My workstation this afternoon. For anyone suffering from chronic lower back/ pelvic pain, get your hands on one of these. Exercise balls are used to promote circulation in the pelvic region as well as improve spinal posture and strengthen core muscles. Sitting/lightly bouncing on one for 30 mins daily can help reduce your back pain and give some needed relief. Using core strengthening exercises, stretching, massage and nutrition/supplementation protocols can get to the root cause also. #sportstherapy#backpain#massage#sportsmassage#exerciseballs#officeworkerwoes#nutrition#fitfamgalway

How many times has this happened to you? You had your day, week, month, or even year planned then all of a sudden your plans are rerouted and you are travelling in a completely different direction.
In the past two weeks this rerouting has happened to me twice both in terms of my long term and short term goals; my plan a year ago was to be starting my PhD in September and to graduate from my MA in November. Throughout the year I was sick for a period of six months, and as a result I fell behind on achieving my targets & have decided to study for my MA over the duration of a 2nd year and begin PhD studies in Sept 2018. In addition, today, my short term goal was to start a 12 week fitness programme, however my knee is injured so this won't be happening after all.
In order to see your bigger vision, I think it's really important to write your goals down but you can't just write it down & expect things 2 happen; you can take action & do your absolute best 2 go in the direction you think you are supposed to go but being open minded to what your plans could potentially change to can be really helpful so you don't feel discourged when things don't go as planned.
Bottom line - how we choose to respond to unplanned situations is so important. 1) You can dwell on the situation 2) Accept it and treat it as a positive. I choose the latter. You're not perfect, no one is. Its okay for things not to go as planned. More than this, I think that when you are situated in positions of uncomfortability you are in the best possible place for personal growth. •Fingers but most importantly smiles to my non-compliant kneecap 😁• #happyhumpday#plans#wednesday#projectbestself#fitfamgalway#healthyyou#healthandfitness#academia#thelifeofamastersstudent#itsmorethanokay#student#change
