears. it still needs a LOT of work, w technique & cleaning it & being able to do it on flat ground. but this is my progress today, and i am THRILLED and oh so grateful for the people that helped❤️🎪
Do you have an answer?
How many times have we heard this? Rather, unheard this.
Can we plead on their behalf or do they have to be closeted as nobody's? Can we #ShameTheRapist and not the victim? Should we be merely applauding the victims coming out with it in front of TV screens, crinkled newspapers and blogs, and move on? Of course there are the more pressing issues of coming onto the streets to mobilise changing the names of streets and movie titles, demanding reservations and blocking railway tracks and traffic, don't we? Who's the repeat offender, really?

“Everything worth having in this life you’re going to have to fight for. Life is going to test you and fighters know this. They know they will get hit and how you respond is what matters.” .
If anyone understands the power of positivity and a fighting mindset, it’s this week’s featured fighter Joe Buckner. He’s been in prison and homeless and is not afraid to share his story. He lives his truth and believes it’s important to be real, especially with our collective obsession with social media where everything tends to be a bit polished. He wants to change people’s perceptions of ex-felons, homeless people, and anyone who has struggled. Read Joe’s inspiring story in this week’s Lovers & Fighters blog post titled: “Fighting Solves Everything.” <👊🏻link in bio>

Real truth moment coming up:
I filmed this move a couple times from different angles.
Form is key.
Absolute key!! But having the right form shows my belly roll. 🤷🏼♀️. I haven’t gotten the vacation weight and honestly the end of last year I slacked on my portion sizes and ate a lot of ‘goodies’. As I made this video collage the belly roll was all I could see.
The mean girl is talking
🤥 “lean forward so your belly roll doesn’t show”
😡My response: “Quiet mean girl! My form is more important.” 🤥 “nobody is studying your form. They’re laughing at you because you’re a fitness coach and you have belly rolls”
😡My response: “Quiet mean girl! People aren’t staring at my belly” .. well now they might be because I’m pointing it out 🤷🏼♀️ 🤥 “remember in class this morning when you told people to pull their hands past their hips so they feel it in their oblique? They didn’t listen - they were all staring and secretly laughing at your belly roll”
😡My response: “Quiet mean girl! The ladies in class were focusing on learning the moves and appreciate the extra cues I gave so they were getting the most out of their workout possible.” Oh that Mean Girl in my head!! 😡😡😡 Honestly I think she’ll always be there.
But I’m learning how to deal with her.
I’m learning how to quiet her down. 🤫
This is one way: By publicly posting this on my social media I think it takes away her power.
Because I’m not hiding.
I’m TIRED of hiding.
I’m TIRED of being held back.
I’m TIRED of being held back by the Mean Girl in my head.
I heard this once on a podcast: “The world is waiting for your imperfect voice vs your perfect silence.” Whoa.
Read that again: “The world is waiting for your imperfect voice vs your perfect silence.” What are you staying quiet about that should be said and shared?
Who can you inspire by stepping out and speaking your truth?
Who can you help have a better life?
Who can you show how to make this a lifestyle. Where the #1 thing is working on our health: physically and mentally.
Be stronger physically.
Be stronger mentally.
And honestly the mental transformation is bigger for me than the physical one.
